Gem sale

I wanted to buy gems badly but I hadn't had one since few days before Mithril Dragon was released. Is that the normal? Do we still have the gem sale or any updates I am unaware of?

I have two kingdoms and in the first one I get a gem sale 3 or 4 times a week. In the second one only every two or three months. I read somewhere that you get it randomly.
