Ya i lost my first two tickets too. But also a ticket booth popped up in one of my devices for purchase for 150 gold which gives out tickets every 4 hours but it didn't pop up in the market place of my other device, both are iOS. Is this yet another beta testing item given out only randomly?

I feel your pain Knuffel & Hugpete. My Epic Chocolate lost to CrownPrince & so did my Epic Kitsune. I know there is a 10% chance they will lose, but that doesn't make it any easier. Hopefully this means it will be smooth sailing in the later rounds for us.

I didn't have a Diamond and finished the two tournaments I've entered so far. And you don't need epic dragons to win. This is my third tournament. I get a lot of helpful tips from the friendly folk here. Good luck! :)

Sapphire Isles Battle Report

Things have been going swimmingly on my island, with gemstones doing well. Sapphire blasted melody with a single magic, and Quartz has beaten crownprince, daisy and pinata.

As habitat buddy lightning had just lost to pinata, there are a few bets being placed on how lightning reacts when he gets out of the spa. Being an enLightened dragon, he likely won't mind losing to the dragon who lost to a girl in a single hit. :)

Kaleido won both fights against firemane and lunar horse, and resisted the temptation to comment on lightning's loss, the only loss so far. Rainbow trounced spirit and Mummy had an easy quick win against onyx, another one-hit blowout. I dunno what's happened to them all, I never have this many one shots in any tournament. Prolly all excited that the circus is in town!

I must say this lottery has started off in an unusually logical way for me, and apparently for a few others too - after 11 rounds i've had no idiotic losses at all, no weak lvl1 dragon that has crushed my lvl10 Champs or such, very nice indeed!

On the other hand i keep forgetting to battle, i've sped up arena some and could've come a lot further - same goes for the world event, at 56 tickets just now so not very impressive hmm...well, i guess my brain either is quite confused, or finally has gotten priorities straight lol! :D

Hmm i guess i was just lucky then - but hoping that TL would've tweaked the battle system to function more logical for all would've been naive i guess...well i hope you get a good flow later on instead now that you've had a couple silly losses!

I had my first loss against Wraith, it beat up my Black Knight 10, but next attempt was more successful - i saw bzoo19 had used Atlantis to win against Wraith, and whether it was random luck or something else it worked for me too.

Lightning struggled again, barely defeating Viking on the third hit. Touch of the flu! Do dragons get flu?

Lily sent raven off to be seen nevermore, and Valentine just finished off Cerberus. And that's how the tourney is going on my island. :) Only one loss so far and past the halfway point! After not finishing the last tourney and not being able to get enough bluebells, I am glad it's going smoothly this time.

General experience seems to be that they don't win much until level 10, for a lot of people. Neither of my level 9 champs win - my sentinel won more at level 7 than 9. Maybe if you have the food try to get it to epic? It's a day to evolve but then you have it for final battles. Unless like me you are doing the 20 hour crop for circus - I am down to less than 1000 food!

I set an alarm on my phone for a minute before when the arena is ready. When it goes off, I move it out an hour and then go battle. Nerdy? Yes, but I rarely miss battles!


i saw bzoo19 had used Atlantis to win against Wraith, and whether it was random luck or something else it worked for me too.
I beat Wraith with Atlantis in a previous battle or tourney, so I will be trying it again (in 30 mins!).


Do dragons get flu?
Assuming that dragons are reptiles--no, they wouldn't get the flu. But if we think they are like dinosaurs, which evolved into birds, then certainly they could! The flu did originate in ducks after all.


Btw, my Emerald Knight, level 9 and so hard fought for, sucks! It loses nine out of ten times!
Same with my Razorback. He's still not doing great. I've tracked every single battle he's ever fought in, and only ever battled with him at level 10, but he's still only won 35% of the battles.

So far I've won 12, lost 4. 177 tickets (140 coming from farms in 7 hours). Just bred a Titan, which I guess is good and bad. Ties up my den, but I don't have one yet and it'll bring in lots of tickets...eventually. Got an Amethyst waiting for a nest too. And my spa is completely empty!!!

Lighting is doing well, only 1 loss in 5 battles and that was a fluke (round 1). I'm holding off on using my Champ for as long as possible..not that he's a good fighter, but I want to try to win as much as I can without him. Here're the last few rounds.

I wonder why some people's champs win all the time and other ones don't even win 50-50? That seems really odd, even given that all the accounts seem to be set differently for different things. But I don't get it - what would be the point of some champs winning most of the time and some winning rarely? The ones we fight in the arena obviously have the "win high" settings!

Try level 6-8 stuff on the first 5-10 rounds. Some people have better luck with them than epics. But even if you don't spend gold, you can still get 5 gold for winning round 15, and get some craft parts. What I do beyond that if I know I'm not likely to finish is battle every 2 hours - one dragon is healed when the next gets exhausted and no line in healing spa. You can also use level 1 fire and forest if you have a nest free - when they lose, sell them and buy another. Sometimes you get the lucky hit on round 20 for another 5 gold.

With this tournament it's taught me that before the next one I should take my Easter egg dragon out of storage and make it epic, seems it would've helped with less confusion on who to choose with some of these rounds. Last time I learned to get some epic or high level gemstones and that's helped this time around BUT having an epic topaz would've (again) made things easier, so will have to craft one of those too. Too many dragons!:D :x

True - all the battle-worthy dragons - like Amber, Easter Event Dragons, Eygptian event dragons - all have more than 24 hour evolution time and evoving them to epic takes forever.. and new dragons keep getting added to the collection every month.. Like, now with Circus dragons coming in, i don't think any of my Easter dragons will be adults anymore..

I had a really hard time with round 18 too - that is one tough (misleadingly named!) pansy lol. It wiped the floor with my level 9 sapphire twice and level 7 ruby, sunburst, and black rose. Finally got it with epic lotus. Good luck if you are still fighting it!

Level usually doesn't matter much on most of the rounds, but sometimes a dragon who doesn't have the best colors but is a little higher level can get you the win. Usually even if the other dragon is higher level than yours you can win, but sometimes it's worth sending even a common dragon if that's your best epic. There's no actual reason strategically why this is so, but the best dragon on paper isn't always the winner. :)

Sometimes you need to match rarity - do you have anything removed/retired? The super rare dragons like morning glory are just as good as removed ones, except when they aren't lol. It's really like gambling - sometimes you just get that bad luck streak and a dragon that should be your best chance just will not win, try after try. Probability is really very weird lol.

Edit: If you don't have lightning album reward, it is really worth it to try to get it. Were you able to get any of the pink/yellow Easter ones? Other possible non breedable ones recently maybe mischief, or amethyst, both are strong against the blue.

Okay.... Stuck on emerald knight.... Lost about 3-4 battles with epic razorback and lvl 9 EK. I know it's round 20 and it's always a hard round, and I have plenty of time this time... So just gonna keep using my champions and my epic infinity (it's great in the arena and won almost the whole of my first tournament for the razorback!). Let's see where that gets me. I'm not going to Ultimate anything this tournament over a rare purple green dragon since I have mardi gras and familiar. But I still want it and I'm going to battle hard for it! Good luck everyone!

You know what though, they keep coming out with other stuff just as good. Since you have lily, she can be used for most battles where you need green-white or purple-white - so even if you missed white rose, bride from valentines, and boo from Halloween, use lily. April fool's had mischief - same colors as headless from Halloween. If you missed all the purple-greens witch, zombie and whatever I'm forgetting - then hopefully you win tourney. :)

The pink-white valentine and chocolate were good, but melody and tiny are both breedable. If you pair virtue plus red-white-blue like good witch, you also have the chance at diamond without adding too many other possibilities. Plus a chance for blue moon, and super rare or better blue-white dragons are hugely useful. But for Cerberus you meant the pink-white right?

Edit: the three color dragons like skeleton, spider are rarely any better than 2-color ones, just every once in a while the colors match perfect and they are best choice. But at the rate TL releases dragons, there will be something else. :) but I do hope we get acrobat though, I don't have lightmare.

I've had a few losses but I am up to round 19 on both accounts. I've been using epic Emerald Knight in this account and he has won a few rounds, so I have just fed up and put him in for evolution to epic on my other account.

I don't really need this underworld dragon, so I think I will just see how far I get without gold....that's the plan anyway.

April fool's had mischief - same colors as headless from Halloween. If you missed all the purple-greens witch, zombie and whatever I'm forgetting - then hopefully you win tourney. :)

The pink-white valentine and chocolate were good, but melody and tiny are both breedable. If you pair virtue plus red-white-blue like good witch, you also have the chance at diamond without adding too many other possibilities. Plus a chance for blue moon, and super rare or better blue-white dragons are hugely useful.

Thanks so much! Plenty of dragons to try for. I am glad for my Lily and of course the Easter dragons. I missed Mischief and my only purple-green is Poison haha, though I have Aurora. I have Melody on my other account but so far she has not proved useful.

More losses to Emerald Knight, but since it is a lottery I shall keep trying :)

Glad you got it, congrats!! My rainbow wins a LOT and has from very early on even when she wasn't epic. When I didn't have a lot of dragons at the beginning, I relied a lot on rainbow, lightning, and lotus.

I chose my young Mythic first to go against Emerald Knight since he won the tournament for me against Emerald Knight. He was only at level 3 that time. He's been evolved waiting to be traded in but guess he's a little weak from going through the evolution and not getting more food while his big brother, who has never seen battle, just gets to kick back his heels and relax.

But I have to say I love my girls this tournament. That's two dragons so far that had back to back battles and came through for me. :D

I have no intention to spend another weekend with TL ans DS. They are no longer my favourites :(,
For 2 weeks I was trying for Hunter/Troll with Quetzal/Night and got 12 Islands, 5 Corals, 4 Serpent and 1 Mistmoth.
This breeding pair was supposed to have 18 offsprings.
There is definitely a problem with TL developing team, they are simply not capable of programming this game any way better :(.

You are so so right, I was thinking the same thing :) Well my diamond is 9 and I threw it in evolve to help me later on as we have a few days, so am waiting it out ... We shall see how long my patience holds out. My Big Bad though came through for me on 18..he's been a trooper, saved my behind in 16 too. Ruby however has a lot of explaining to do..maybe she's mad that she didn't get as much food as her neighbors:confused:
