Monument isle game 196 diamond & blaster doesn't change to more blasters

When I get a diamond and blaster and combine them, the Gems that are the same color as the blaster do not change to more blasters, but just burst the gem. Is this a change from how blaster/diamond combos usually work?

Did you already have the same-color Blaster before swapping a Diamond with a Blaster, to turn the rest of the same-colors into Blasters? If there is already a same-colored Blaster, and is untouched by the effects of the Blast, it will remain a Blaster.

If you swap a Diamond with a Blaster, the same-color as the Jewels used to create the Diamond, the Jewels of that same-color will turn into Blasters, but explode immediately instead of one by one.
