No more shears....

Just sent 3 deliveries and didn't get any shears. Still need to cut a lot of trees. Not sure why I stopped getting them...but hard to gather materials for so many deliveries and then not get them. Anyone else having this problem? Don't want to waste any more deliveries....

I received 6 shears for the first 6 deliveries sent after I got to this step in the quest.

Since then, I have received absolutely nothing. I deleted and reloaded the game. Reset my iPhone. Opened a thread in the Bugs and Issues side of this forum - which was closed and redirected to this thread.

I just sent out 2 more deliveries and received only coins. Nothing else.

I don't know if TL did this to increase money spent, but I'm level 56 and an older adult who can contain myself and not spend money. This change to receiving NO shears is unacceptable. The only good thing about this is that EVERYONE will be in the same predicament and the game play will obviously stop. I'm sorry that they seem to think they change the percentage of drop to something other than zero, but we are telling them it is zero. We are not alone in this. Time will tell when no one is moving on. I hope they notice how many stop play.

Most people just walk away from a Casino that never returns the goods. I'm not willing to send any more deliveries since I am now awaiting a corrective fix to this. I have stopped stocking my market as well.

I'm going to work to get something more productive done.

TL, this is SO ridiculous. It is already hard enough to send deliveries, now that the shears drop so seldom, it's impossible for us to finish the quest.

You do realize that if something is impossible to achieve, people just give up, they don't spend $1000 on your game.

If you make it achievable, but difficult, people will spend $10-$50 to finish it.

In my honest opinion, I think this is stupid. Not trying to offend any TL staff here, but why make such a fun event so much work? Its hard enough to complete every little task when people out here in the real world have jobs they have to attend on a daily basis, interfering with events. Why would you make it that much harder to achieve goals? Because there is not enough money being spent on gems or the special $9.99 deal of 12 shears.. seems that's the only way to get shears now anyways. As someone who has spent money and gems to try to get ahead in the game I can tell you now that playing farm story for me isn't fun, and I would rather spend my time on a game that I don't need to spend money, and actually be able to achieve goals given. It is such a disappointment knowing that the time I put in having fun in a game can easily be stomped on by your money crazy staff members.

Ditto. I've only been playing FS2 a few weeks, and happily spent quite a bit of money building out my farm - as in hundreds. But this is just making me want to walk away and not play at all. The decision to skew the drop rate so badly to such an extreme that I have not had any shears since yesterday was very poorly thought out.

If it doesn't get better, I will just quit spending at all. I don't even want pets in people clothes, they would stay in storage. It's that the fun is completely gone when the game is rigged for failure.

I have only received 3 shears for 22 deliveries between yesterday and today. I am adding my voice to this thread as well. I won't be forced into spending money to buy some shears as what is offered is not enough to meet even one of the goals....unless you buy multiple packages. Crazy!!

TL You guys need to get lessons on how to make money from Casinos. They keep us playing and paying; by providing fun. They don't change the rules in the middle of the game. Deliveries are hard especially when you have to discard 50% because they ask for things you don't have. I don't have truffle forest; but 50% of my deliveries want truffles. This event was the worst because now I have a bunch of useless trees taking up precious space. I spent $9 only to find out I needed 21 shears to meet the next quest after you took 16 from me. If you press down on the tree you have the option to sell it I think like thirty dollars. Less then what you paid but at least won't take up room. I will keep a fair amount for decorations.

TL you do need to increase the drop rate to at least 25 percent.

I've made some suggestions in the other thread - making items for deliveries will really slow down your progress. I would suggest buying what you need and using your resource buildings to craft simple, quick recipes which you can make and sell quickly in your own shop.

I was with this game since it started, downloaded it for gems for castle story which i havent played since i started farm story 2 actually. Started on ipad 1 then stopped for a while when they told me it was not supported after i had reached level 35 and kept crashing on me. I bought ipad mini just to keep playing it really. I never complained,I have been reading threads in here for a long time to understand certain bugs and such and i am getting a bit sick of the greediness.
I have spent a great deal of money on it and have come to regret it as of lately due to the luck of appreciation i see. Tons of papers to complete an expansion tons of tools to finish anything and i have never seen a customers appreciation challenge, just for the shake of having fun. I dont want to count my orders to see how often a shear drops! I dont do trains to gain jems, i just want to have some good fun while i struggle with my life,kids house and husband.
69 shears to get each pet ? Seriously ? I think i will feel sorry for anyone that got to the end to win the grand price of yet another cat or dog with a lei at this drop rate. We have lives to live TL if you bet on those that have the time for this for customers you will be left with very few.

The "shears" issue is not going away. No response received from Team Lava. It's becoming increasingly clear that the company does not value our input nor does it have any concern about losing our business.

:mad:PLEASE, FIX THE DROP-RATE OF SHEARS! It is not "usual" to get no shears after sending at least TWENTY deliveries!! TeamLava needs to get their act together on this issue. I too am disappointed. Sending out orders like crazy and not getting shears. Don't want to spend anymore money on a game. I am going to quit this event and go back to just having fun! I was getting up in the middle of the night to play to try to win prizes but 2 flowers x 10 hula skirts and 3 flowers for 4 leis is too rich for me.

I've been playing this Luau thing since the very first day. All I have been able to accomplish is the first task of collecting the FIRST bunch of Plumerias. I've only gotten one pair of shears in 2 days.

This is all about getting people to buy gems! I started out playing Farm Story to just get some gems for Castle Story (which I've been playing for quite a while now.) Everything about FS2 screams fun! The graphics are fun, the colours are fun, the animations are fun, the animals are fun. Unlike other Team Lava games, this one can be played any time and that?s always fun. There is always something to be done ? crafting, buying, selling, making deliveries. It?s all fun.


The problem with the events is that you take the fun out of the game and you alienate so many players who are looking for that fun element and then they are torn between staying loyal to a game they love to play for fun and hating what it has turned into.


Basing events around making deliveries is brilliant for the game. When tasks are orientated towards buying something then players stop buying in the shops and the whole game grinds to a halt. When players need to make deliveries, the game moves very fast with people buying and selling all the time and the players get the bonus of XP to level up and maybe a few parts and papers to expand as well.


Events need to be a challenge because there is no fun in something that is too easy so you were right in that shears were not issued for every delivery to make. The drop rate itself was not a problem but the issue is the randomness of how the drop rate works. When you make 19 deliveries without one shear like I did yesterday, you question why you are even bothering to play the game. On lower level accounts that amount of deliveries is enough to break the bank, so to deplete all funds and resources for no return is pointless and it is no wonder that people are complaining and feel the need to give up the game.


Now if Piper had said something like ?make 50 deliveries and I will give you 5 shears? then players would know that there would be a point to ardous, resource draining, delivery making. They would also know that everyone has a fair chance of getting the rewards if they do the work. As it is at the moment, lucky people tend to get the rewards and others miss out, even those who have put in just the same amount of time/effort into the game. This goes for past events too.

The players themselves want the fairness where everyone gets the same chance. You can see from the forum over the last few days how they have been helping each other out and they would like to see TL demonstrate that they too would like everyone to get the same chance to obtain the prizes.

Some players with coins have just been making deliveries to get shears to help those players who are struggling. Now that may not be good for your value pack sales but it demonstrates a community spirit which you could capitalize on in future events which benefits both players and Team Lava.

I understand the lottery of receiving items may have a lot to do with getting income which the game is based on but other games like Dragon Story have events which are based on rewards obtained for work done. Maybe it would even be viable to have events with split components of guaranteed rewards paying out for work done and random drops. At least with some guarantee then players don?t feel like all their time/effort is being wasted and they can relax and enjoy the game even while they are being challenged by it.
