Can't add neighbors and haven't received requests

Since the birthday cake thing came out, I haven't been able to add neighbors nor had any requests.
I visit lots of farms every day and can't add them as there is no button there now.
Whats up with this?

Check your setting on "Allow Quick Invite". You don't see it on farms if it is switched off.

I think mine was turned off in an update.

Previously it was switched on after update but now it's off.

How annoying!!! Just checked my settings and the Quick Invite was switched off in the update too. No wonder I haven't had any invites or been able to add players recently!!
