Hi All!

Darn, we spoiled some of the goodies a day early, but there are a few things you haven't seen yet ;)

Here is today's update:


1) The Blythewood Sapling Part 1
-As promised we are continuing the main storyline
-To start this quest you must be Level 30+ and unlocked Mythic Essence
Summary: Old Thomas reaches out to a long-time friend. A letter arrives that may split the Kingdom in half. A life is saved and welcomed into the Kingdom.

2) The Greenhouse
-We added 3 new crafts: Floral Glow, Vital Extract, and Faerie Elixir
-Combine Floral Glow and Vital Extract together to create Faerie Elixir!

3) Mermaid Pond
-Drops Water and Mermaid Scales more reliably
-A little story on this... What Glimmergate and I originally had in mind was a small fountain that would drop Mermaid Scales. But we mulled it over and decided it wasn't going to be good enough. So, creativity took over and the final product is the beautiful pond with a mermaid statue coming out of the water that you see now. We hope you guys enjoy it!

4) Max Level Raised to 50
-YES! It's real! Congratulations to everyone that leveled up! Thank you for playing Castle Story! We really enjoy working on the game and we hope you're having fun :o
-Energy Rewards: Available to players that reached Levels 33, 36, 40, 45, and 50
Check your Quest Log and open up the congratulatory quest(s)! Read through it and then hit "Accept" when you ready. Then, go into your Inventory to place the Energy Crate you received from completing the quest. Chop down the Energy Crate and pick up the Energy reward!


For next week, The Blythewood Sapling Part 2 will be released.
And don't forget, "something blue, times two!" - The Mermaid Pond was just one of the blue things released this month :cool:

We don't lower droprates of items like that. I actually just raised the Manticore Whisker droprate the other day to compensate for the fact that we're asking for them more often. Keep collecting - you may have just run into a spot of bad luck :)

about 10 seconds, and then my total dropped from 78 to 38

Thank you for the adjusting the levels. With Castle Story its sometimes difficult to tell who is still an active neighbor. The higher levels will make it easy to remove some of my neighbors since I haven't added any in months. ~~ Will be welcoming new neighbors so feel free to add me.

don't know what you mean by Quest log..
Quest log is the book in the top right corner that contains all your ongoing quests, depending on your new level you should have a 9 day quest to collect an energy crate, when you click accept it drops into your inventory, you can then place it into your kingdom, tap it to open and your energy is given a boost.

I so agree!!! I have two quest lines to finish that both require 20 mithril and am only averaging 1 mithril drop every two weeks. This is really a bummer because I won't be able to update the fairy respite and I need it to get the seeds (other than the observatory and Ivy's Hut) for the greenhouse.

I do have one question though, can we have 2 regular mines and 2 deep mines? My space is pretty tight right now but I do not want to give up one of my regular mines for the additional deep mine.

Yes, i was aware of there being "3" new crafts. But I mentioned the faerie craft because the ultimate objective to the three crafts were the 20 energy fills. Read we all do, interpreting and posting is more pertinent. I have no issues with the objective, it's not too far apart from say the meat delivery which perhaps needs far more collects to convert the way I see it.

Yes you can, I already have 2 regular mines and 2 deep mines... Not sure how much that helps in the search for Mithril.. It's a struggle,. But at least you get a lot more silver to craft into the elusive Mithril... Lol

Hi there, the cost of the Faerie Elixir is just insane (cost of 250 energies plus water, gain of 20)

Glimmer dust and mushrooms can drop at the same time from mushroom circles, so a little saving their, plus water is a by product from mermaid scale hunting.
If you have a hedge then petals are easy to get, so a few of the ingredients are not currently being used too much, but quite a few players are maxed on them.

Most of these recent updates are not accessible to me yet as I'm still working on unlocking the glimmergate, but knowing all these new quests are in the pipeline is just brilliant. And it means I have time to stock up on new items before I need them! I've nearly built my second greenhouse as now the new crafts have been added there's stuff I can do already with the seeds/fertiliser I'm getting as byproducts.

Really looking forward to new Exchange trades too - there are often occasions where I don't have enough of the right components for a trade so more options will be fab.

Good news. You won't miss out. Once you've met the requirements you'll be able to start them. Usually it's only seasonal quests that need to be started before they become unavailable.

Precisely! Remember when TL put out shorter quest lines, and people would finish all the goals within hours without using gems to speed up?

If you want to craft mithril you will need Knowledge Shard. They are extra rare drops from the Table of Tabernum. There's total 4 of them, and you'll need 4th in order to craft mithril.

I think you miss the point because this is AWESOME! Sometimes you have spare energy just going to waste. Might as well, stock up. Then when you need it, you can in 2 minutes get 20 energy! I love it! :)

Pink things bought this year or received from adventures this year do not drop the special pink things from last year. However, these pink things do trigger Lovecupines.

I vote for wizard school x 2, then barracks, red trilium (if you don't have any valentines flowers), maple tree and mermaid pond. After that a sheep and fruit trees, if you get impatient waiting for them to come from adventures, an extra glimmerdust trove, a second pink alicorn (so cute!), the fortune teller and the beautiful decorative fountain :-)

It was super cool getting off of work and seeing all this energy rewarding! Also I always wondered if all of those little blue stars of XP points actually were accruing and they were! I got two crates and am now at level 38. Woo! It's been stuck on 30 for so long its awesome to see something different. Don't like that the mermaid pond is for gems but oh well, guess I'll have to save for it.

Alright, second wizard school it is! I already have five Glimmerdust troves, a red trillium, a maple tree, all the fruit trees and multiple sheep, so that's good to hear haha :)

There is a couple of new crafts as announced on the first post

Though looking at the requirements it is a little time consuming.

Floral Glow
requires 5 red petal, 5 purple petal and 5 glimmer dust, 15 minute craft time
vital extract
5 piles of seeds, 15 mushroom, 3 living wood, 2 hours
20 energy
10 floral glow, 4 vital extract and 20 water, 2 minutes

Tried it and won't be doing it again not only time consuming but also Energy consuming just like with the 60 Strawberry + and 40 Glimmerbulb, not worth it for me. I can use that much energy on something else.

Hi ashanthya, #3 only wants you to craft 5 Mythic Essence, you do not give out!(If they try to take it, fight for it!!:D) So yeah, you only need to make 8 mythic Essence

I'm in exactly this same boat. Can't do both. Manty whiskers are in short supply and it will take weeks to get enough to continue. I get maybe one per day and we need 50 to make 5 essence. That's nearly two months of waiting on Manty parts!

Although I looked at skipping with gems. The cost of mythic essence for the maze is 15 gems per. The cost for the sapling goal is 10 gems. So you'd save 25 gems if you use 5 toward the maze and gem over the sapling goal. Why they're not the same cost remains a mystery.

Hi, just saw your post, which quite funnily enough was just after I made my decision, which was to focus on the sapling.

The reason for this was:

a. The maze. At present I have 6 glimmer pitchers (1 more than needed), 3 glimmer rafflesia (2 more than needed) and 7 glimmer traps (still require 3 more). In relation to making more plants, I have 2 dark seeds (still need 1 more just to try and make a plant) - BUT - I only have 6 shards and 0, I repeat 0, fragments. I do have 24 pile of seeds. Therefore to get my remaining plants, I still need a heap of shards and fragments, which come very slow and a few more seeds. Then there is no guarantee that I will get 3 traps in a row.

I had 6 mythic essence.

B. the sapling. I had 3 pages in stock, so just had to make 1 more and also 4 black inks. When that was made, the choice was, use the mystic now or wait for the maze or not.

I chose the sapling as the letters are now in the exchange, which takes 3 days to mature. In that time I hope to get more dragon scales (I only have 2 at present), but I do have 75 manti whiskers. So, at least In 3 days my dragon scales (I also have 2 dragons) will maybe getting close to making a few more mythics and in that time those pesky shards and fragments will drop so that I can make some seeds for more plants for the maze.

Basically my gamble was, use the mystic now (with 1 up my sleeve), see what comes in the next 3 days, continue on collecting and making what I can until the night before the next update (about 5 days) and decide to whether to gem (hopefully) a small amount only, or continue to plug along if I am no where near what is required.

You're lucky that you have the maze upgraded and extra mythic essence! I didn't realize until last week that we needed to do the Discover Adamant line to get the mythic essence. I had been told that that line wasn't needed in order to continue the main quest line. Anyway, we still have a few days until the next update, and I'm going to get as much done as I can between now and then, and make a final decision next week. Maybe I'll get a second Manty soon and that will help.

the Sapling is part of the main questline, so I would do that first.
The maze is a side quest and a fully upgraded maze will just give you coins occasionally, but who knows what goodies await on the main story.

They may BOTH be part of the main quest line. I don't think the maze is fully upgraded yet at level 2 - maybe just for now. Aggwynn responded: "What? You're not done!" in another thread when Ajax posted that the garden was done. Seems like there is still more ahead for us on the maze...

I am still visiting Thomas, and have barely started this quest, but it was very helpful to know I would need a 3 x 3 space. I was able to slowly move things around in the kingdom, store some bushes and cottages and mushrooms, add the new crop plots, and leave a lovely empty space for my little sapling when it finally comes!

I am trying to get trade tickets for the last two expansions, but that is a s l o w process ... so no room for a mermaid pond yet.

A big THANK YOU to TL for the lovely energy crates. There was a fire in the electrical room at our condo yesterday, and we will be without power until at least Tuesday, so I can't recharge my phone easily. When I did get it charged, I used two crates like a glutton, but I have one left. I am one of those people who sets the timer and visits the game as often as possible, so I guess I will be learning patience this weekend, as I wait for a chance to charge up, and then work like crazy before my battery runs out! Luckily I can recharge and play at work!

And - speaking of patience - I waited ages and ages to get an Alicorn last year, and finally got one. I used gems this year to speed up my pink Alicorn. I was checking my inventory on Wednesday and was surprised to find I had collected parts for another Alicorn without noticing. I was complaining to myself last year about the long wait (and determined to not use gems) and now this little fellow just dropped out of the sky without warning!

All you manty whisker hunters ....by any chance , do you frequently check your inventory ? On my 2 accounts I found each had another manticore egg in it ( I always watch carefully if anything drops from nest but somehow didn't see 3 extra eggs over past 1 month ).... I also caught an extra egg by seeing in th shop it said I have inventory there ....

I now check Inventory every few days to see what I missed or is low on ..

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned by anyone else, but I'm wondering if the Blythewood sapling is a 3x3 because it might grow into a tree house for Agnes to live in. TL said someone new is coming to live in our kingdom.

I purposely made 1 extra black ink the other day when creating the letter. Maybe it's because I am used to the coloured ones, but I thought the black ink jar looked gorgeous! Lol. So I made an extra to keep :p. I figured it may disappear since it is listed above the regular items in the workshop. I have 2 days left! :)

Okay, so have been reading through here and step 4 says we have to visit the Royal Chateau. Due to space issues it was something I never purchased. So I went to go see if I could get it now and it is not available. Any suggestions?? Will it become available when we get to that step?

Love the new update - glad the pond isn't animated ( itouch 4 ) wouldn't handle anger animation ..past 2 weeks the increase items are making it tough to play - but I do love the new stuff

All you manty whisker hunters ....by any chance , do you frequently check your inventory ? On my 2 accounts I found each had another manticore egg in it ( I always watch carefully if anything drops from nest but somehow didn't see 3 extra eggs over past 1 month ).... I also caught an extra egg by seeing in th shop it said I have inventory there ....

I now check Inventory every few days to see what I missed or is low on ..

Just noticed I've now got a total of 145 Hedge Trimmers - in theory there was a max of 15. Any chance we might need some hedge trimmers in the future lol

Yeah, I noticed that about Faerie Respite, too.
I don't know about the dark seeds, because I have finished my Dark Garden and since then I didn't craft any dark seeds. Before I would usually get 2-4 seeds.

Had a thought, what if the sapling ends up sitting in the garden at end of quest line, you know merge level 2 maze with end outcome of sapling.. Hope it's some awesome drops lined up after all this work .. Lol

I'm finding that without the habit of saving for energy, I'm actually getting other things done. All my roasted chicken usually goes towards the energy exchange, but I've managed to make 4 spicy feasts in the past 36 hours, so that's great. I'm enjoying having to do other things.

This is only Part 1 of the quest. I'm sure it will grow when we get next part this Thursday :)

just done with part1 and get the Blythewood with 0 cost:D the most interesting is you can buy more than 1 Blythewood from the market, it's so wowww for me at first but I realise from the Greselda's words that this tree cannot uproot!! and Baron prohibit to grow them. Anyone put it more than one?

I tried it, stored one and buy one more sapling.. You need 3 mystic essence, 10 faerie murmur, 25 fertilizer and 50 waters to build each of them...

While those 3 days passed, I crafted 20 extra inks, 10 extra pages + 5 more letters to Agnes.

Also, now I bought a second sapling, I only need a few more waters to finish.

Only one more Mythic Essense to go. Waiting for a few more Dragon Scales so my inventory doesn't drop below 40 (@42 right now). Already have about 80 manticore whiskers.
