Mythic Essence?

What is mythic essence used for? I got it from my pot of gold and I don't even see that it's something I can craft. Is it something I'll use later?

Why don't I have any mythic essence in my potion shop? I'm trying to upgrade the garden. I can't find Glimmer rafflesia
Or pitcher plants either.

My mythic essence showed up,after starting the adamant quest. Think I did about 3 parts until I got to forging adamant.
The glimmer plants are crafted in the greenhouse...but....you have to be on the quest for those plants to show up.
