Oppoenent left game and yet i lost

Yesterday, my opponent left the game and it told me that opponent left and yet I lost the game. Happened once before, why it this?

Don't think this is a connection issue as did not get waiting for opponent message and I didn't quit the game

There does seem to be some connection issues with the game.
