Pink Alicorn Energy Drop

I've had my pink alicorn for a while, and it usually drops about 5 energy at a time (I believe this is standard). But the other day when I checked my alicorn, I looked away, only to find that my total energy had jumped to 132. I have a max of 40, and wasn't checking anything else that gives energy at the time (trades, adventures, etc.)
I was wondering, is this a glitch? In the days since, my alicorn has given its standard 5 energy. Or is the potential drop rate much higher than I had considered?

Definitely not a glitch. The pink alicorn is a bit immature so it can drop the low amounts but sometimes it can drop 10, 20, 50 or 100.
