Fashion Update: 4-29-14

New update items:

LTO - 33 gems.
mannequin - 18 gems - really wish all you guys didn't praise this item all that much, now we got mannequin priced 2-3 times what it should've cost, blah..
2 new types of tiles - 1 gems each.
taj mahal poster - 71,000 coins.
indian mirror - 80,000.
new eye makeup: racoon eyes- in blue and brown - 12 gems each.
and an ugly new catalogue, too bad it doesn't match the mannequin, her outfit is lovely and would've made a pretty catalogue. Love the new bracelets though, they're for coins and go on the wristlet hand.

I really wanted the Mother's Day theme to continue, I spent so many gems on that update last week, hope they bring more related items next update.

Here is the mannequin. 18 gems.

I do like the LTO a lot too, the wallpaper is gorgeous but I wish they had offered one for gems and one for coins. I'm not spending gems on wallpaper. The tiles are nice and I might get them once I've seen them in another shop.

I don't mind the catalogue, 18 hours is a long time! I guess when we see it out on the racks and tables we will be able to get a better look at it. Sure the outfit on the mannequin would have been nicer but hey.

It's a good update, we asked for Bollywood and we got it. It's bright and there is lots of choice so thanks TL.

Lol. I checked the calendar link on the forum assuming it would be the current month. Nope it was December last year. I've fixed the title. Will have to do it for a couple of other threads. :o

She doesn't look that white, she's not pasty nor fair. But she is a bit too light skinned, however (like the Philippines, I should know) it's a trend to be light skinned.

And at least 2 catalogs or 3 *fingers crossed* Bangles lots and lots arms loaded. Pretty face makeup with they eyes done. Maybe even an nose piercing.

Well not really "Caucasian", it's not like we'll lose our brown eyes, full lips and full cheekbones along with whitening our skin. And our skin doesn't really look fair "Caucasian" just pasty white, we look more Chinese than anything to be honest :/. I personally hate this trend, I like being naturally tan.

Some people sound very ignorant. There are many fair skinned, with blue and green eyed Indians. It isn't a dad, they are how they are. I've been dying for an Indian/bollywood theme to represent my family. If we get a ton of items Ill love to redo huge portions of my shop. This is exciting!

East Indians are considered to be Caucasian which has to do with skull and skeletal structure. They can range from fair to dark skinned and have blue eyes to dark brown. I'm of East Indian decent and while not "pasty" I'm fair skinned with green eyes...straight nose, high cheekbones. My dad is darker/tanned skinned, same features and same color eyes.

I haven't been this excited for an update in ages!! I am now extremely glad I didn't buy any of the Easter items, I will have lots of gems to spend on Bollywood! If I'm lucky, I will also just have gotten my 7.5 mil expansion, so I'll have reason and room to redecorate! And I have next Friday off, so I can spend hours doing it if I want. yay!! :D I hope we get a lot of floor d?cor and wall d?cor and everything!

I didnt like the catalogue I wish it was the one on the mannequin. Btw why they dont release the clothes on mannequins as catalogues?? This one looks as a bad 5 de mayo interpretation, not pretty and bollywood at all.

I don't like anything but the mannequin in this update but even the mannequin is too expensive. I haven't seen the LTO yet. The new eyes are expensive too and look a little weird.make my avatar look kind of evil. I'm very annoyed with all those long catalogues, it takes forever to earn gems from those catalogues! We need more 4-5 hours or shorter catalogues!

Hoping for a different theme next week.

I did think 18 gems was a lot for the mannequin but 33 for the LTO is reasonable.

I'm not of this heritage but surrounded by it in the area I live in and the owners of the business I work at are Indian I've seen pictures not attended any of there events and the women always have the eyes done up and traditional clothing, Not henna always a lot of young women engaged and newly marrried I noticed tend to wear the arms loaded with bangles for a short time must be some parts of tradition I never have ask, in different regions of India, they're beautiful people with beautiful customs. I welcome this, and hope we get a couple more weeks of updates from this.. Also the women I've heard that are married here US or Canada I don't know about all have there wedding dress made and shipped here for them custom made the weight on these are tremendous with all the bead work, My manager/owner where I work when I started he was just getting married same month, his wife is only 5'3" and weighed I guess 115 lbs not much her dress was double the weight of her body weight how she walked that day I'll never know, I remember him saying after he came back discussing the wedding was the head pieces she wore made difficlut to wear and hold your head up. also traditional is red for wedding they don't wear white..

P.S. Glad the LTO has some men in it ;)

I had such high hopes for this update, but the complete lack decor, and many other things left me disappointed. We rarely get cultural updates and it's something I'd love to see more of, but this update was executed poorly. That being said, I really like the catalog and the new make up is kinda nice. I love the mannequin even though it is pretty pricey. The LTO is pretty cute too. Hopefully we see a more satisfying continuation of this theme next week. Like jojo said Indians have such a rich culture and beautiful customs, it's a shame TL didn't go all out with this theme.

The catalog is something I don't favor. Not because it's hideous, no not that but because it not Indian! This is something a Brazilian would wear to Carnival! Not an Indian Bollywood star! I had such high hopes, crushed and broken. Next week has to make up for it!

I was also trying to understand what is the point of the LTO this week, not really sure what is going on there. I realy like the design of both girl characters in it, they look cute, hair, face and all; not much the outfits though. Don't really like boys in a fashion display though, would've probably bought it if it was all fashionably dressed ladies.

Well the colors are bold but I wouldn't say contrasting. Be happy they didn't put blue and orange or red and green into the mix... or worse YELLOW AND PURPLE, ugh, just thinking about that color combo makes me want to throw up. I like the loudness and boldness, it's screams PARTAY. I think I'd buy it for Cinco de Mayo... but maybe not because I obviously have other things to invest my gems for.

Ok, it seems so far I'm the only Indian fashion story player :) So giving my 2 cents, I honestly think that teamlava did a great job. For the catalog they not only got the bangles (which is essential) but they got the gold joomka earrings which is a classic earring. Although, I've gotta say that they should have either done a lengha (skirt) with a top or pants with the kamize (dress) because it does seem a little odd that she has no pants :P lol

All in all I'm pleased :)

Unlike many players, I didnt have much expectation as regards this update - I'm not into Bollywood at all. That may be the reason why - still unlike many players!!! - I was rather pleased by what we got, esp the LTO. Precisely, nothing too Bollywoodesque. I particularly liked the the male presence, as well as the steps. I bought it at once to use as an addition to the ecclectic display, so as to make a real, long runway - and all in all I'm rather pleased with the result :))))

I didn't have a high expectation on this theme. But it still turned up not bad. The LTO is nice but not sure if it's worth to get since my gems are kinda low now. I think the catalog is alright, the mannequin is pretty but pricey!

Not forgetting this update yet..lol I've already got design ideas for Christmas I think the colours in the LTO will work well for Christmas. I'll have a Bollywood Christmas lol.
