Red petals: how do you farm yours?

I need 50 of these for a quest and another load for a faerie elixir, all I have is that 35 fam plant red terrilium I think and I know plant in a log gives some bit I rarely get any, how do you guys get yours because this is taking forever :(

I use Valentine plants (now gone from market), red trillium & multicolor hedge...Ivy sometimes gives some.

I do valentine plants, but recommend plants in a log and ferns for post-2013-Valentine players.

I am dealing with this as well. I do not want to spend gems on plants so I chop up grass patches, but it is taking FOREVER to get red petals. :(

I get my red petals mainly from a multi colored hedge, red trillium and sprite blossom.
The sprite blossom plant I got from an adventure and it drops white and red petals.
