Golden apples, eggs and nuggets

Ok, so since this challenge I quickly got the nugget and egg, however the apple is just not arriving. I have 3 eggs and nuggets but no apple to complete this task, I've been buying crab apple trees to chop down fairly regularly but no luck, any ideas?

I've gotten golden apples as drops from my magic garden, Sir Pigglesworth, and actual apple trees (gem purchase or item received from adventuring if you're lucky). You don't get golden apples from crab apple trees.

All of my golden apples have come as drops from apple trees that I bought with gems. The golden apples are still rare but I use the normal apples to make pies.

Sir Pigglesworth brings me often apples, and I got often trees (lemon, apple) from adventures :).
