I'm stuck on round 20 against ninja. Lost pyramid, passion, diamond, amazon, blk knight. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

What I do against the champ rounds is to use level 1 fails from breeding. I save ones with different colors then just try them one at a time. If something gets really close, I try a higher level with the same colors.

This actually shouldn't work at all, since it's all 10%, but I've had pretty good luck this way. If I lose, I try another level 1 with a repeat color and a new color. If purple yellow got close, but isn't winning, I'll try a blue yellow or purple red. It's really the same odds as just using level 1 forests or fires, but it makes it seem like there's a strategy. ;)

It's always worth trying a dragon with the right colors, even a common one. That's how everyone starts in arena, and every dragon always has a chance to win! :)

I just use lowercase letter for minimal hit and uppercase letter for major hit and don't add the + to it.

Just to round out the answers already given, in a system that utilizes "+" you might find that:

Likewise, B+BB or Bbb could mean that the first attack caused significant damage but two lessor attacks were needed to finish them off.

If the first blow is good, normally it should be okay.
I'm not sure what you mean by this.... Only 1 critical hit is needed to win any battle, so if the first blow takes off a big chunk of life, then you are guaranteed to win. But, if the first doesn't, then you still have 2 more hits to try to get a crit.


Still stuck on round 20, Ninja... It sent my Diamond 9, Atlas 8, baby water, baby air baby luck and baby acrobat to the SPA queue :( I feel that I will ultimate this one. Unless somebody has suggestion? I only have 1 champion, Emerald Knight level 8. and 1 diamond 9 (no hybrids) :((((
In theory, diamond, infinity, passion, and pyramid are the only dragons that have more than the base 10% chance against a level 16 Ninja. There's a lot of luck at this point. Keep healing your diamond and bring out the baby brigade.


Has anyone beat Dynasty with anything other than Egyptian? Mine went down like a lead balloon and my Diamond and Champs aren't working either! Any tips would be great! Thanks!
I once beat Dynasty with a level 1 air dragon, but I don't think Dynasty is in this tournament. Did you mean a different dragon?

I'd say Pyramid but you might be too new a player to have that one. It's helpful to list your rare/super rare dragons in your signature. Or all of them if you have space! Then we can recommend from your list. :)

You need a lotus dragon - you can request parts from your neighbors and craft it. You badly need a black and that will give you a very strong one. After crafting that, try crafting some of the other gemstones, especially amethyst which is not breedable. That will help a lot for future tournaments.

For avatar, try your rainbow, gemstone, virtue. They might lose the first time - heal and try again. Good luck!

I can not believe I just beat ninja on the first try, I had a very well thought out plan for trying to beat him before I was to use ultimate I thought about it for a long time read everyone's posts and here was my plan
1. Inifinity 2. Pyramid 3. Epic Forest 4. Infinity 5. Metal 6. Marshmellow, 7. Infinity and use Ultimate
so I got Infinity in the arena and almost always use Bash as my first hit but decided perhaps Infinity could you a magic hit instead, and that magic hit almost did Ninja in, it still took 2 more Bashes to finish him off but to see him almost knocked out on the first hit was a great feeling.

There are 3 ways to defeat champions:
1. Use ultimate - a favorite option for most of us lol
2. Baby brigade - you buy forest or fire dragon, leave it level 1 and fight, sell it when it loses. Eventually you get lucky. It usually takes several hours.
3. Use one of the few dragons with slightly higher odds, like pyramid or passion, and keep healing, retrying every 2 hours til it wins. While it is healing, after an hour when arena is up again, use a baby and sell if/when it loses. (Combo with option 2).

There are variations on each strategy, but basically, use a combination of high and low dragons, mixing in level 1's or breeding fails you sell when they lose. Then you keep at it til you get the lucky hit. I use breeding fails, keeping the ones I get between tournaments for the purpose. It helps to use different colors.

If you have the patience... the best dragon you can breed for use in tournaments would be the ultra rare diamond dragon. It's hard to get and you'll have tons of fails - but some of the fails will be useful. Once you get a diamond, you be able to easily breed the ultra rare quetzal and crusader.

In the meantime, if you're an iOS player, try to collect as many different type of dragons as you can from the fails when trying to breed the diamond. Once you get to 50 you'll receive the Lightning dragon - which is a very good arena dragon.

Oh, that's brilliant. I never thought of hatch-fight-sell before, and I was just wondering what to do with my usually empty 3rd nest :D

By the way my Pyramid just won a fight for the very first time, took care of Razorback for me, I'm so proud of him :)

I would go for Atlantis or Blue Moon, whichever is higher level. Heal and try again. Also if Wizard, Hypnotic, Dino, or Aurora are particularly high level, try those. Tourneys are a lot of luck, so don't get discouraged! Most people don't win their first tournament.

Thanks! I went through my records and it looks like my Parakeet beat Mercury (twice) and Prism, and lost to Immortal, Unicorn, and Gold. Bat lost to Unicorn but it doesn't look like I've put him against any Champs. I know you didn't ask about diamonds, but they are pretty hard for me since I have no diamonds! I shall have to try these two against champs; thanks for the idea. :D

Updated battle report... Rounds 11-20

Epic Lightning or level 8 kaleido (both non breedable pink yellow) took out hibiscus, Viking, glass, pinata, and celestial. I had as much trouble with celestial as ninja, losing jewelry, parakeet, and marshmallow before kaleido got him.

This has definitely been Battle Pink! for me so far, with quartz winning 5 of the first 10 battles. Had my first loss on Taurus - had trouble with him the last tournament he was in too. Cosmic faltered, but platinum sent him charging for home. Venetian charmed illusionist with 2 well placed magic hits, and amethyst cleaned up with porcelain. No dishes were chipped during battle. :)

Mummy wrapped up panda, and my personal strat for ninja went fairly well. Took 4 battles to take it down. I lost level 1-3 winter, trickster, cleopatra before guessing on an epic tusker, who won. I have no idea why this works for me, but I'm not going to argue with success. :) So far, 8 gold spent speeding up arena, 10 gold won, 8 battles lost, 1 of the Evil Eleven defeated!

All the champions have black plus another hidden color under their skins. I use stronger colors against the hidden color of a champion and super rare dragons. It mostly works, but sometimes takes some attempts. My most successful dragons against champions are Triceraptus, Dawntree, Pegasus (Fuzzy and White Rose), Scarecrow, Nano and perhaps another champion. Hope it is helpful to others. Of course, there is still a lot of randomness in the final results. Patience is required. Good luck to everyone.

My experience is quite different from yours. I find that solid colours like forest, water, metal work for me if diamond, infinity and passion don't. Just shows how random this game is. LOL

All the champions have black plus another hidden color under their skins. I use stronger colors against the hidden color of a champion and super rare dragons. It mostly works, but sometimes takes some attempts. My most successful dragons against champions are Triceraptus, Dawntree, Pegasus (Fuzzy and White Rose), Scarecrow, Nano and perhaps another champion. Hope it is helpful to others. Of course, there is still a lot of randomness in the final results. Patience is required. Good luck to everyone.

Champion color splits into black and red. Color splitting applies to breeding though, not arena. In arena "champion" is a color just as "diamond", "red", and "zodiac" are colors. Any dragon can win against the champs, if you battle enough times. Against champs everything has about the same chance, so if you always follow the same strategy and use only certain dragons, they will eventually win for you but it really is just the underlying chances for almost every dragon being the same.

But I do think it helps to have a strategy, cuz it's boring as heck using level 1 fire dragons over and over. Since any dragon can win, any strat can work, as long as you can heal the exhausted ones.

Good evening everyone! Long day in the real world today. But I managed to finish 4 more rounds. Hope to get a couple more in tonight:

22) Quetzal 3 beat Black Diamond 14 Bb (Lost to Queztal 3 first time with mbm but was really, really close.
While Quetzal was in the spa I tried White Rose 8 and lost.)

Marshmallow was actually my first choice but thought I'd try another dragon I hadn't won with in the tournament.
Lesson learned, always go with your first choice.

Round 22 was the first time I put a dragon that lost it's battle back into the arena to face that same opponent. In reading some of the posts it was suggested that if a round was really close to heal the dragon and try again. And it worked for me in this round.

Thought I would have a more difficult time with these rounds than I did but very happy that was not the case. However, there are many battles ahead so I'm sure there is that one dragon waiting for me that will have me banging my head against the wall. ;)

My experience is quite different from yours. I find that solid colours like forest, water, metal work for me if diamond, infinity and passion don't. Just shows how random this game is. LOL

There is not much of a difference, except that water works for you. Forest has green, so also Dawntree (Forest is common but DT is super rare, so I use DT). Metal works for you, so also Nano for me (Nano is super rare, so I use it.) Water works for you, I select Immortal in its place which has water element. I have traded Immortal and got a large sapphire with a large Onyx, so I guess that Immortal has water element. I think we follow the same approach. LOL

Hehe, i'd say it's more "clever marketing" than "fair" when it comes to letting players have an easy start and make sure they stay playing, and later on show them how things really work.:D

My first tournaments were by far the cheapest ones i've done - on the very first one i spent a lot of time playing though, but i won that and the 2nd i entered. Then the 3rd one was a failure, not sure now what i got stuck on, but after that all lotteries i've entered has been more expensive than the previous one, despite improving my dragons constantly....you'd expect that competition would get easier the stronger team you have, but that's not how DS works for me. Oh well, interesting seeing how this goes..had decided to give a certain Champion 5 attempts n then quit because i really don't need more Champs that bad, instead i started off by misclicking Ultimate.... *whaps self on head*:)

Epic Infinity defeated Epic Razorback in Round 25 after many epic losses (Diamond, Passion, Infinity, Naga, Big Bad, Gilded, Metal, Fire, Pyramid and probably some others).

I feel your pain, Cirque wiped out aaaall my lvl10 dragons that would be best to use against it. Then a lvl7 champion finally won. I can't believe Cirque gave me more grief than the champions :D

Cirque's level is high enough that the level of your dragon doesn't matter. Champions are the best choice. If you don't have any left, Gemstone and its hybrids are good, especially Jade. Good luck!

Try water or forest. I found magic worked best. Has worked on lots of my champions in this tournament (I play 2 games) and in previous games.

I do sympathise :) I dont have any champions and so I totally feel for you .. if you dont have ultra rares you are as likely to hit it with any dragon - so try hatching something quick and see what happens . I got ninja with a level 1 fire just hatched .. its all down to luck - good luck with yours !

Quetzal is green so try attacking with Red, Mythic, Dino, Gemstone, Royal, Champ.


Choose the most super rare you have, preferably an expired dragon. You can also try using baby fires, sometimes they get lucky while your better dragons are healing.

To both of you: I don't have any ultra rares either. :( At this point, it's just luck for us. All the dragons have a (low) chance of winning, so we just have to keep trying! The best bet is probably to attack the green element with Red, Mythic, Dino, or Gemstone.
