I hate it when I touch the screen and it takes gems to speed up things. Just lost 11 gems to speed up the library?!? Never going to get the wizard school with this annoying procedure that doesn't have an 'are you sure' button!

What's your pet peeve with this game?

I had this problem all the time until I slowwwed done my tapping to a crawl. Before I tap again, I make sure there's no popup. If there is, tap somewhere else on the screen.
Haven't lost any since I've slowed down my tapping.

After losing almost 200 gems to speed up my Alicorn, I learned to never tap the screen to pick up resources. I just let them automatically collect. The other thing I've forced into habit is tapping outside the kingdom to remove any pop-ups, such as "time remaining" or "current level" boxes. That way there is no chance of losing more gems.

Yes, that is what I have forced myself to do - if I want the resources collected quickly I will close and open the app
