I just got a new gem creature, the emerald dragon, a gem and nature hybrid!!!! Like Crystal Unicorn, it's ultra rare and 45 hours to breed and 45 hours to hatch!! Pictures below!!!

Yes, my second one was from EmeraldDragon-Panda. (See the Breeding Garden picture above.) I'll be going for a 3rd one today since I now have the gems to speed the parent back home.

In nearly an hour of trying, I went through so many 18-second fails that I lost more coins on breeding than my habitats earned; and all those sold Panda eggs landed me on Level 17!
Anyway, it's done. YAY! No speed for this breed because I don't have the gems. My money-maker gets a 2-day vacation in the Garden.

I have only an old iPhone. If I use the upload button from the message-posting menu, it comes out too tiny. But if I upload a pic to PhotoBucket then paste a URL from there, it comes out huge! LOL. I'd like to get a size somewhere in between, but don't know how.

You got it all, thanks!!! It's true with my unicorns they came fast and surprised me, but when it comes to the emerald dragon, luck runs out lol. Just got my second one last night hoping to get two, two levels later which is an hour and half of trying I get the second emerald dragon! Two more levels, which came to level 28 and 3 hours total, no third one!!! I am almost at level 29 and still nothing, the only good thing with selling over 200 pandas is me leveling up, but very stressful!!! Lol still trying though, want to get lots of coins so I can buy more food to level up my creatures, which most of them are hard to feed when it's over 1000 food each lol!! Wish you all luck in getting either a Crystal unicorn or emerald dragon!!!

I'm still undecided about whether to breed a 2nd Emerald Dragon. But if I do, no way will I go for a 3rd one. Four days to take each ultra-rare through breeding and hatching if you don't have gems to speed. Can't breed anything else in all that time.
And I keep thinking it will just be my luck that they will release a Gem-Fire hybrid right after the 45-hour timer eventually pops up over my Gem-Nature breeding pair.

I'm gonna do it. I've kept my Garden empty and when the Phoenix egg in my nest has 7 hours left, I'll speed it up. That will leave me with 45 gems to rush my Emerald Dragon back to her habitat if/when I manage to breed a second one.
It has been nearly a week since they introduced any new animals, so I'm not gonna hold my breath. I only change my mind about this 6 times a day, so lets see if today is the day. I'll report back in about 4 hours.

holy cow! it literally took me one day to get this dragon! i had to pause 4 times because i got sick of all the green panda babies. with selling all those eggs i got from level 19 to 22.

I am going for this once my breeding garden and tree of life clear up. My combo will be Crystal Unicorn + Pandaffodil. The baby form is adorable! But I will probably evolve it to make more coins. Wish me luck!

Got it! I am so excited, and got it after a gazillion pandas. Without my unicorn in its habitat, I am not making as much money, but to make it up (a little) I now have 8 pandas that I am keeping. One level 10, one level 6, one level 5, and five level 4. I went from level 16 to level 18 from selling pandas.

What utter nonsense! If they wanted to throw in a spoiler (as they have in other breeding games with this same situation), the least they could have done is CREATE an actual 5-hour pure Nature breed. But perhaps they don't feel the need for such pretenses here.

TeamLava is always talking about "balance." That seems to be the standard euphemism for sticking it to the players. It's anybody's guess what they could possibly mean by "maintain the balance of ultra-rares" when there are only two of them so far in the game.

The consequences of their choice to make the first ultra hybrid a Nature breed should have been obvious. How could they not have foreseen a proliferation of Emerald Dragons?
Even so, there's really no need for any spoiler because:

1. TL already has the power to limit the odds of breeding either of the two ultras, especially the Unicorn.
2. The 90-hour ordeal of breeding and hatching an Emerald is enough to limit how many a player will create.
3. With 41 unique creatures, and a 31-habitat limit that most players cant find space to build, there isn't room to really go crazy with Emeralds.

Okay, so maybe a handful of players DID go crazy. But couldn't TeamLava simply cap the number of Emeralds a single player could breed; or the number of Gem Groves per forest? Why ruin it for those trying to breed their first one after finally getting a Unicorn? This is just foul.

Yup I stopped at 3. Planned to have more but instead I turned to complete my album (which I did not succeed yet).

But let me say some comments. I was wondering why crystal unicorn seem to be so "easy" in Fantasy forest, compairing to Dragon Strory's diamond dragon. There, in DS, there are about a dozen ppl who succeeded their diamond dragon under lvl 30. Also, still there are hundreds of players playing more than 2 years, already reached lvl 150, over about 2000 or so attempt on diamond and still not having it. Here, a few ppl complaining not having unicorn after a dozen or so tries. The "normal" would be if only 3-4 ppl of the whole community could reach unicorn so far. And I see that about every 2nd or 3rd ppl have it.

Almost every day somebody posts that he/she could breed crystal unicorn.

They have persisted through countless fails to produce a Crystal Unicorn. Now they must now endure the unnecessary insult of a 5-hour Pandaffodil breeding, added to the injury of losing out on 5 gems or 5 hours worth of Unicorn income to produce a worthless 20-second egg.

If YOU have more than one ultra-rare in your forest, join me in this protest. Keep your Unicorn and Frostfang out of their habitats by putting them on strike in the Breeding Garden, where TeamLava has maliciously polluted the Gem-Nature breeding pool.

Post a pic here of your Gem-Water breeding and email it to Support@TeamLava.com with a demand for a fair solution to their ultra-rarity problem.

Don't be discouraged, friends. Some day, there may be an ultra-rare Gem-Water hybrid. And even a pack of rabid Frostfangs won't discourage you from breeding it.

I have a neighbor with 9 emerald dragons so its not like everyone stopped at 3. Cant blame them though, but team lava, yes, for this nonsense. How can you be so unfair to your customers?

That could be me. I had nothing else to do anymore so I was doing my best to convert my island into a coin making machine while waiting for new updates. I had missed the early unicorn glitch and had been on Level 30 for quite a while when I finally got my unicorn so I guess I went a little crazy when I finally got it.

I didn't want to ruin the fun for anyone else though! :( I know how frustrating the wait for the unicorn was for me and the emeralds at least made up for that. Everyone else should have had the same experience. I was not planning to breed any new emeralds but I'm glad they changed it at least from 5 to 1 hour, they still need to fix the gem cost though!

I am possibly one of the most upset at the change, if for no other reason than the timing. If I had altered my timeline slightly, I probably woukd have made it just under the wire, but having bred similar dragons on DS, I planned to do it Friday night while watching a movie with my sweetie. Alas they changed it mere hours earlier and it was not to be.

That said, I in no way blame you or any other player. If you had the perseverence/gems/luck to breed an entire island full of them, that would be your right to do so. Probably the reason players have focussed on breeding them is like you said, to make plenty of coins for food, expansions, habitats, etc.

And, like you said, we should all have the same opportunity. TL has heard us, but instead of responding by making it right, they have responded by making it slightly less wrong.

C'mon TL, you clearly realize it wasn't to your benefit to keep things where you put it, but why not just reverse your decision & put thngs right? It might mess with your numbers slightly (animal proportion-wise) but it will probably be worth it to your bottom line just to put things back.

To be brutally honest, I don't particularly like the Emerald. I do, however, need it to earn a few more coins for food, expansions, habitat purchases, etc. Equal treatment for all, TL!!!!

Don't worry dear, I didn't mean nothing bad about you! Like i said it's not for players to blame, it's the game that was set up like that at first and then changed so dramatically that it made the gap between those who have a bunch of dragons and those who have zero even worse.

Back to the subject, one hour is better then five but it would be nice to change the things as they were in the first place and make no such difference anymore.

So the battle tournament started today, and since it is an hourly thing, I thought I would come back to trying for Emerald, despite my irritation at the hour long panda fail.

Imagine my surprise when after getting one Panda & putting the same pair together again, I GOT 45 HOURS!!!!!
I am so happy. :-)

I still think it should be changed back to the twenty seconds it started out as, but I am glad I don't have to worry about how/when/if *I* will be able to get it.

For anybody else still trying for it, I wish you the best of luck and if you haven't considered it, breeding for it during this battle tournament might be a good use of your time. Maximize the tournament participation AND attempts at Emerald all at once. Good luck!

I am so happy. :-)

I still think it should be changed back to the twenty seconds it started out as, but I am glad I don't have to worry about how/when/if *I* will be able to get it.

For anybody else still trying for it, I wish you the best of luck and if you haven't considered it, breeding for it during this battle tournament might be a good use of your time. Maximize the tournament participation AND attempts at Emerald all at once. Good luck!

Thank you and congrats to you for your emerald. It's the strategy I was going with but I got bored of it and tried for something else. I put daredevil and grassquatch together and got a 22 hour breed time. Not sure what that is but I hope it's good.

My thoughts, exactly! Except for the farming. I just got my 31st habitat, but only have small farms. Clearing the land & buying new habitats has been taking up all my coins, but the Grand farms are next on my list. ;-)

((((( EDIT: I just realized that with the update came higher levels and more habitats allowed, so I might be rethinking my strategy and go back to focussing on habitats and income before food. I hate to balk at upping the level & habitat cap, but it is messing with my plans, LOL!!! :rolleyes: :cool: )))))

I have been trying for two days non stop since i have been doing this tournament also, but nothing yet, only pandas... So after these 30 tries i will take a break and leave my unicorn to make some money. This is just frustrating every hour + money lost having unicorn in the breeding den all the time :(

I've been tryng on my other account, too, without luck. But I've put Unicorn in its habitat overnight to earn coins. Since I am going on every hour to battle anyways, as frustrating as it is not to get Emerald, I figure I'll keep trying until the tournament is won... or I give up on both. ;-)

When breeding a crystal unicorn with a pandaffodil in an attempt to get an emerald dragon, a while ago you guys decided to make it literally 180 times as difficult by extending the breeding time for a "panda fail" from the pair from 20 seconds to 1 hour (180 times as long). This created a tremendous imbalance in the game wherein those lucky enough to got emeralds before you guys put up the "emerald blocker" have such a coin-earning advantage from that point forward in the game, that will just continue to increase proportionally over time, that the rest of us can NEVER EVER EVER bridge that gap, for the lifetime of the game. We have since come to realize that giving everyone playing the game the same chance to succeed as everyone else is NOT in your definition of a "balanced game." "Balancing your books" is the only definition of the word that applies to all these changes that make the game a total drag unless you pay out the wazoo. So be it.

But PLEASE throw us this one tiny bone I beg of you: the panda blocker causes the breeding time to be 1 hour but the egg incubation time is still 20 seconds. That means that those of us still desperately trying for the emerald we will likely never get since the 180 times worse chances panda blocker was put up, cannot get ANY pumpkins for the event if we want to try for an emerald during it. Please understand that since you guys made it 180 times as hard (not to mention the actual odds of getting it, which can only have gotten worse as well), breeding a single emerald is a process that could take 6 months or more rather than the dedicated half day the ones you deemed the lucky chosen ones got. So cursing us with bad luck early on, then making it 180 times more difficult for us to build a set of coin earners once we even get a unicorn, then making expansions and clearing well over 2,000,000 coins per expansion which is in reach only of those chosen ones without a huge amount of time between expansions, and now forcing we cursed ones to have to CHOOSE - either take 3 weeks we cannot afford to lose off the emerald hunt or ALSO lose out on the trick or treat prizes is just too much. PLEASE make the panda fails take an hour to incubate in the nest and therefore give us a pumpkin each. Or leave the timer the same but give us a pumpkin each hatch. Same difference to us. It's the LEAST you can do for those of us you screwed with the panda blocker. The egg incubation time of 20 seconds when the breed fail time is an hour isn't going to generate money for you anyway. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE throw us this bone isn't making you money anyway.

congrats! i was waiting a tournament to start trying for it again but since that meant i will be loosing pumpkins i decided to wait the next one again... i have failed around 60 times before so its still early to give up but it is however very frustrating!

So i have been putting unicorn and panda in the breeding den for the last two days and i am fed up already. around 20 fails this time + 60 of my previous tries makes it 80 fails so far. I feel i will never get it, if average amount of tries is around 300. Terrible!

Agreed. I got all the X-mas critters early and thought this would be a good time to try seriously for the Emerald. Been breeding for two days straight and still no Emerald. It's funny b/c my 'fun' account got the unicorn super early (same with the Emerald) and it was at, like, level 20 or something. My main account is level 40 and is pretty advanced in comparison but it seems like my main account has 'less' luck than my 'fun' account now. Especially since they've lowered the odds across the board since limited animals popped up.

TL, as a Christmas miracle, please, for the love of god, raise those odds to more 'attainable' levels for everyone. 'Cause this game is starting to be less fun by the day :\

Although... I'd LOVE to see peoples' odds on getting the Emerald after the Halloween 'odds lowering' that happened. So, in the interest of science: How many people, exactly, have gotten an Emerald after Halloween? I don't think there are very many at all that have gotten it since Halloween and that is... too disconcerting for words :(

I've been trying for about a year to get the Opal Octopus.... I've yet to get him... But have along the way got some other Crystals. So I've decided to start trying unusual combinations and my second try with Crystal and Caracaroler (Music (fire and Earth) and water), I get a 45 be timer... I sped it up... An Emerald Dragon which is Crystal and Nature. How does that happen? I mean, I'm not unhappy as I don't have one yet, but hmmm.
