How do I catch bass?

I was wondering how I get bass now that using spicy bait brings tuna and salmon. I don't know why the game gives me tuna and salmon since I don't have a sushi shop and I'm not even at a high enough level to buy tuna and salmon in the market! So they're useless to me, but that's all I seem to get. However, I really need bass for the train, and I cannot manage to catch bass anymore. I have to buy most of my bass from other farms, which takes forever because you have to go to a ton of other farms before finding one.

I get bass , catfish and sometimes a brick when I use spicy bait with no hot spot.

I get tuna and salmon when I use spicy bait whether I use a hot spot or not. :(

I generally use anchovy bait and dough baits, and have managed to acquire bass on a semi-regular basis, and not always in the hot spots. I also get a lot of catfish and anchovies. Perhaps using the other baits will increase your chances of not getting the tuna and salmon and instead getting the bass?
