Collecting from buildings

I did not find this question in the FAQs, so asking here. I am only at level 11, so not sure of many things.

If I don't collect from buildings when the coin appears on them, will I lose out? Lets say the building pays 10 coins every 2 hours. If I collect after 4 hours will I get 20 coins in one go or will it only give 10 coins? What about the XP?

If I put the building in storage, I assume I'll lose out on the coins - am I right?

Not sure about the money increasing, I don't think it does, when it is ready to collect it stays at that amount until collected.
Storing buildings does lose the coins, it also resets the timer, so if it pays out every 2 hours and you store it 2 mins before it is due to be collected, then when you take it out of storage it will be 2 hours again till you can collect.
The same holds true for upgrading, the timer gets reset, so a 2 hour building with 1 minute to go till collection, if you upgrade it, then the timer is reset.
