How to get more $$$?

Hey guys, just started playing this via Castle Story. I'm only on level 7 (lol) and I notice that I am short on funds for all of my goals that the game suggests.

What's a good way to build up income? In Castle Story you could plant crops, but I don't know if that applies here.
