No. And maybe that Panda dragon wasn't on the wheel, but it was in one of the tournaments. Not able to buy or breed it, same with Blue Peacock. It was on the last wheel and in a tournament.

Yeah. Same as last time. You spin. The wheel stops on a dragon, then slowly reverses and goes backward. The final selection - mystic maps. Every time. Same old same old. Never different. There is no way I would ever waste 30 gold for 2 more mystic maps.....

I like the spin wheel but it doesn't like me - no dragon at all last time (one 30 gold spin used only on the last day plus free spin used every day) one spin on this one and food gained / nice to have that moment of hoping while it spins; would be even nicer to get a dragon..... I play on an iPad mini and it takes me forever to swipe it just the right way to get the wheel going. This happened last time the wheel was back, too. When the wheel was here last year (I think that's when it was) I played on an iPad 2 and I never had this problem.

So I never noticed anything crazy with the spin wheel until today. Spun it, it was going around normally, and then all of a sudden it sped up (the spaces on the wheel got really skinny) and screeched to a halt on 500 food. Tried it again and it did the same thing, stopping on 2 maps.

Seriously TL? You came up with the spin wheel....you chose what was on it. Sure not everyone will get a dragon every time but why fiddle with the thing so people KNOW you fiddled with it to make them lose? And please don't blame our internet connections...

I am just very unlucky in DS: after a year I just decided to buy my very first diamond for I could not breed it at all. Crusader and Quetzal took me weeks before I got them and they should have been relativily easy.

Last time I just got maps, a little food, and oh, 1 dragon: Forestfire - the only one I already had. Even bought one round for 30 gold, but to no avail.

I wish I could skip this in whole: day after day being disapointed takes away my fun.

What would be great is if TL put some dragons on which were VALUABLE..ones people wanted..not the "oh this is cute and fun" rather some that have high demand..like the gold dragons or the tough Diamond hybrids or a Champ dragon..some that maybe newbies cant or dont have, and some that the higher level people would be interested in having.

The dragons on this list, like the the last are nice and all but I would not put any of them on the top 10 of what I have on my Island...

Then, ten minutes ago, I spun on my main account and got Dreamcatcher. On my extra account, I randomly bred a Cactus and I spun and got a Summer, and my sister saw I have great luck so she asked me to spin for her and *poof* Raven for her! This is great after my dry spell! Good luck to all!

After coins and maps i did expect more junk, but 3rd spin actually gave Mermaid dragon, so now i've gotten something out of this, happy happy! Still, this was extraordinary ofc, with my luck and the standard "droprate"....so i imagine the rest of the spins will give some more coins, maybe a lil food which never is a bad thing...possibly i'll get an extra Mermaid i won't have a use for... But, i've gotten a dragon i didn't have, for free and all, so all is well no matter how lousy the remaing spins goes! :)

Having much better luck with the Wheel since the last time TL put it up. Gained 1 raven & 1 mermaid plus food & coins. I always wanted a mermaid and the raven was a dup I traded in for a large onyx gem. Now I can finally craft that lovely jade dragon I've been yearning for :D

I've had pretty good luck on it each time, but I think it could use a few small tweaks: Take maps off for higher level players (I haven't needed maps since before mining started), add gold back (even if a smaller amount), allow paying for extra spins anytime without moving free spin time.
I think winning gold encourages people to keep spinning if they get it. Allowing spins anytime without losing a free spin would encourage more people to use gold to spin more often. And As long as maps are a common outcome, people will not pay as often to spin, who wants to spend 30 Gold for something useless??! (Coin is pretty much useless to higher level players as well).
Since you put different Dragons on for lower levels, you should be able to replace some of the prizes for higher level players to make it worthwhile to pay for extra spins.

Well said. I have no reason to spend gold on the wheel. I don't need or want maps. I have several hundred million coins. I have almost 300000 food. I wouldn't mind the dragons, but I don't need most of them. Having the wheel "rigged" such that it spins, stops and reverses to go back to mystic maps as a prize EVERY TIME is unacceptable. In any other gaming venue, were a wheel to be so obviously rigged, there would be great outrage and potentially criminal investigation. This is a flawed program and it needs work.

Perhaps I truly have reached a point where the game is no longer interesting enough to continue.... ?????????

I know TL is hard pressed to find a common ground between the "old" players who have nearly everything possible and the "new" players who must struggle for the basics. In most instances, TL is working very hard to make all the needed color dragons available to breed/win for those that lack the dragons from long ago - and doing a great job of it!

There is just little an "older" player needs. Perhaps the older players should "phase" out and start new games.... I don't know. Oh well.

I have just spun the wheel now for my daily spin and the needle stopped at 5200 food. Then it started spinning again and I got a pop up saying oops spin again later. Exited the wheel and went back into it and it now says next spin in 22 hours. That was a waste of time. I never got my 5200 apples. Very fed up. Surely by the law of averages I should get a dragon occasionally. Sometimes this game really irritates me.

I wouldn't mind spin wheel so much if it wasn't so nasty :( going backwards, and being EXTREMELY hard to start are only 2 of the issues I have with it, if these were fixed it would be a much more pleasant experience :)
But I'm happy I finally got it!

My spins again this time have been a real joke on me. I got a raven and it jumped off and I got food. Then more food and possibly maps. I have to fight with it to spin then it's a surprise every time to see if I get what it lands on 150 player does not need 2 sea breeze that can sit in my inventory. The only thing I really want is a new dragon! I'm not having much luck this time around. Being at level 145 and fully expanded, I don't have any need of coins or mystic maps nor do I want multiple dragons I've had for a very, very long time. Now I have to waste resources getting these dragons to level 4 to trade them...for gems I have no need of and are sitting in storage...I'm just hoping TL will find a way for us to use them!

I think this wheel is more useful to lower level players. When I was starting out I would have loved it! I'm glad many players can benefit from it. For me, though, it has become a burden of useless 'gifts'! I wish the wheel were customized for high level players to eliminate useless gifts...I'm just saying!! :rolleyes:

Don't feel too bad. I don't see any difference spending gold on the wheel to get a dragon and speed breeding to get one. Usually get fail after fail breeding so it's all the same to me. At least the duplicates you won can stay in storage and not take up valuable nest time. So stop beating yourself up!

I wouldn't nessecarely say you should be grateful with all the extra dragons you already have because I got 7 Seabreeze! And not to mention I also got a Dreamcatcher (that I already had also already had Seabreeze) but I would say be grateful that you got the tigerfly dragon!! That's a lot of gold to spend to not get what you wanted bummer man! But hey at least you got a new dragon 

But not by this lottery. Putting a dragon on the Wheel that cannot be obtained any other way is just plain evil. Making spins more expensive for some players than it is to others, is also plain evil. So, put your money where your mouth is, and do not spend any on this event ever again. :)

Like someone else said in a earlier post the wheel spin isn't much different than speed breeding in the way that your spending gold to try to obtain a dragon, your gonna have lots of fails and u may or may not eventually get the dragon your trying for. And I agree with your comment about if no one spent any money for extra spins TL would be less inclined to do the spin wheel, but it's not like they would make it easier to obtain what you want they would probably just not do the spin wheel anymore and that would suck because believe it or not I have gotten dragons from the wheel in the past just using my free daily spin. But either way that will never happen because there is a fairly large group of ppl that spend ALOT of money on this game and that will never change and I'm not talking about someone like me who does spend a lot a lot of money but I'm talking about the ppl who have ALL of their habitats upgraded to hold 4 dragons and will outright purchase dragons for ridiculous prices like 3000 gold, these people (who I'm not judging) will always spend real money on the game no matter what and that will just never change.

I don't really know if it matches up to speed breeding, since at least you can always buy a dragon if you give up and most dragons are available at least more than 7 days. While I have some amazingly miser like powers of spending control, it sounds like for some people the wheel is very much like real life gambling. I remember when they took the wheel away the first time, people were saying that maybe TL didn't have the licenses to run gambling on an international level (heck even the laws in the 50 states can be a bit different). Same reasons suggested for why the breedathon "win 5000 gold" events got canned too.

Now the wheel is back and while the prizes are much much better, I don't see how it's changed to not be like gambling. I have enjoyed the wheel so far, since it's given me the chance to get two dragons I missed before. That said if they change the luck or prizes in future, I can see how DS could be a problem for some people and how it might not make them feel good about playing anymore.

I agree that TL make fun games and they do deserve to earn a living off of these games. I think a lot of people do have a bit of fun on the wheel and it's only a few instances when things get a little out of hand. I think what's missing is some caretaker safeguards, something to say "wait a minute, you just spun the wheel 20 times in a row, you need a timeout to think about this" or maybe an indicator to show how many times you have spun, or a build in feature to up your luck if you've spent 500 gold already. Even casinos go the extra mile to take care of their big spenders to make sure they don't leave unhappy.

As for putting dragons on the wheel that cannot be obtained any other way? Well, I've played long enough to know that TL recycle their limited dragons. They almost always come back in some form or other, and sometimes easier to get. You may have to wait a few months or a full year, but never feel pressured into the last chance impulse buy. You might even find after waiting a year, that you don't actually like that dragon that much. Me personally, I spend a lot of time trying to breed one dragon, get a bit frustrated sometimes, then when I get it, I'm happy for maybe the day, then stuff him\her up to Epic, and then I forget about them. I have had one or two notable exceptions who have done very well in the arena and I revisit them regularly, and who can forget those generous gold giving dragons, but for the record the two dragons I won on previous wheels are now sitting snugly in my storage box since I am a bit afraid of running out of space for my dragons (& making my already slow game slower). I'm happy I won them, but they don't present any unique breeding or battling umph.

Edit: For the record, I have had my own dark moment with the wheel. The first time it came out, on the tail of a boozy night I hit a gold trap. I was so close to reaching the 1000 gold mark and suddenly spent 800 on a new fireworks dragon I already bred. I was angry and the drinks did not help. I vowed to quit because back then TL didn't have such an easy policy on reversing accidental gold spend. I saw the wheel and it had some insane amount of gold as top prize, maybe 1000, maybe more. I then proceeded to spend my remaining 200 gold to win back my gold or go bust. You can guess what happened, and I quit DS... for maybe a week. I cooled off and the proceeded the slow and steady savings march back. A lot of good things happened since then. Three diamond dragons, four gold giving dragons, and a surprise bonus of having my gold from Monster Story transferred across when it went defunct. I still have that Fireworks dragon egg in my storage, TL won't let me trade it in and I won't waste x amounts of hours in a nest. Seems like it's been my lucky charm since I haven't hit a gold trap since :D

Again it's mentioned how TL must make money from the game to keep it running, and that they deserve being rewarded for creating a nice game - i agree about the former ofc, but i feel they'd deserve rewarding only if they made game more enjoyable BEFORE you pay them money...

I have no problems paying money in games,

DS is just an app game and maybe i myself wouldn't buy valuepacks again or pay to get extra gold no matter how they'd change the game, but personally i think a game should be a bit more rewarding even if you don't pay for stuff ingame - i think many would like that and be happy to reward TL for it....i guess it's a fine line to walk though, balancing it...

On a less revolutionary note i think the spin wheel fails just because odds are so bad - if we all got at least something out of it i'd find it ok (gotten one dragon i didn't have in each spin wheel i've been in on which is quite nice for not paying anything, ty TL) but i see on here that some poor souls pay lotsa money for gold to spin extra, and still don't get anything....not nice, and those are the players really making the game go around even!

I agree - I think it makes more sense if you think of Spin to Win as a slot machine rather than a roulette wheel. Having said that... I have no problem playing it as a slot machine. I even bought gold to do more spins because I felt the wheel gave me a chance to get some dragons I needed at way less than the normal cost to buy them outright.

If you mean that the payout is smaller and more reflective of the buy in then yes I would agree. I think this is why the wheel is back. The best payout on the wheel is much smaller that on the original one. You can get a maximum of 30 gold here which is a few dollars instead of the 1000 or more on the original version. Even the dragons are all not purchasable from the market so its not possible to put a monetary value on them as a prize (even though some could have sold for 1000 gold). It's a smart little change that makes a lot of difference. Better to have more smaller payouts spread around than one large one (and an unhappy mob)

I have not gotten dragons from a wheel. Ever.

I think that the wheel should feature all diamond dragons but one - a spot that removes 10 gold from the player's stash. Charge 30 gold per spin and give us a chance. ;)

But that does mean the programming flaw that makes the wheel stop, then spin backwards to "2 mystic maps" selection is FIXED!
