Exactly all are the champions have same power,actually I starting to used Ninja b'coz pyramid colors we don't know yet,I don't wanna lose battle in early round,so decided to bring again in the Arena. He'd fantastically well so far, 18 wins out of 19 battles. I'm so happy.

So far my winning Lists of Sentinel dragon tournament are as follows,.

Tell me Kami what do you do that you always win so easily. Round 20 took you really only 2 rounds to win? The same was on last tournaments as well. Whats your secret?

This tourney, I lost 4 times against low lvl opponents, I had 90% chance to win each times and lost.

If I face a lvl 18-20 champion, it takes usually 20-30 times to defeat him.

It's going ok so far (ok jinxed it there...) but i see other complain about losing a lot even when they have 90% calculated chance of critting - i just say "welcome to the world of Dragon Story combat system" - it's nothing new! You have been lucky if you haven't had periods of that **** in earlier tournaments....

Just when I thought my healing spring was almost done with the backlog from the LAST tournament and all the arena battles I've been fighting to get my Templar helmets... another tournament! I've got at least one champion now, so maybe I won't have to spend any gold this time around... The advice on here about throwing lower level dragons at earlier enemies was really helpful!

Anyway, here are my results so far... only two losses in the first seven rounds, and I've managed to avoid spending any gold. I'm learning to really appreciate my Scarecrow and Fairy dragons!

Oh, and one more thing... when people record what attacks they used, what do they mean when they use "++"? Is that the ultimate attack?


You are doing well. After spending nearly a week healing dragons after a tournament (which just slows down battle arena progress in collecting craftables), I no longer go through all my dragons trying to find one that will win. With a tough oppononent I pick my strongest dragon and then just keep rehealing. While I am waiting for the dragon to reheal I will either use babies or another dragon which I don't need for later rounds so I don't need to reheal quickly.

++ indicates a big attack using bash or magic, one that is the critcal hit which wins the round, it's not the ultimate gold attack.

I was wondering exactly the same thing: I never have won a 10%-15% chance battle within atleast 20 rounds... usually I give up and ulti (or wait till the next tourney, because then the opponent changes). Don't have any Diamonds, but have multiple Champions.

Kami doesn't have any special secret, he just taps his finger on bash or magic and the rest is down to how the game plays.

If you observe these threads on tournaments and the ones on crafting you will see that some people consistently have very easy battles with few losses and others consistently have to fight many rounds to beat certain dragons. The consistency of this suggests this is not just down to luck.

My conclusion is that not all accounts are created equally. You can observe this across a number of Team Lava games where you can see obvious differences in how accounts differ in terms of prices, drop rates, success rates, gold and gem sales etc and the unfairness of it all. They are a business and are constantly doing market research to see what they need to do to maximize their gold/gem sales.

I have a very good collection of dragons, including champions, diamond hybrids and a lot of super rare epics and yet I still lose fairly consistently, usually beginning with round 1. This tournament took 3 battles to defeat the first dragon, a level 1. I keep a tally of my losses during tournaments and it usually takes me about 80 to 90 battles to win and this often includes some ultimate attacks. Despite all my good dragons, that is fairly consistent and that consistency suggests this is not by chance.

Why does it take me 80 to 90 battles to win a tournament and another person can do it in 32 to 35 battles? If everyone could win with 35 battles, TL would never get any gold sales from tournaments. If everyone took 90 battles to win, people probably wouldn't play thinking that the odds were stacked so that they had to spend gold to win.

So they have a mix of players, some who are winning easily to show it can be done without gold to encourage others to play and then some who have to spend gold to win, to keep the business going.

I know it can be frustrating when you get the tough end of the deal but it is just a game. Try to have some fun with it. I've accepted the fact that I will never get the easy wins like some people have.


On the other hand, ask Kami how easy it was for him to breed a Diamond. He wasn't able to do it, yet other people can do it relatively easily (I did on my second account). Enough people get the dragon free to show it is obtainable and just enough have to pay for it to keep the business going.....and so on.....

Hi ciarjen, thank you for your long answer. :) I do not read tournament forums too often because people "spamming" thru it - at least for me, I do not know why is it important to share every single battle or losses. That is why a tourney forum is like 100 pages, I can not imagine any people who reads thru it.
Would be better if we can discuss about "serious" battles or enemies, bad luck and good luck instead of "I have beaten lvl 1 jellyfish dragon with a lvl 7 deathmetal dragon with one single bash" or so. ;)

But to answer your thoughts. Yes I know TL making business and tries to get as much money from it as they can. But my view is, that TL makes the game hard for those ppl who regularly supports them (for more and more support), and new players or ppl who never bought golds make them easier. And that is I think is not fair. I am thinking on stopping support maybe my luck raises again, even if I loose some tourns on the way.

Yes ciarjen i totally agree with you, i've always been whimpering about the randomness and lack of logic in DS, but more and more in game, in so many different ingame functions, i think i'm seeing patterns - i may not be worst off when it comes to tournaments (or am i, i usually buy myself through with Ultimates..) even if certain opponents always halts me no matter what level they have...but breeding for example - i get a feeling it's already set up for me what i can get fairly easy, and what i have very little chance for. I think so much in game is pre-set and to get by this or that problem we're supposed to buy our way through - all part of the great plan!:)

I guess this is why i'm not spending more money on Dragon Story, i really don't mind paying for playing a nice game, but not when i get the feeling i'm too much a puppet in control of very little - unless i pay up!

Hi Everyone

Congratulations on all your wins. Most of you are making good progress I see. I have been really busy at work and then in the evenings so not had time to come on the forum. However I have still been playing.

I am now on Round 21 on both my accounts. I have won every round up to round 19 with a combination of Immortal and Black Knight (apart from Gilded when I used nano) on my main account and a combination of Bladewing and Amazon on my 2nd account. I beat Bladewing on my main account with Infinity (Lost Diamond) and on my 2nd account I beat it with Diamond on my first attempt.

I agree with Ciarjen, some people do seem to have it easier than others. I used to spend 10 -12 rounds trying to win some battles (It once took me 18 rounds to beat Naga), but now it rarely takes me more than 2 or 3 and many of them I win on my first attempt which means I can speed up and try other dragons without building up much of a queue in the spa. Also using Champions in the early rounds means I always have good dragons to use if 1 loses as I now have 9 of them.

Tell me Kami what do you do that you always win so easily. Round 20 took you really only 2 rounds to win? The same was on last tournaments as well. Whats your secret?

This tourney, I lost 4 times against low lvl opponents, I had 90% chance to win each times and lost.

If I face a lvl 18-20 champion, it takes usually 20-30 times to defeat him.

Oh!! No secret there,usually I won mostly till round 20 without any lost battles, since I got Ninja tournament seems easy for me.

I've been using Champions mostly for all the early rounds. I used them randomly.

Kami doesn't have any special secret, he just taps his finger on bash or magic and the rest is down to how the game plays.

If you observe these threads on tournaments and the ones on crafting you will see that some people consistently have very easy battles with few losses and others consistently have to fight many rounds to beat certain dragons. The consistency of this suggests this is not just down to luck.

My conclusion is that not all accounts are created equally. You can observe this across a number of Team Lava games where you can see obvious differences in how accounts differ in terms of prices, drop rates, success rates, gold and gem sales etc and the unfairness of it all. They are a business and are constantly doing market research to see what they need to do to maximize their gold/gem sales.

I have a very good collection of dragons, including champions, diamond hybrids and a lot of super rare epics and yet I still lose fairly consistently, usually beginning with round 1. This tournament took 3 battles to defeat the first dragon, a level 1. I keep a tally of my losses during tournaments and it usually takes me about 80 to 90 battles to win and this often includes some ultimate attacks. Despite all my good dragons, that is fairly consistent and that consistency suggests this is not by chance.

Why does it take me 80 to 90 battles to win a tournament and another person can do it in 32 to 35 battles? If everyone could win with 35 battles, TL would never get any gold sales from tournaments. If everyone took 90 battles to win, people probably wouldn't play thinking that the odds were stacked so that they had to spend gold to win.

So they have a mix of players, some who are winning easily to show it can be done without gold to encourage others to play and then some who have to spend gold to win, to keep the business going.

I know it can be frustrating when you get the tough end of the deal but it is just a game. Try to have some fun with it. I've accepted the fact that I will never get the easy wins like some people have.


On the other hand, ask Kami how easy it was for him to breed a Diamond. He wasn't able to do it, yet other people can do it relatively easily (I did on my second account). Enough people get the dragon free to show it is obtainable and just enough have to pay for it to keep the business going.....and so on.....

Finally last week I bought my first Diamond,no way to bred it,and spent all of my one year saved Gold bar.
I also bought Dark Angel used money.

According to the battle calculator steamPunk, headless, and double rainbow have the best chances if they are levels 9 or 10. Of course you still have to account for luck. Anyways I only have a level 6 headless, so had to try something else. Tried another champion and had some luck. :)

Finally last week I bought my first Diamond,no way to bred it,and spent all of my one year saved Gold bar.
I also bought Dark Angel used money.

Perhaps since you previously bought the Dark Angel, TL gave you a free pass on having easy battles on the tournaments. Oh that must be nice. ;)

Kami doesn't have any special secret, he just taps his finger on bash or magic and the rest is down to how the game plays.

If you observe these threads on tournaments and the ones on crafting you will see that some people consistently have very easy battles with few losses and others consistently have to fight many rounds to beat certain dragons. The consistency of this suggests this is not just down to luck.

My conclusion is that not all accounts are created equally. You can observe this across a number of Team Lava games where you can see obvious differences in how accounts differ in terms of prices, drop rates, success rates, gold and gem sales etc and the unfairness of it all. They are a business and are constantly doing market research to see what they need to do to maximize their gold/gem sales.

I have a very good collection of dragons, including champions, diamond hybrids and a lot of super rare epics and yet I still lose fairly consistently, usually beginning with round 1. This tournament took 3 battles to defeat the first dragon, a level 1. I keep a tally of my losses during tournaments and it usually takes me about 80 to 90 battles to win and this often includes some ultimate attacks. Despite all my good dragons, that is fairly consistent and that consistency suggests this is not by chance.

Why does it take me 80 to 90 battles to win a tournament and another person can do it in 32 to 35 battles? If everyone could win with 35 battles, TL would never get any gold sales from tournaments. If everyone took 90 battles to win, people probably wouldn't play thinking that the odds were stacked so that they had to spend gold to win.

So they have a mix of players, some who are winning easily to show it can be done without gold to encourage others to play and then some who have to spend gold to win, to keep the business going.

I know it can be frustrating when you get the tough end of the deal but it is just a game. Try to have some fun with it. I've accepted the fact that I will never get the easy wins like some people have.


On the other hand, ask Kami how easy it was for him to breed a Diamond. He wasn't able to do it, yet other people can do it relatively easily (I did on my second account). Enough people get the dragon free to show it is obtainable and just enough have to pay for it to keep the business going.....and so on.....

Just as I expected, round 1-19 was pretty easy (2 losses). Round 20 I used ulti.

Round 21, Prism 12 got me a fair chance: 35% with my single Epic Atlantis, and 25% with multiple others. Atlantis lost 3 times, Aether, Dawntree and Four-Leaf each lost 1 time: all together it costed me 7 hours to beat this "simple" dragon... And now there 3 waiting for the Healing Well and Atlantis is still in for an hour.

I agree with you on the breeding too: some dragons I get by the multi (Peacock, Aether), some I get on first try (Dawntree, Lunar Horse), and some I can't get for over a year (Aurora, Mask). Some limiteds or seasonal I've been trying every time they were available (Mermaid, Snowman, Passion, all Halloween-dragons, now all Valentines-dragons) but (as good as) NEVER got any of them... Not to speak about the Diamonds... I gave up on that one...

It would be nice if TL would alter the chances from time to time... Than the players that had it easy have it a bit harder, and those that have it hard, can enjoy the easy play for a while. You would know your chances will change in time... know you would get the nice offers, win those tourneys, get those dragons. Now it's time after time after time knowing you breed and try and battle for nothing... It's taking away a bit of the fun. It's not that I don't want people to have the pleasure of easy tourneys, but it would be nice if others had the same luck also from time to time...

I think you did the right thing, as you say it's just frustrating getting stuck, takes all the joy away from game and isn't worth time spent either. Myself i'm stuck on Immortal atm, not lost 10 times yet but i'll probably reach that too...so i'll use Ultimate next attempt if no crit in the first 2 hits.

And this is totally ok - we're not meant to go through tournaments without spending gold, and as long as i can get enough gold from goals, questing and nice neighbors i don't mind spending it in battle arena - it's the only thing i spend it on in game anyway, so all good!
