Upgrading buildings

I know the deep mines are good buildings to upgrade along with the wizard school but are there others worth upgrading while you haven't much to do?

There are certain buildings that need to be upgraded to complete some story lines. For example, the Lady Griselda story line requires a visit to a L5 conservatory, jeweler, and theater. Another goal requires a level 5 mine. I'm sure I'm missing some other required upgrades, though. :)

As for upgrading anything else, I pick and choose. I look at the extra income and/or Royal points gained by upgrading. Once you reach a certain RP level, there's no need to increase the points unless that's a personal goal. Upgrading doesn't give you more or better goods per collection, just more frequent collections. Usually just a 10 minute reduction in wait time.
