Dog does nothing except bark

After much work I saved the $100,000 coins and purchased the yellow lab dog and the $1800 dog house. He is very cute but does nothing except stand next to the dog house and bark! Sounds like my real dog but I didn't have to pay that much for him. When I tap the dog, the bottom of the screen shows the feed bags grayed out, the add dog works, and the bell is also grayed out. There is no timer over the dog. Any help would be appreciated.

My id is DocEE and my farm is also named DocEE.

Found the answer over in the discussions threads under Cats and Dog. I needed to collect using the bucket and now he roams around and the grayed out options are usable.
