What happens to the holiday items if you put them in storage after they are not available to purchase anymore? Do they disappear completely?

I bet you anything they don't disappear, they just go back to the respective category they belong to -
wall decoration, freestanding decoration.

I have an indoor fountain that when I put into storage shows up in freestanding decoration section.

There would be riots if holiday items disappeared after you bought them.
