TUTORIAL: How To Post A Picture.

I feel bad for those who are left out of the weekly contests simply because they don't know how to post a picture onto here. Well, here are the instructions. Feel free to link this thread to anyone who's having trouble!


* Skip to step 4 if you have your picture saved onto your computer already*
1. Snap a picture of your restaurant and choose "Save To Photos". (There should be a camera icon near the top right of your game screen)

2. Go to your iPod's home screen and then Photos

3. You should the find the picture in your "saved photos". Go to that photo and tap the little arrow curving to the right (Bottom left)

Then hit "email photo". Email the photo to yourself and then from your computer browser, save it to your comp.

4. Upload your picture onto a picture hosting website. Here's one you could use (no registration required):

After you have uploaded, copy the link that is in the Direct Link for Layouts box. Head on over to the contest thread and paste that link down.


To insure that your picture will show up, add these as a prefix/suffix to the link:

So it should actually look like this while you're editing

TIP: To save yourself another job, keep your link in handy somewhere on your computer so you don't have to re-upload for the next contest!

Oh and guys, I forgot to mention that there's another box for Tinypic that says "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards". You can copy that link instead and it will automatically copy the prefix/suffix tags for you.

Actually, I'm also an Android user. :)
If we could add screenshots to the Android app, we would. Unfortunately, screenshot capability is not natively built into the Android OS.

However, Android users can still participate in the contests; they just need to take a picture of their bakery/farm/etc. on their device with another camera, then post those pics in the contest thread.

I don't know about other Android devices but I have a Samsung Fascinate and I'm able to take screenshots. Took a while to figure it out but this is how it's down on the Fascinate:

Step 1: Push the soft back button on the phone for a second or two.
Step 2: While still pushing the soft back button, quickly push the Power button on the side of the phone.

You should hear a camera click and a notification on the screen that the image had been saved. Go to your picture gallery and there should be a new folder labeled "ScreenCapture", the screenshot can be found there.

I don't know if this will work on other Android devices, but it's worth a shot. Only downside to this is that you can't hide the UI inside the game, so everyone will know how rich/poor you are, but that's nothing a little cropping can't fix.

I found a way to capture SSs on Android. There's a free app in the market called "Shootme" developed by somebody not associated with Android.

The description says it only works on rooted phones, but that isn't the case with my unrooted Samsung Fascinate OS 2.1-update 1, for Verizon.

Works within the story games. Here's a test:

The SS is saved as a portrait and does not hide UI, so you'll have to rotate and crop the image. I also downloaded a free app called "imgur uploader" (also not associated with Android) which, when selected from the Share menu of an image, gives you a link to the image which you can copy and then come here and paste within IMG tags.

Hmm. I tried the app on my Samsung Epic (which is another Galaxy S variant) and tried it, but no dice -- needs root capability. Also tried PerpetualBliss' method, with no success. It could be this is a Fascinate-only feature, or that I used to have this feature when my Epic ran Eclair (it's now on Froyo).

In any case, it isn't TeamLava's policy to recommend downloading apps we don't develop, since we obviously can't ensure their reliability. And with the risks involved with rooting, we naturally don't recommend that as well. For now, the only TL-recommended way to submit a picture on an Android device is to take a picture with another camera.

Have you tried restarting, or even deleting and reinstalling? Your progress is saved on TLs servers. If that doesn't fix it, email support@teamlava.com Give them your in game name, ID, game version, device and it's version, and a description of what happened. You should receive an automated reply shortly afterwords. If it asks for more information, make sure to reply back to that email, not create a new one.

To take screenshots with the samsung Galaxy S (II) you do the following

Press and hold the Home button and the power button at the same time, hold them for like 2 seconds, then let go first of the power button, then the home button.
You have taken a screenshot, you can find it in your gallery, its in a new created folder called Screencapture.

Its pretty easy to take screenshots but at first it may take some practice, let me know how it went for you.

I'm using an iPad too. It's pretty simple. Get your picture saved in your album (the one with the sunflower lol) then you download the app photo bucket. Upload it from there, and click the chain button on top of your uploaded picture and click direct link. Come to this forum, click the tree button, paste your link in it, post and tada!~ :) hope this helps.

I use an Acer Tablet, which, I'm told is Android. I am able to take a picture of my bakery using the camera in the upper right corner and then "Snap". This puts the photo in the "Gallery", the photo area on my tablet. I can then save the picture to Picassa, but I don't know if Picassa is accepted or if it's just Photobucket.

when you hit the browse button it should pull up your picture library on you computer or device. Then find the picture you saved and click it then upload.
