How Community Events Work)

Community events have two parts to them. The first is prizes you earn for yourself. The second is prizes that are earned as a community - everyone who is doing the event contributes once you hit 650 sunstones.

In this community event you need to collect sunstones. This can be done by collecting from mines, monsters, mythical creatures, rocks, workshop, pyre tent, adventures. The sunstones won't appear in your inventory. They'll appear as a counter next to the sun icon on the right hand side of the screen. Click the icon to view your (and the community's) progress.



The newest adventures do NOT classify as distant lands and will not drop sun stones

Search the Ancient Vault, Hunt Roaming Bandits and Explore Dark Caves all dropped from 5 to 15 stones.
Traverse the Desert Sands consistently dropped over 20 stones
Feral Lands Adventure and Envoy to the Plume Hive did NOT dropped any after at least 2 tries

Dragons and Manticore obviously dropped Sunstones, I have gotten over 6 by a single dragon

We don't mess with droprates like that. Monster droprate is exactly the same as it has been for nearly 2 years - about 1 in 25 chance of getting a spawn :)



The current plan is that the Pyre Tent won't drop anything after the event is over, since it's used only for the duration of the event.

For those who are asking, Braziers are ~33% droprate.



Yeah, looks like that 1% counter is broken.. the yellow bar is accurate, though, so you can use that as a guide. Can't believe you guys are moving so quickly.

Is anything else not working? (Just got in, trying to backread through a bunch of pages). Currently working on getting Sun Stones added to the Plume Hive adventure, the Iron Rich Rock, and the Lovecupine, hoping these will be out in the next couple days.

With this new update, the percentage on the Community Prize progress has been fixed, no longer stuck at 1%. Also, if you're on an iPod/iPhone, once you update, you will see your icon for this event at the right location which is at the top right of the screen. :)

Same here, no dialogue, no pop up, force closed twice still nothing, And I have the 1.2 update
and what's this Pyre Tent ? I do not have it :confused:

Seems to be an issue (and a spelling mistake in the dialogue), no moonstones show up in my inventory despite building the new building and getting some from a rock outcropping. Have force closed several times. Hope that this is fixed soon and I don't miss out?

Skunkupine dropped 1 sunstone.
Wonder if the drops are a random number of if skunkupines always give 1
2nd alicorn gave 7 stones, skunkupine gave 2 stones, so a random number each time

Check your upper right corner of screen,( or down right corner also ) if you see a sun symbol it tells you how many you have :)

Same here! Yesterday I was remarking to myself, after getting 2 monsters after tapping 2 sheep, that I was getting monsters all the time now. Today... I've gotten 2, but that is using like 60 energy ONLY on tapping things that could potentially produce a monster. It's always this way. They say they don't turn down the monster spawn rate ever, but I don't believe it. I even planted a bunch of the Talinum Auranticum flowers since they always draw a ton of skunkupines. I now have 26 orange petals for my efforts... but no more monsters for the quest. :/

ETA: Sir Piggy does not appear to drop Sunstones. :(

I did chop a whole one and the next still dropped stones. Can't comment on the glimmer rock or dark cave rock but the blurb did specifically mention rock outcroppings somewhere, didn't it?

Well, then I guess my luck is just unbelievably bad (or there is some sort of in-game 1-100 luck dial I have stuck on like 2 for ALL luck related stuff in game). I get TONS of monsters when I don't want them, and hardy any when I do. EVERY. TIME. It's so stark a difference that yesterday I was sitting there in disbelief at the tons and tons of them that were spawning constantly. Click a sheep, spawn fangbeast. **** fangbeast. Very next thing I do? Click a sheep, spawn a fangbeast. The monsters were so friggen prevalent before that that I kept a boar cornered in my kingdom for a week until I needed what he was on because they were popping up CONSTANTLY. Since that quest began? I hear crickets almost every time I collect anything that spawns monsters.

That's for the top row of individual prizes... there are 5 in total, not 3 so you will need a lot more than 67 per day.

Thanks for the info. I'm disappointed that the plume hive adventure doesn't drop sun stones since it's the adventure I'm trying to do as often as possible. Have to weigh making progress on collecting the new faerie supplies versus collecting extra sun stones to earn prizes/decorations.

You can use the iron to make Silver needed as one of the materials to make sun stones :)

You have to wait for collection from the tent to get the flag to upgrade to next level .... mentioned somewhere further up in this thread. Level 2 maybe as far as you can go.

I hid it behind trees as well, and I upgraded to level 3 and it is even more hideous than level 1 :rolleyes:

I totally agree. The last few buildings have not been up to the standards of the earlier buildings. A PINK TENT! I've got a bunch of trees growing around it right now just to hide it. It's not February is it?

It really does sound that way. Try sending an email to support to see if they can check your game. Or send a pm to Glimmergate & see if she can expedite things.

Do you have the Upgrade Tent to level 5 Goal ( Workshop Woes) in your Goals book?
If yes, maybe if you force close the game then restart it might show up ?

Do not worry, I am one of unlucky ones, but if you want to spawn the beasts, try to chop the Outcropping Rock, it gives you Sun stones + other materials to make them, and you get Dire Boars from them and they give Sun stones.
I just had a skunkupine while collecting sugar cane and it gave me. sun stone as well :)

No, you're not alone; no monsters, and definitely no diamond for me either. The tent is probably going to be slow,too. I did upgrade all the way,though, maybe that will help. Now I need more trees to hide it !!!! That thing will have to go in storage after the event for sure.

Cuz in the first if its like a pool or collect items kind, i can see reaching 1200 stones alright, but if its additive, itd be 1200 for the third, plus 450 for the second, plus 160 for the first... And this makes it qu ite very much more challenging....

Yesterday, while collecting from my sheep herd, I managed to spawn not one but two fangbeasts. Keep in mind, I only have 4 sheep in my "herd" lol. That's a 50% spawn rate. None today. I noticed when I had to collect a gazillion petals for the last caravan that the ones that make yellow petals draw a LOT of skunkupines. So today I planted a bunch of them. No hits yet in many collections from them. Have made my way through a rock outcropping, iron-rich rock (which, if anyone didn't read this whole thread, does NOT drop ANY sun stones), and another half a big rock outcropping. Not one monster spawned from any of them.

Very early on, I got a skunkupine from chopping down a sap tree. I got a dire boar collecting from a library. And a dire boar in my strawberries. But it's been a while.

I looked at the counter ( Sun In the top right corner / under Storm 8 logo) found that the stones are added despite reaching 160 and collecting the first prize.And the green bar inside also !
So It must be accumulative, but this is simply a personal observation.
We need someone from TL or a Moderator to confirm whether it is or not.

It's accumulative if I'm not mistaken same like dragon story if you play the world events..if you collected 150 stones for the first item then you need to collect 300 stones more and not 450 stones

On the other hand was wondering which adventure they meant by adventure to faraway lands but saw the first edited post and 1st 4 advs gives stones..monsters now hardly appears..ughhh TL make it regular back again..I always get dire boars frequently but now is zero..

Just want to say, I'm SO glad that the third upgrade requires purple dye. My purple cow has so far dropped 37 purple dyes that I've had no use for. The midsummer caravan had a bunch of dyes but not purple. Now, I will still have 35 spare purple dyes, lol, but the purple cow saved me having to make any! :)

They do not show in your inventory, you can find them in a counter over your "Market" at bottom right

This Pyre Festival is the same thing that they do in DS. The item collected is counted in a special menu and the collection is cumulative. Once you hit certain personal milestones you get the predetermined prize. After hitting a particular number you get to join the "community" portion, where everyone's stones count toward the goal, while you're still working on your personal milestones. Is anyone else having problems upgrading their tent? I spent the 10 gems to upgrade to level 2, but I refuse to spend anymore to upgrade it further. It simply will NOT give me the option to upgrade.

I was only able to upgrade after collecting from it, can upgrade after each collection evidently. Can use gems to speed up collection time, up to you.

The pink skunks don't drop these. I put my pink chickens in storage and brought out the other chickens so I could get the normal skunks. Hope that helps!

Love this event just like the DS community events. BTW I was forced to upgrade the app today but it works fine:-) The icon has changed to the flowery pink unicorn but startup screen remains the same.

I have had everything but the dropped materials and now that I need multiple I see it is only dropping one at the time but I've had time for outcropping and am up to 229 sun stones

Loving the new update and lol-ing at the people complaining about the pink unicorn icon and deleting the game because of it... seriously it takes less than one second to tap on that icon to load the game screen. While I agree it looks super ugly (I think I'm gonna vomit rainbow if I stare at it for too long j/k), can't you just close your eyes and tap it and then look at the screen again?

Anyhow, enjoying the new event. Finally something to drain my constantly-overflowing stones and silvers, and giving me a reason to chop those space-hogging rock outcroppings (I still got 10 sitting around)! I'm currently low on jewels so that's what I'm crafting at the moment with my also-constantly-overflowing coals. So far I have got 189 sun stones and it's nice that the dragons are dropping the sun stones. Having 5 dragons certainly helps! I'm hopeful that I can get to 650 stones either by this weekend or early next week!

The flags are taking forever to drop though, I wish there is some way to craft them as well!

So far I haven't experienced any bugs for the upgraded app that people mentioned.

PS. I'm also happy that I finally got my first apple tree from the dark cave adventure after playing for 1+ year... got too many orange and lemon trees already.

And has anyone sped up enough to know how many sun stones will be needed for the last individual item? I think Ivy called that the "fire faerie". I would not want to disappoint Ivy and not get her that statue. From my experience with the DS world events the last individual item will be doable but requires a lot of effort.

And whereas I am not too fond on the new icon either I do love the design of the tent and the fairy items. It's all very pop art and feels like walking through a certain section of the NY museum of modern art. Nice. And yes, I am aware I am pretty much alone with my opinion.

I've seen a L5 tent and it looks the same albeit with only slight difference in decoration to a L1. Stays same size yes.

I've used a lot of gems to upgrade the tent to level 6, and to upgrade from lv.6 to lv.7 you need:
6 Fancy beams
20 Wool
40 Flame flags
10 Braziers

That would cost me another 250 gems, so I think I will stop using gems, and start collecting from the tent every 4 hours instead...

I don't really understand this. So we are just trying to obtain the special stones? I can't spawn a monster even after 120 energy doing things that always spawn them so don't know how I will move on. And why is the music playing when you sign in even though I have it muted. Not happy about that at all & hope it will be fixed.

As for the green slime, I don't care for it but I will keep playing. I just hide the buildings behind trees. Loved the old icon this one is horrible but I will just shove it to my last page so I never have to look at it.

I think the way to achieve this is to carefully use our limited energy on obtaining sunstones and leave most of everything else aside for the moment. I have only 99 sunstones by now but that number will increase once that tent will be upgraded. I have also stopped wasting my energy on looking for beast and continue chopping rock outcroppings instead. They provide materials required to craft sunstones at the workshop. Plus beasts will eventually pop up from that and provide more sunstones. Which is helpful.

I've been crafting them, smashing rocks, collecting from mines, and when I collected from 4 dragons, I got about 23. I didn't even do an adventure that gave me stones today, nor **** any monsters past the 5 for that quest. As you upgrade the tent, it will produce more stones and remember that you'll be hitting goals along the way. Maybe you won't reach the last one, but you'll still get something.

The festival is on for 17 days, and I'm really hoping we'll be able to get a different icon before it ends. However, I can't promise anything at this time because a lot of this is outside my control.

It's not like I hated the new icon to death (I do have & enjoy playing My Little Pony along with my daughter).
It's just not representative of this game at all, and I'm going to miss the old glorious icon sooo much. I've even taken a screenshot of the icon and the opening title earlier, just in case. That's how much I'm going to miss it. Did the same for the valentine's version before I deleted it since I was unable to access it anymore.
Anyhow, in the meantime, I will linger around this thread to check out the fun of the festivities, while I continue my deep contemplation ;-)

Items that drop from advanced (lvl 3 or more) tent, they drop once every 5 tries if I had to give a rough estimated

Whoa that's a lot of flags and braziers!! I hope the drop rate increases dramatically for those items as the tent is upgraded. I've only collected once from my level 3 tent and I got 1 flag and no braziers.

I am still not sure how vigorously I want to participate in this event, mostly for decorations and a few gems. I really hate fighting dire boars over and over - such a huge energy drain - and I think I'd rather continue to focus on the plume hive adventures even if it doesn't drop sun stones. At least I can now make an informed decision.

I used my saved up skunkupine traps that I got from adventures to get my 5 beasts. I had to **** my pet Dire Boar "Cuddles" as well - and couldn't get another beast to spawn after that! But once I got the 5 from the goal, they are poppin up like popcorn again! Especially when I chopped rocks! Got the first prize last night, I think this will be doable. It seems like a lot at first, then you realize you are getting them for things you already do!

Just my input on this event:
LOVE LOVE the idea of community events. The ones in DS are awesome! This one not so much. The reason I say this because the prizes are just decorations that will prolly just end up in my inventory!!! So I'm just playing the game like I normally do and if I get them then I get them. I won't go out of my way to earn the sunstones. And it seems like a few people feel the same way as I do. I have 221 sunstones so far and will prolly get all that I need for all prizes without working at it.

Butttttt....if the final prize was a tinker camp type KITCHEN then I would be alllll over this!!!!!....as I'm sure everyone else would!!! Heck we'd prolly all be done now! Lol.
So I'm hoping Glimmergate reads this and considers an extra kitchen for the final prize for the next community event!!
Something to get us more excited about than decorations that will sit in storage...
