I know I have had 300,000 before but I am sure you can go much higher.

I don't think there is a limit or one that will be reached any time soon. You can have more than 1,000,000 food for sure though.

I had this same question. I have been working on getting over the 1 mil mark. I got as high as 645,000 but had to evolve a number of dragons in a hurry for the Battle Arena. It was my 2nd Tournament and it was brutal!!!

Wow, you must be on Android! Food is way too expensive to have that much on iOS! It's 20 gold for 5,200 pieces on my level, more on lower levels! And it costs 75,000 coins and 5 hours to grow 800 pieces.

I don't think food costs differ on iOS or Android, does it? I'm on Android and my Diamondates cost 75k coins for 800 food too.
Had close to 300,000 food last month, but then I mass fed my hungry hungry dragons. xD The max food must be really really high for this game.. I'm guessing high millions? 999 999 999? lol

Or the newer dragons that are released only on IOS eat massive quantities of food. Some dragons eat maybe 125k food to level to Epic. The only way to stockpile food and money is to only feed baby dragons for bombs.

I just read on another thread that Android prices to feed Dragons has stayed low. iOS has not. Most of the Champions require 12,500 per feeding at level 9. 7,000 per feeding at level 8, and so on. Special or limited Dragons are either the same, or take 10,000 per feeding at level 9, and 5,600 at level 8.
That means to move from level 9 to Epic takes 50,000- 62,500 in food for 1 Dragon to go up one level.
They start at different amounts between 2 to 50 per feeding at hatching, but escalate soon.
It's almost impossible to feed one to Epic without buying food or winning some in mining game.
