I finally finished the Griselda Dark Garden quest line & was given the option to buy Griselda's fountain for 120 gems for 24 hours.

My question is what happens after 24 hours? Does the price increase? I thought it was 120 gems regardless?

If you accept the Baron's offer to buy the fountain for 120 gems he then rewards you with 20 gems,so you pay 100 gems.

I just let that part of the quest expire without buying the fountain.

Actually, you can in Market->Decorations->Town. On page 7/8

I didn't buy it and it is still available for purchase for 120 Gems.

Drop fountain-type items, for instance? Anything? Or is it just for pretties?

It does look very pretty, the CS design team is an amazing bunch, but the bigger my place gets and the more stuff I cram on my board, the more it slows to a crawl and crashes after about five minutes of running Queen Tink around, so nope, nothing animated allowed if it's not gonna be productive too lol. But I threw down a chunk of gems on a second dragon this morning before that goal popped up, so it's out of my price range now anyway. XD
