Dark Cave Formation

I have seen this item in the market for gems and noticed on a post it's quite costly for the same return on normal rocks least this is what I think the post meant.

Can you tell me what the dark cave formation gives you? Are they a gem purchase only or will I find one at an expansion?

You won't find a Dark Cave Formation at an expansion, but there's a chance to get one from den Dark Cave Adventure. It's a rare drop...

The DC Formation gives you Silver Ore and Jewels on every hit and has a higher chance to drop a Golden Nugget.

Normally I don't buy them b/c gems are harder to come by than Silver and Jewels, but in desperate times I bought one or two.

The DC formation has once or twice dropped a mithril, but that is super mega rare
