Sunburst beaten by Epic Black night. I would say round 25 till 30 hardest with me in this tournament especially round 25 & 27. Goodluck and im sending my good vibes to all still battling here :-) Congrats to all who finished already!!!

This tournament is a joke

Well, the combat system is at least, but overall it's really just a lottery - it would be nice if tactics and s****s were more important and not overruled by randomness or preset odds so much, but i don't think one can expect that much from a free to play app game i'm afraid.

Round 30: Sunburst beaten by Black Knight 10, after Dynasty 10 had failed.

I lost track of how many losses i've had but they were a few lol, and i used up a bunch of gold - somewhere round 80 i think, including one Ultimate. Still a lot of time left so i could've saved gold by not speeding up things, but it is nice saving a bit of weekend relaxation too! Good luck to all other winners, and the best of luck to you who still struggle - and if things end not so well remember that the tournaments will come again and again, and new fancy dragons will be sprinkled over us - missing out on some isn't a biggie! It is just a game anyway!:)

This tournament is a joke

I know how you feel especially being frustrated for so many battles with same type of dragon on and on and on. Which really annoying. I dont have diamond and champions that time so it was really tough to finish my tournament and then reading your neighbor moving on and finish they tourney. It add the frustration and annoying about this game. But once you finish one long tournament you will feel great and very happy to accomplished. I remember my first win was Ethereal dragon tournament. I was in your shoes before but i can assure you it will get better soon.

My advice is just keep playing with your dragons go with the flow. as majkulos said is only one of those tournament and soon after a week or two a new dragon will be on our tournament again.

im not saying that my tournament is better now but after a long breeding,evolving, healing and long battles my tournament is a little bit better because of my new dragons. i still struggle though and deal with the randomness of this games..

But other than i still love this game and i like to keep going.. Tournament is only one part of this game...

I had a queue forming for healing with the unicorn having defeated my blacks and paladin and the elf didn't work for me so sent my level 2 virtue dragon in and 2 magics did the trick - neat graphic too sword thru the heart :-D

Thanks for the encouragement! You must be a good luck charm or something, because not 10 minutes after I read this message, I tried again with my Epic Fairy (because why not?) and I won in TWO HITS. I don't usually log into the forum but I am a big fan of all the great players and appreciate your advice. Just wanted to document that I lost to Immortal 35 times over 2 full days before I gave up and blitzed him just now. That may be where the 10% comes from in the battle arena, while we see lots of wins with less than 10 tries, ya think? Next time there isn't a super rare at stake, I will see how long it will take. I rebooted several times, too. Ah, it was good for me, to try to have fun anyway. Lol!

Just wanted to document that I lost to Immortal 35 times over 2 full days before I gave up and blitzed him just now. That may be where the 10% comes from in the battle arena, while we see lots of wins with less than 10 tries, ya think? Next time there isn't a super rare at stake, I will see how long it will take. I rebooted several times, too. Ah, it was good for me, to try to have fun anyway. Lol!

For the first 19 battles, I used mostly 3 dragons - a pink-yellow (usually lightning), a blue-white(mostly ice cream, though I did go for independence on black rose), and cosmic. Other than those Emerald x2, red-green, red-blue, and a platinum.

Okay... So round 20 - passion finally wins after rehealing and a few other dragons.

Round 21, a pink diamond, weak to black. Several loses and then ninja actually wins something! I was shocked! But he's lost 2x so far to gold, so prolly a fluke.

Round 22, yellow diamond weak to ... Black? Again? And pink - with diamond, the hardest colors to breed?

So, let's see what blacks I have... Secret level 6, won in tourney. Black rose level 6, bought on sale. Lotus, epic, crafted. I do have a night, that splits unless it's giving me a Leo dragon. I have 2 of those.

Lotus keeps losing. Lightning losing. Ninja losing. I've been making my way through the few pinks I have (pink-yellow, pink-purple, pink-white - can't get anything else, it is always a love dragon, and I try quite a bit using pink when going for diamond).

And I see post after post of people using the SAME dragon to win over and over, often on the first try??? Are you kidding me? The few posts of a non-champ or diamond winning - it's with a dragon with weak or neutral colors to pink or yellow. WEAK colors to pink and yellow??? What?

So I check the upcoming dragons - 4 more????? If I manage to get through gold, and had about a WEEK or 150 gold, yeah I think I'd have a chance to finish. Out - Of - Your - Minds - TL!!!

Round 21 a diamond hybrid weak to black. Or fairytale like HOOK, one of many black hybrids I can't breed. I tried big bad x2, but since fairytale back in the game he is weaker on our side and stronger as opponent. Or yeah, there's treasure and gemstone - the two colors weakest to diamond!!! Let's make that level 21 and then follow up with gold - weak to zodiac and cosmic with super rares that a lot of people can't get either! Plus the always splitting pink and black.

I am so disgusted, after winning against both a champ and a diamond,it's only level 22 and I seriously don't know what I'll use for the next battles, if I ever get through gold, cuz my best options for diamond and champs are all exhausted and I don't have gold for more than one ultimate. So it's baby brigade, when a nest is finally free, just waiting for the lucky hit, 7 of the last 11 battles all about getting the lucky hit. You have got to be kidding me.

What exactly are those of us without diamonds supposed to do to win, especially if the color advantage to the diamond hybrid color isn't working?

I won't quit the game but will never spend gold on a tourney again

I cope with it just the other way really - i use my gold for nothing but the tournaments! I have decided to never buy anything from TL again because i feel that they should earn the rewards with some game improvements first (yes the "combat system" is main reason) and that's why i limit myself to spend what precious gold i get from goals, questing and awesome neighbors this way only.

I used to whimper more about the fact that ordinary ppl with a job or an otherwise busy real life often cannot run tournaments without using gold, but that is just the business-idea of the game and not much to do about - and after i realized this and started playing game this way it has gotten a lot more enjoyable, and actually free to play!

Well, good you're staying playing, and if you're not to use gold in tournaments again then i best wish you some extra luck for next one! :eek:

Just about to give up or ultimate too. Lost about 20x to Immortal. Wish there would be tournaments that ordinary players like me without diamonds or champs could get a shot at completing. I'd like to see fair battles where your opponent isn't next to impossible to beat.

Probably will give up since I cannot be using gold for the next 10 rounds. Even the venetian seems out of reach now. Good luck to those still fighting.

Thanks for the encouragement! You must be a good luck charm or something, because not 10 minutes after I read this message, I tried again with my Epic Fairy (because why not?) and I won in TWO HITS. Now I'm hoping my persistence will get me through the lv. 20 Templar, which has already defeated several of my poor dragons.

At 22 losses i would've ultimated long ago, but if not having enough gold or not wanting to use it that's not an option ofc. I'd use that lil Mummy, the Sphinx and Cleopatra too, anything has a chance to score random crit and the Egypt class is so new, who knows if it has some itsy-bitsy advantage...

But maybe using more baby troopers is better, takes time though (well it's taking time anyway i guess hmm). Maybe do that while healing up other dragons - like the Lotus one which in theory should have something of an edge because of its black even if it hasn't helped so far...

Ah well, i dunno, i don't like fighting the Diamond hybrids, for me they tend to be either real easy but more often super annoying! Wishing you best of luck!

I know the frustration and yet I have had plenty of time to battle, not missing an hour during waking hours.

I too have epic champions and diamonds and yet I have used one ultimate attack on this account and two on my other and I am about to use the third and still no where near finishing.

I don't mind spending some gold but if there is no chance of winning at all and battle after battle you lose, even ones which should be easy to win, then there is no enjoyment in playing the game at all.

I don't have this problem with normal arena battles - something just happens when the tournaments start and my dragons don't fight the same. When the odds are stacked against you the only choices you have are to pay the gold or not play.

After 35 battles, I would have used 2 Ultimates :D:D


The longest I ever went was 32 battles on one dragon....never again.

It is interesting to see how long it will actually take to beat a dragon and just goes to show you the randomness of this game when someone can win on one battle and someone else can't win with 35........or maybe not randomness :p

I just finished! I can't believe it! My first tournament! I only used 2 ultimates! I'm soo happy! Sending my luck to all who need it! ❤ I'm surprised at how easy (for me, this time around) the last 2 were. The level 20 dragons are very intimidating! I think it was a good tournament for me, being my first. It's about time I start battling and getting some of these craft-able, prize dragons. I agree with a lot of you that there rly is no strategy though, it's just funny that you think you have it figured out and it can just be pure luck a lot of the time. Well it's very late and I think I can sleep now knowing that I have finished the tournament, and with plenty of time. Lol! ❤

haha, I guess I'm having the same frustration as everyone. I just recently beat the gold dragon, but now I am stuck on quartz since I have no diamonds. Gold took me two days to beat at 10% chance every time. That's about 30 fights I guess. But I guess that's to even out the wins i got for the flash tourney for vampire, about 1~2 for all dragons.

I hear your frustration. But don't think that if you had the diamonds you would be able to win. I don't think it has anything to do (really) with the dragons you are using because if that was the case, we would all be winning easy with certain dragons. The odds are stacked elsewhere.

You can't breed Champion dragons, they are only offered as prizes in tournaments. Next time you see a champion as a prize particularly a super rare one, that is the time to use some gold to win the tournament to get the dragon.


Other dragons good in touraments are the ultra rare diamonds which are very difficult to breed and the super rare dragons. You have more chance of breeding these. At the moment Dawntree, a super rare limited green dragon is available to breed for a limited time. Everyone who battles should be breeding this one, I know I have said it a few times in this thread :p :pIt will only be available for a few days I think, so don't miss out.

To breed it use Forest and Forest. If you only have one, buy another egg, hatch it and evolve it. It only takes 20 seconds. Keep breeding the two Forests until you get 26 hours in the den. You may get a lot of 20 seconds forest fails. You just need a bit of time and patience but you can get it fairly easily.

I saw that too! I didn't have much luck with lotus, but normally it's very strong for me in arena. This is a weird tourney it seems like. I think your best bet is baby brigade while you heal the dragons you'll need later - hatch a fire, use it to fight, if it loses sell it and hatch another one. Just level 1 fire over and over.

I am one fight ahead of you - I just took out gold with a level 1 forest. Sigh. The first hit took about 90% of health, almost one shot him. Might need him on Venetian too. Good luck!

No, unfortunately. Not really sure how to breed those or most of the specialty ones. I got a metal and royal one by complete fluke. They're still babies though.
Hmm... the champion types are unbreedable. We get them from craft and tournaments. By the way foe celtic have u tried lightning, landworm, flower, topaz, ruby? I won against yellow and green type from the past battles. Good luck :)

I saw that too! I didn't have much luck with lotus, but normally it's very strong for me in arena. This is a weird tourney it seems like. I think your best bet is baby brigade while you heal the dragons you'll need later - hatch a fire, use it to fight, if it loses sell it and hatch another one. Just level 1 fire over and over.

I am one fight ahead of you - I just took out gold with a level 1 forest. Sigh. The first hit took about 90% of health, almost one shot him. Might need him on Venetian too. Good luck!

I don't have a diamond. D: My dragons are listed in my signature.

My advice after this tournament is concentrate to get your diamond until you get one don't breed any new dragon until you get your diamond. By doing this you'll be able to breed too the rest of ultra rare dragons.

I saw your list dragon breed it with firestorm and your any tricolor dragons like your scarecrow dragon.

Or search in our forum about to breed diamond dragon it show the list of combos how our neighbor get their diamond. I think most of them try island and firestorm on the other side and other side is any different dragons. I use tricolor for mine.

One thing I noticed too is that most of us there always a a dragon with fire element with them like firestorm, planet.

Of course a lot of fails again. Just be patience!!!

I don't usually log into the forum but I am a big fan of all the great players and appreciate your advice. Just wanted to document that I lost to Immortal 35 times over 2 full days before I gave up and blitzed him just now. That may be where the 10% comes from in the battle arena, while we see lots of wins with less than 10 tries, ya think? Next time there isn't a super rare at stake, I will see how long it will take. I rebooted several times, too. Ah, it was good for me, to try to have fun anyway. Lol!

I fought Immortal 41 times this tourney, finally beat him with a level 9 Pyramid and didn't use Ultimate attack, but it was tough to resist. It's strange how sometimes it just doesn't feel balanced, almost like the game has decided you cannot win certain tourneys unless you spend gold, no matter how determined you are to not do so. Maybe this is because I have bought gold in the past so the game thinks I will probably do it again. We will see how it goes, as now I appear to be stuck on Unicorn as well.

Wow I salute you too 41 battles I can't do that for sure my patience is very low especially if I got a gold to spend for ultimate il do it:-). I don't know if just me but each I use ultimate I find it my the rest of my tourney get easy for me to beat the rest of the dragons. I'm not saying all of them still I got hard time but not into extent of long battles in a one dragon..

Against a level 20 Templar, all dragons, no matter what color, level, rarity, etc. have a 10% chance. (Actually I think it's less than that.) It doesn't matter. Breed some baby Fires and use them, then sell them when they lose so you don't have to heal them. I have won as often with babies as with epics.

Good luck, I've reached the final level. This is the first tournament that I've hit 30 with a day to go. I'm hoping I will get through the last level without using ultimate (it will be the first time I didn't have to ultimate to finish)

I doubt you will be able to do it either. I do wish you all the luck though, you may get a break. This has been a very tough tournament! I have already used 3 ultimates (one was on Templar) and now I am stuck on Crusader - so 3 dragons to go in just over 24 hours. I've already spent the money now, so I am going to have to go all the way now.

Templar is also the one who give me hard times but beat him with my Amazon using magic only..

I also beat him with my passion MBM & my immortal BBB in the past.

Have you tried scorpion or royal sometimes it works by using magic I'm

I've lost to the Infinity twice already, but I have the time to wait it out before using Ultimate, so I think I'm going to do that. Basically, my strategy is to keep re-healing my poor, exhausted Diamond and then throwing it into the arena every chance I get, and during hours that it's only half-healed, throwing something random at Infinity on the off chance I win by sheer dumb luck. I figure that alternating Diamond and non-Diamond dragons should EVENTUALLY give me a win some time in the next two days. (What I wouldn't give for another Diamond or a Diamond hybrid... that's my next goal after this tournament. Breed my diamond A LOT.)

Sunburst shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've got several "healthy" dragons that are strong against it ready to fight once I get past the infinity.

Good thing I'm mostly sitting around the house alone getting paperwork and housework done this weekend... (I actually have my phone set to go off every hour to remind me to try and fight again... I have a problem.... I know...)

I think this tournament has just been a very difficult one - 7 rounds of luck is hard to overcome. Even the small advantage from color is pretty meaningless in the late rounds, since the levels are so high. Though at least you're at the last champ so if you can get past him, there is always a chance the others go down quicker. But with a champ and a couple more diamond hybrids to go, and each can take a day or more - this tournament really needs good luck to be able to finish it.

My advice after this tournament is concentrate to get your diamond until you get one don't breed any new dragon until you get your diamond. By doing this you'll be able to breed too the rest of ultra rare dragons.

I saw your list dragon breed it with firestorm and your any tricolor dragons like your scarecrow dragon.

Or search in our forum about to breed diamond dragon it show the list of combos how our neighbor get their diamond. I think most of them try island and firestorm on the other side and other side is any different dragons. I use tricolor for mine.

One thing I noticed too is that most of us there always a a dragon with fire element with them like firestorm, planet.

Of course a lot of fails again. Just be patience!!!

Thanks for the advice. I've been trying to breed a diamond, but take time off for the limited dragons. I got the Mischief and Dawntree, so that was nice, but with the diamond tries all I get is fails. Alas.

Congrats to those who won!

My sympathies to those stuck in bad luck bay. It took me a few tries on Venetian. Even after healing epic lightning it was going badly, but finally won with same pink-yellow color with my newly leveled kaleido 7. Yep, that pink-yellow epic lightning non-breedable dragon was clearly inferior to a pink-yellow level 7 non-breedable.

So since then it's been prism for however many hours. Atlantis, serpent, various blues and greens of whatever level and some level 1 forest. Even tried a level 3 mummy. Not really seeing the point of the last 11 rounds of the tournament if the colors and level just don't matter. I could throw darts at my phone and have better odds of hitting the target from two rooms away.

I beat Infinity with Quetzal (lost Diamond)

I just finished! I can't believe it! My first tournament! I only used 2 ultimates! I'm soo happy! Sending my luck to all who need it! ❤ I'm surprised at how easy (for me, this time around) the last 2 were. The level 20 dragons are very intimidating! I think it was a good tournament for me, being my first. It's about time I start battling and getting some of these craft-able, prize dragons. I agree with a lot of you that there rly is no strategy though, it's just funny that you think you have it figured out and it can just be pure luck a lot of the time. Well it's very late and I think I can sleep now knowing that I have finished the tournament, and with plenty of time. Lol! ❤

Thanks for the advice. I've been trying to breed a diamond, but take time off for the limited dragons. I got the Mischief and Dawntree, so that was nice, but with the diamond tries all I get is fails. Alas.

If you only knew how many times I tried and try different combos I lost count already but I never give up and there eventually I got my first diamond after a very longggggggggggggggg wait..

I beat Crusader with Diamond on the 8th battle. I think it is your best chance. I've also beaten it with Clown in the past. Do you have a super rare yellow/blue to attack the red. Or any other super rare with yellow or blue while you are healing your diamond. Someone used Eagle this tournament.

I have a Seabreeze that's waiting to heal after it lost to Crusader. I'll try other super rare yellows as well. I have a Social, but that's a blue yellow so wasn't sure if that would work as well as a yellow. Thanks!

Yes Social would be good or any other yellow or blue you have which you dont need to heal, so you can keep Diamond in the spa until he learns how to fight properly :)

I think so, but also use some blue/yellow dragons too. I beat Crusader with my Seabreeze this time. Diamonds weren't working for me. Good luck!

Thank you to the users who posted their winnings without using champions and ultra rares. Without your results with "regular" dragons I wouldn't be sitting at level 30 right now.

I only lost 3 matches (using Templar :/) through round 19. Round 20 I lost twice and round 25 three times (again using Templar). But through the advice of this board I used pyramid for 20 and 25, then used a combination of pyramid, Atlantis, and landworm to get me to round 28.

I used ultimate on 28 and 29. Just didn't have time to deal with those behemoths. I saved gold from downloading other games then doing the gold related side quests.

So here I am at round 30 with enough time to throw cleopatra, mummy and Templar at sunburst, or use ultimate.

12 losses to Infinity. :( I'm out of diamonds now, and I had to use a baby this last time, so now my chances are even slimmer. Statistically, 96.2% of people who used the dragons I used would have beaten Infinity by now. I don't know whether I should use ultimate or not. I really don't like to use it till the last round, but if I wait too long to use it on Infinity, then I will have run out of time to battle Sunburst and will probably have to use one on him too. :-/

Well, after 13 losses to Infinity I'd had enough, so on the 14th try I used ultimate, ugh. But Sunburst went down easy, at least, on the first try. Night Elf went down about 6pm last night. I woke up for Crusader all through the night and it finally went down at 6am this morning on 4th try to Diamond. Then oh my god Infinity just went down with one hit. I almost fell off my chair I got such a shock lol! So am off to work and hopefully will get enough opportunity throughout the day to attack Sunburst. What a marathon :-D

I got it but had to use ultimate after I don't know how many fails. But after last fail and with just 20 mins left it was either use gold for speed ups or obliterate it so I chose to send it into oblivian and be done with it.

Hurrah I finished my first ever tournament. I had to use Ultimate on Crusader and Infinity but i'm pretty pleased with that. Before this tournament the furthest i've got is around round 20.

Well, after 13 losses to Infinity I'd had enough, so on the 14th try I used ultimate, ugh. But Sunburst went down easy, at least, on the first try. (Then I wished I had tried a few more times against Infinity since I still had a couple hours left! Unfortunately I couldn't have known that ahead of time. Oh well!)


That's happened to me before. The thing is if you don't use Ultimate you may end up not having enough time. It's a difficult one to call.

You got there in the end though :)

Better luck next time. Unfortunately for some people these tournaments are impossible to win unless using gold for ultimate attacks.
