Yes, that is two rounds in a row where a baby dragon took out the opponent. On round 20 I used a baby while my troupes were in line for the spa.
Round 21 I just wanted to see what would happen if I threw in all the babies one at a time. Eventually, one was victorious. :)
I think Lightning was making up for his poor performance in the last tournament and all the time he spent at the spa.
Mercury and Black Diamond were the more difficult two for me this tournament.

I'm currently stuck on round 25, Bronzetalon 20 causing problems - not surprised, and it has gone so smoothly up to this point so i guess it was time to meet trouble.

1st. try: Quetzal 10 loses
2nd. try: Diamond 10 loses
3rd. try:Quetzal 10 loses
4th. try: Forest 1 loses
5th. try: Crusader 10 loses (forgot to use the Pyramid after advice on forum, Pyramid up next)
6th. try: Pyramid 10 loses (worth trying, couldn't do worse than the other)
7th. try: Black Knight 10 loses.

Hoping i can avoid using Ultimate, i don't mind doing that at all but there's still good time left so i'll keep at it a bit.

I thought I was breezing through this tourney nice and easy until I hit round 20, 21 and 22. I had one loss prior to round 20 and since I think I have more than 10. Even with several epic diamond options they keep losing over and over and over. Odds say 55% or 45% yet they keep losing.

Lucky I have 3 more days, my spa is filled with multiple level 9 and 10 Crusaders, Infinity and Quetzal dragons.

I did find it odd how well the tournament went in the beginning but it has definetly gone back to normal now.

I don't mind using Ultimates to minimize the frustration of these lotteries, and i do have Gold i can use, but i find it as interesting as annoying seeing how many attempts it'll take for me to actually beat Bronzetalon 20. We'll see, maybe i cave in soon, this just isn't fun in any way.

Again i am glad i am not spending any money on supporting this game - apart from some annoying features like this it does have its nice sides too, but if i was spending money to buy myself shortcuts just to compensate for the poor odds then i just wouldn't feel ok.

Anyone ideas on Infinity? My Diamond 10 lost 3 times now, my Quetzal 2 times. It's ridiculous, for it should have 45% chance to win... I know, I know, it can still mean you loose 10 times in a row, but it's pretty frustrating.

Anyone ideas on Infinity? My Diamond 10 lost 3 times now, my Quetzal 2 times. It's ridiculous, for it should have 45% chance to win... I know, I know, it can still mean you loose 10 times in a row, but it's pretty frustrating.

Having difficulty with lvl 10 Wildflower, have tried mainly lvl 6 Acrobat (4 times), lvl 8 Fortune (4 times), lvl 8 Parakeet (3 times) and lvl 8 Athletic (twice) plus one hail marry lvl 9 Fruitful.

Other than feeding the Acrobat, any other advice? Whats the first battle arena dragon that you obtained? I just breed a Dino, saving for habitat now. Go for Royal or Metal, next? Is Moon/Comet good for the Battle Arena? How about Lotus/crafted?

I just had a complete breeze and managed Black knight on my 3rd try with Pyramid and then got both Angel and Infinity down 1st go which is a total first for me .. but had my first loss on Porcelain now and looking at what I went through with Quicksilver I am expecting a LONG slog !!!

Then got Porcelain with Mistmoth after Aether failed. Try it if you have Mistmith, it worked for both porcelain and quicksilver on my various accounts.

It is rather silly, I agree. Round 25 Bronzetalon took me 14 tries yesterday and I just had my 13th fail on round 26 Celestial. It's getting beyond silly at this point. I'm frustrated enough to not want to ultimate anything since that seems to be what TL is after.

Hmm did you try a hardware reset ? Switch off completly your iPad (or your iPhone) : i heard it can reset the random things in battles. It worked for 2-3 neighbors of mine, when they lost lots of battles, so this could work for you too.

Hehe i usually would've Ultimated long ago, but since i was in extra good shape after having good flow in the beginning i thought i'd give it more chances than usual....and now i've come to the point that i'm so p'd off at TL's silly lottery that just stubborness keeps me sending my poor dragons in there! Hi, everyone. I feel sorry for many of you who are getting frustrated at series of loss against Bronze Talon. Please remember it is a champion at level 20. So it would not be easy to defeat it. You have to think differently. In the Bronze Talon tournament, I just had a hunch, it will go down a pink dragon. It clicked, first try. But in this tournament, I did not have a repeat luck. After two losses, I remembered that while breeding Bronze Talon with Diamond, I got a water egg. That means, it has hidden water element. Since air element is superior in the arena, I chose Gold which is a Diamond hybrid with yellow air element. Believe me, it clicked. So, although I am not sure, whether my theory is going to help all of you, I suggest to try putting Air element dragons against Bronze Talon and take one more chance. Anyway, I wish you have better luck in the remaining rounds. Enjoy fighting.

Bronzetalon was the hardest round for me too, MakJulos. I finally defeated him with Crusader.

I've decided what will be will be but no more gold spending for me. I was trying for a Crownprince dragon using Royal and Venetian. And then it gave me a 44-hour breeding time. Was not even shooting for a Diamond that time. Don't want to discourage you, but I've been trying for a Diamond for the good part of a year. I guess it really is just four elements of anything.

Unreal....in the 23rd attempt at beating Bronzetalon i send in Secret 10 who actually manages to win by the tiniest margin.

I didn't think it would happen really, the whole line of rounds has been more or less identical - well, the damagedealing has - the first, second and third hits has left exactly as much of Bronzetalons health bar remaining in the first 22 matches, and this time the first couple hits was looking the same too, so i got feeling it was set up to be that way....and tbh i don't think it was just bad luck causing this depressing sequence of matches.....

Oh well, let's see if the remaining rounds will be as messy as this one was, it sure wouldn't surprise me.

I was surprised with the few battles against Black Knight! Still no diamond/hybrids for me, so I expect to hit a wall soon. Been trying to breed one for a couple months. Breeding's not going well for me. Both accts missed Father, and I LOVE plaid. :( So finally decided to just save up for a diamond. Based on my average daily gold accumulation over the last 9 days, it will only take 11.5 months. Hilarious. :D

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, I sailed through the beginning but not having any luck now. Ultimated black knight through sheer frustration but not getting any better with angel. I've decided what will be will be but no more gold spending for me. Focussing on the elusive diamond breeding & saving gift gold for the next tournament where I may be able to bag myself another champion giving myself a stronger armoury.. That the plan any hoo :-) x

Thank you, and round 26 Celestial went amazingly well at least - i chose to speed up arena with a couple gold since i paid for previous round with frustration instead of Ultimate, and sent in Spring 10 who beat Celestial with one big bash, halleluja!

I was trying for a Crownprince dragon using Royal and Venetian. And then it gave me a 44-hour breeding time. Was not even shooting for a Diamond that time. Don't want to discourage you, but I've been trying for a Diamond for the good part of a year. I guess it really is just four elements of anything.

I'm a fairly new player so I don't have a lot of dragons but I did manage one diamond dragon. For those newer folks I used element and owl. They gave me many amazing dragons.

After 6 tries on Infinity with Epic Diamond and Epic Quetzal, Diamond finaly beat him - and Aether beat Porcelain first try, after that it only got better: Diamond beat Mercury, Unicorn and Black Diamond, all on first try. Furthermore, Amazone beat Tarot on first try and I used ulti on Bronzetalon, so I'm off for the last round!

Diamond is on a roll!!! I do NOT regret buying one, for it saves me lots of gold in these tournaments :D

Well baby fire came through at last on Black Diamond and Immortal beat White Magic on the 3rd try so I am done. I only have 39 tarot cards and no desire to go back to the arena for more.

Final tally is 58 losses and 1 ultimate used. I wasn't happy last tourney for using so many ultimates and I'm not happy this tourney for speeding so much. I think ultimates would have been cheaper in the long run.

Other than feeding the Acrobat, any other advice? Whats the first battle arena dragon that you obtained? I just breed a Dino, saving for habitat now. Go for Royal or Metal, next? Is Moon/Comet good for the Battle Arena? How about Lotus/crafted?

Have lost with Water 10, Pyramid 10, Island 1, Fire 1, Bronzetalon 10, Mummy 5, Titan 10, Aether 10, Metal 9, Atlas 8, Rainbow 10, Poison 7, Winter 7 & Water 10 again. I feel your pain. It took me nine tries with epic diamonds to beat Mercury. Unicorn took 15 tries, with epic diamonds losing 8 times. I couldn't do worse if I used level 1 Fires.

Interesting how for some the tourney is tough and some it has been a breeze. I noticed this one has more diamond and higher level battles versus others and I am noticing that there are fewer "odd" combination battles..where some dragons that you dont battle with very often get used. This has been diamond hybrid and Champion heavy (IMO)..

I am on Lvl 26, two losses on it (used Marsh and Spring) and spent the last two days on the rounds 20-24.

On these higher level battles I am noticing it is total luck. Even if you have the dragons which SHOULD win, they might not for 10 times. I battled Infinity, Mercury and Angel KNOWING I had enough high level diamond hybrids that it shouldnt take too long, well it did. It took a long long time cycling the hybrids through and throwing in the occasional baby or odd one to see if it would trick the system.

This game is programmed with randomizing software/algo programs..which means when we get up this high its a bunch more luck than any kind of theory or s****.

Tournament is done with plenty of time to spare! I swear, I have never had a tournament go this well for me before! Didn't have to use ultimate and only sped up the arena twice because I was impatient to try again. Hardest levels were Mercury and Unicorn (took 7 tries to beat each). Only other one that took more than three times max was Tarot (5 tries to win). Happy it's done. Plus I bred a Cheshire (which would go on to take out Unicorn) and a Crownprince in the past couple days. Over all I'm on a small roll. Which means the next tourney will be a nightmare for me lol.

After the insanely long row of lost rounds against Bronzetalon (thank you TL for such an uplifting experience) i had a nice break in round 26 where i only needed one attempt and one bash. Right then it felt ok again, still disappointed in the game but getting hopes up at least. Now i'm at 4 losses with quite good choices of dragons - Secret 10, Marshmallow 10, Black Knight 10 and Lightning 10 - against Tarot 18 in round 27 and i really don't believe i will pull through this tournament....i don't mind much though, maybe that is just what i need....

Round 27, 5th try: Dynasty 10 actually beats Tarot 18 - using dragons with a 45% calculated crit chance and i only needed 5 attempts, i'm surprised!

Freesia : I feel your pain - I nearly gave up on Quicksilver and then weirdly enough (and for the first time EVER) I sailed through the next 11 rounds .. pretty much KOd all the diamond hybrids with my single diamond (he is now on extra sparkly rations !!!} and then White Magic went down first try to my Bronzetalon who I had worked so hard for in the last tournament .. so I have actually finished and it feels very weird !!!
No ultimates and no gold .. some bad luck with the beginning dragons and then no problems really with the last rounds .. I am dumbstruck !

I think these tournaments stink, at least for some - i see so many just cruise through, and other struggle bad - i guess it is the way it must be, if odds were alike for everyone through every tournament i imagine fewer would buy their way out of it using gold - if everyone had a couple losses per round n then won it i think less gold would be spent overall, so a bunch of ppl that do real poorly is necessary for profit - what kind of nasty person i was in an earlier life to deserve being one of them i don't know.... :)

Anyway, since i stuck to it through 27 attempts at round 25, an insane 1st try win in round 26, 5 attempts at round 27 , only 2 tries in round 28 and now just 5 attempts in round 29 i'm now at final round without having used Ultimate yet! Ok so i've probably spent 40smthn to speed up arena, but still.....not over yet, but if willing to pay with frustration and anger instead of gold it does seem like even i can do tournament without Ultimate woot!

Each tournament has a selected lineup of opponent dragons. They cater to a particular grouping of dragons that you may or may not have in your game. Those long time players who have a majority of dragons do quite well. The mid-level players who happen to have the group of dragons needed for the specific lineup of the tournament will usually do quite well. Those who have some dragons may or may not do well, depending on the tournament's lineup and whether they have the dragons needed.

This particular tournament leaned heavily on the Easter event dragons, the Egyptian dragons and such. Having at least 1 champion is a huge plus.

The final 5 rounds, however, reverted to the standard diamond hybrids needed in most (unicorn!), or pure "luck".

Additionally, as an overlay, the "luck" percentages can play havoc or reward individual players in a randomized fashion.

Don't give up. That "luck" factor can surprise one at the most unexpected times!

It's really hard to complete a tournament unless you've been playing the game for several months and have built up a good variety of rare / super rare dragons at level 9 or higher. Having said that, the odds of beating a level 10 Daddy dragon can be pretty high if you've got some good high level dragons. If you are an iOS player and got the Acrobat from the Circus event that's a good one to use. If you've been trading duplicate dragons for gemstones - the Amethyst and Emerald dragon are good choices too. The lightning dragon from the album rewards is another strong dragon.

I too am stuck on Unicorn. Lost Lotus, E Knight, Razorback, Fairytale, Emerald, Illusion. Don't have Deep but will try Amber, Bat or champions again. I think this account won't make it. Even if I pass Unicorn I know Black Diamond will be difficult.

Well her diamond came through and Black Diamond went down with a Magic after losing Crusader .. so on the final round now for her :)

Its so strange that this is a complete rolev reversal - last time it was me who struggled and ended up ultimating twice to get the final round done in time .. this time she had to ultimate once and I sailed through the hard rounds with only one Diamond :) ..So much randomness !

My daughter has just lost her level 10 bronzetalon to White Magic .. she is not a happy bunny :D .. well done for getting Black Diamond :)

Finished the tournament with no gold spent - no ultimates or speed-ups. And left with only 5 or so dragons in the healing queue!!! White magic came down with a single bash of Marshmallow 9. Thanks friends for the dragon suggestions for all the rounds!! It was very helpful!

knuffel - lots of people have had problems with Unicorn - my daughter ended up Ultimating it today when she had spent 10 rounds on it cos she thought she was going to run out of time ! Good luck with Black Diamond :)

still stuck on unicorn I figure I have at most 8-10 rounds left before the end of the tournament, I was hoping to be able to finish this tournament without using Ultimate, I have lost so far, Black angel, Infinity, crusader, Lotus, baby fire, deep, Baby fire, baby fire, dark angel.
I am going to try Diamond next, and then Amber
I went thru my notes and these are the rounds that took the most battles

I had several rounds where I lost 2-3 battles before winning

After 2 days of frustration fighting Black Knight, Trickster tricked him into .......

I've moved forward pretty quickly, I use BMM.

Hang in there... the White Magic is much easier to beat when compared to the champions and the ultra rare diamond hybrids. Good luck!
