Best tree for living wood

What is best tree for living wood? I have been trying for weeks to upgrade deep mine to level 5 but getting very few living wood. Chopping trees like mad but get 1 every 3 trees, sawmills giving very few, living tree only drops 1 every 4or5 hours and it costs 20 bits of wood to produce 1 in alchemy.
