Yeah I noticed that too. I think those people could be either tired from the last event which was not long ago or they could feel that they don't want to go through the same frustrations they had with the Luau event or both.

Market prices do fluctuate depending on how many of each item is on the market. So this is normal. Then also some people reduce the prices below market hoping to sell quickly. Hope this helps.

I finished upgrading my tree last night. I did 898 deliveries and it probably cost me around 175, 000 in coins. Thanks to all my neighbours who were keeping their stops supplied with difficult to find items :)


Managing barn space is the biggest challenge of leveling up to the final couple of levels. When I did the final upgrade I emptied out 99 parts from my full barn and within about 10 minutes I was back to full just by collecting from all my resource buildings and animals.

Here a a few things I do when the barn is at max to cope.

- When the barn is full. first put in all items to craft which use only silo ingredients. E.g, flours, sugars, baits, salads, syrup, tea, peanut butter, nori, animal feeds, chocolate, rice, wasabi paste, juices etc.

- That way you can quickly put in your buildings without collecting anything. Then move onto items which require barn ingredients. This is more tricky because as you put one item the barn qty goes down, so then you will end up collecting the next item and the barn qty goes up, then you craft more and it goes down etc. This then becomes a balancing act between what is going out of the barn and what is coming in.

- Only make pet food in the mills as this is the rarest to buy in the market. Don't hold any in the barn, just leave the food ready to collect when the pets are ready to eat.

- Always keep one free space in the barn so you can buy in the newspaper and buy other animal food when you have collected from your animals and you can feed them. With 1 barn space you can buy 10 pig or sheep feed and straight away feed the animals and get the barn qty back down again.


- Discard all plane orders which you know you will not be able to find quickly. As you lose about half the value on an item doing a delivery, I also discard all orders which contain items over 500 coins which I have to buy in because the losses are far greater. So plushies, trains, dolls etc, truffle items, discard straight away.

- Check all your neighbours with full slots regularly. The more higher level neighbours you have the better. When you only have 1 spare slot in the barn to go shopping if you need 2 of an item and one neighbour is selling 1 and the other neighbour is selling 10, it is quicker and easier to buy the 10 and send the plane delivery. Then immediately put the rest back up for sale in your shop and bring your barn back down to 1 space spare.

- Buy any crates/ropes/tires you see in the market even if you don't need them. Immediately visit their shop as they are likely to be selling more. If your barn is full, you can quickly go back to your own shop and put something up for sale and then back to the newspaper and if you are quick and it has not refreshed you will still have the "visit farm" button and you will be able to go and shop from them.


- As you need to make space in the barn think carefully about getting rid of things that you need later on. I sold a load of pick axes at the beginning of this event thinking with the drop rate on deliveries I could replace them. I can tell you after 898 plane deliveries that TL have lowered the drop rate (I posted here about it http://forums.storm8.com/showthread.php?73171-Mining-tools-drop-rate-has-been-lowered ) so in the future tools and ores and jewelry etc will be harder to find in the newspaper.

This is a problem. I too am holding deeds/permit/maps just in case we get another expansion. If you don't hold them in the barn it can takes ages to get them again if they suddenly give us an expansion.

No, there is no point other than the tree gets a tire hanging from it. It is not very good artwork though (you can check it out on my farm), so I would say don't bother unless you really want the challenge of getting all the parts and managing the barn space to do it because it is not easy.

Am I correct in understanding the extra parts are of no use to me after level 15 for the tree?

You can be sure anyone wanting to upgrade to the end if like the birthday event can do it easily on the last day when everyone dumps their tree parts.

I'm selling upgrade parts as I find them. My ID is jumpingstar. I have a theory that when we sell hard to come by items in the newspaper that more than one player may click on the same item at the same time and therefor each of those players ends up getting the item. We've all noticed the very rhythmic time lag in the game. Therefore, I'm using my free "promotes" to get extras into the paper so that I can spread more around. I'm also buying them from the newspaper to sell in my store so my neighbors and passerbys get them. I love that these parts are cheap enough to do this. Come on by periodically if you need some. FYI- I've also expanded as far as I can for now so I'm doing the same for expansion parts. Happy hunting...

Yes it is always like this. Drops are random and erratic. If the drop rate is something like 20 % it does not mean you will get 1 in every 5 deliveries. It means that over a large sample size of deliveries you are likely to get around 20% but you could do 20 deliveries without a drop and then you may get 3 drops in a row.


I don't actually know the drop rate, just using that as an example. And there is always 1 item which is in short supply and yes of course it is so you buy gems/value packs :)

Wow! So i woke up a few hours ago, and decided to collect my leaves since i was up early. But when i checked the newspaper i found the motherload.
I found someone who was selling several batches of ten of each of the parts. Of course now i still need one more pesky crate, but im thankful for that random farm.

So I'm pretty new to this game and wonder something. When the harvest first started I got drops constantly, but haven't had a tree-related drop for the last ten or so deliveries. Got lots of pickaxes and shovels (no complaints, but I needed those last week and couldn't get them).

It almost seems like the game deliberately holds back what you need the most. Is that so you'll spend gems on them?

Still not a single tree drop...TL, what's going on?

I didn't spend any gems... I never do.... And I got the kitty....I just spent a lot of time on the game, sending deliveries and was lucky to get some of the parts in the newspaper... I think it's possible to reach the goal without spending gems , but it's really time consuming and I agree that to be on the forum really helps , because there are a lot of people helping here.....without their help I wouldn't have the beach cat and dog. :)

which lv of ur tree is? i think it's still possible to get kitty if ur tree is lv13 or 14 and we can help to make it :)

I think it really depends a lot on luck. I upgraded the tree to level 15 and got the kitty without spending on gems. The insider info on the forum is useful to know, but I was usually a step too late in snapping up the parts on sale. Quite a lot of parts I got really depended on my luck in finding tree parts in the newspaper, and inviting the people who sold those parts to be neighbours so I can check out their shops regularly. I was also randomly checking out my higher level neighbours' shops to see if they had finished upgrading their tree which means they'll sell any excess parts. I was really lucky to chance upon a few people selling in bulk so that really helped tremendously. And there were a lot of people who didn't participate in the event at all, so they were selling whatever tree parts they had.

But I think some level of obsessiveness is expected though, since you would never know when the newspaper or your neighbours would sell tree parts, so I was pretty much glued to my game (Lucky I've got time to spare! :)). Either that, or you have to do over 800+ or an insane number of deliveries as someone on the forum (is it ciarjen?) did to upgrade the tree to the max level if you really want to rely solely on your own efforts.

Yeah I've still got some tree parts on sale if you want them; I've been seeing a few in the newspaper :)

I'm level 51. I got in 2 days of FS2 before I went away camping for 3 days (obviously no wifi in that time so no game play!). I've managed to get my tree to level 14 (I'm now only a few ropes away from level 15) and I need about 500 more leaves which I'll get in about 8 collections.
I haven't used gems.
I don't do swaps from the forum or neighbours.
All I've done is concentrate on getting as many plane orders as possible. In fact, from the beginning of this event 9 days ago, I've sent off over 1000 orders. I'm probably down slightly in money due to buying extra items from the newspaper/neighbours, but I've gone up a level and will come close to going up another in the next few days.

I play more than I usually would if there was no event. However, I do try to get as many items in production, scan through neighbours shops and the newspaper, send off planes orders, collect the tree leaves, and then set it aside until it's time to collect from the tree again.

I got many of my parts from the newspaper. I did spend a lot of time searching the newspapers. I didn't spend any gems. I was able to find many farms that was not participating. They would put their parts for sale from deliveries right away. I was fortunate from day 1 to get many parts from the newspaper.

I'm having a very hard time upgrading my tree. No matter how many times I send "deliveries", I'm not getting any crates to drop. I have 12 ropes, 9 tires and 0 crates. My tree has been stuck on lvl 3 for days. I'm a tad bit frustrated.

I've completely upgraded my tree and I have about 4 more collections to get the cat. Considering I missed 3 days of game play due to camping, I'm pretty pleased. Although, I did end up sending off over 1300 orders and scoured the newspaper and neighbours shops for the parts in order to upgrade ASAP.

okay so can i just say that I DESPERATELY miss getting actual new VERSIONS of our games?! I miss the Halloween version of FS2 and of all of my games. I know we get the items but I love the entire change throughout the game and it isn;t fair that we no longer get that. : ( this just reminds me of how badly I want that back across the board. ( I play a lot of the games !)

WELL SAID!!! I miss having the Holiday (ESPECIALLY HALLOWEEN!) versions of the games!! I LOVED the trick or treaters coming in costume to my bakery in Bakery Story, and having all the street scenes and backgrounds and everything be Halloween. PLEASE TEAM LAVA, BRING BACK THE HOLIDAY GAMES!!!

I need lots of rope. Stuck on level 10 with 50+ crates and 50+ tyres. :(
I think I can get the cat but I'm going to need to upgrade twice more. I missed a few collections otherwise I'd have the cat by now. :(

How do you tell what level your tree is?
