We raised the max level to 50 a day early =)

Tomorrow we will give out Energy rewards for those who skipped ahead in levels.

Summary from Increase
Level cap = 50
Energy reward = energy crates (chop for 50 energy). 1 crate for each of the following levels that people jumped to/past.
Royal building max = 43
Wall limit increase = 140
Field increase = 60

I jumped to level 50 and saw my energy jump to 77, started collecting and dropped to 31. Thanks for the note to let us know the energy thing will be fixed tomorrow.

Seriously, thank you TL for increasing levels, walls and royal buildings allowed. I haven't hit any of the limits except levels, but I know many of our neighbors and friends will be so excited. :)

Also, thanks for the alternate reward tomorrow for those of us who have been level 30 for a long time, and bounced past the individual level increases at 90 miles an hour. ;)

The list is off a little for me. I'm at level 45 now and by the list I would be level 44. At 116,463 I am halfway through 45.

I'll second that. I do hope that when they come, they have nothing on them. I do not need anymore trees, or rocks, or mushroom patches/rings, or any type of flower/bush etc. What I need is space. However, I suspect that in any case, if/when, new bits are released, we will be paying a very high price (money, lanterns and god forbid - expansion permits) for the privilege of development. FYI - I was assessed as level 41 with just over 90,00 XP. Love having new targets to work toward.

Don't mean to seem like a grumpycat, but the next item to be fixed should be the issue with gems - please have a double approval system so that we do not waste or accidentally use our gems. This would be REALLY appreciated.

Yep, I'm not actually too worried. Do get frustrated from time to time about the fragments/shards etc, but that is life. Am happy to plug along and see what comes.

I do believe that Griselda is on a holiday from my place, somewhere with the baron. She, nor the gate, have given me anything of substance in the last few days and her greenhouse has been idle all day, as if her servants have gone on strike. But I am sure she will return one day and give me a few red and blue presents. Until then, oh well, what can you do. I'm totally psyched about the mermaid pond too! I hope there's a quest for it as I don't have anywhere near 160 gems right now. Mermaid scales are definitely my most difficult resource - took me ages to do all the quests that have involved enchanters essence lately!

Is there going to be a mini quest for each level we are skipping? So level 34 (me!) will get 4 tasks and someone on level 42 would get 12, that sort of thing? I can't wait to find out - if it's anything like the other recent updates it's gonna be awesome anyway. :D

I too lost my level increase energy reward. I remember seeing 91 and as I started collecting next thing I knew it was at 28. I knew I hadn't already collected over 60 things that quick, lol.

I also lost out on collecting from an adventure due to the increase! I was about to collect, got the level increase notification, and then the adventure was gone, with only the option to start a new one. There was nothing in my inventory to show that the adventure was collected :(

Yeah still get them from mushrooms, glimmerbulbs, cocoa and coin buildings - not as common as fangbeasts and skunkupines though which is annoying as I do like the troll hunter trade!

Right. Don't need any of that. I'm happy for others who are happy. It just didn't apply to me, and I thought we would be able to level up once they adjusted things. When it became obvious that they hadn't fixed the issue but just extended the problem I wanted to ask why. It's not the end of the world, it's just not the big whoop I was wanting or expecting.

All TL games have level caps. That's just how it is.

there is no time limit on the crates - just on the goal, accept them and then use them when you want to

Yes you can accept them all and they go into your inventory. Woohoo 4 crates for me :-)

The crates are given for levels that people skipped when TL raised the level cap. You skipped level 33, so you have a crate for doing that.

You don't get the crate for each level just on set levels, but now the level cap is increased you should get a full refill each time you level up now

That is a mute point though, as whilst we were stuck at level 30, the quests kept coming, so now the max level is 50 there is no longer a correlation between quests and level, so setting a new max level has no purpose.
I am happy for the recent surge of interest in the game from the developers, after what seemed to be a very sparse period last year.

Look in your inventory. That's where they go.
Then you can take one out when you need the extra boost in energy.

Oh with the new level cap and the question as to why there is a limit, i think there was a post way back when from one of the staff members. They were saying that at that time they were only up to about level 28 in terms of designing quests and items. So I'd say the cap is there as a place holder to allow them to design stuff for higher levels.

Level relates to your Xp. What level does the star on the top left hand side say? You may not even be at level 30 yet.

Directly from Maguar's spreadsheet: 10.0 = 1,491 _ 20.0 = 11,210 _ 30.0 = 38,750.

Approximated from this thread so far: 32.5 = 47,998 _ 40.3 = 86,288.

My estimation of when these leveling up milestones will occur: lvl-xp, 10-1500, 20-11000, 30-39000, 40-84000, 50-145000.

Incidentally, after some curve fitting, it is clear that...
the curve from Level 1 to Level 30 is exponential (specifically an x^3 function),
while the curve from Level 30 to Level 50 is linear (more-or-less).
So that's why earlier predictions of where we would all be when the cap was raised were so far off.

Therefore...
Between Levels 1 and 30, if you play the same amount every week, it will take more time to get to the next level each time.
Between Levels 30 and 50, if you play the same amount every week, it will take the same amount of time to get to each level.

It was a great gift and I'm glad to have it! At the same time, I feel it's important to point out that 50 energy for 5 levels is not the same as 40 energy for each level. I know, I'm being ungrateful and picky, but there's no real reason to have maximum levels. Lots of other games don't have maximums like this.

People who jumped several levels in one day were stuck under the old level cap. When you reach a level cap, you continue to gain XP, which count toward increasing levels should the level cap be raised. Thus, when the level cap is raised, people who have accumulated XP automatically jump to the level that they have earned.

if you did not jump levels, then you were not stuck under the level cap. You will continue to level up normally until you reach the new level cap.

Levels are based on your experience. Tap the star showing your level and it takes you to your profile. There you can see on the progress bar where you are experience-wise on that level. Don't know what amount of experience is required for level 59 is, sorry.

Just an fyi, last night, I leveled from 47 to 48, and my XP Points were at 131,600 points. I checked my profile immediately after I leveled.

If you chop 50 times for 1 energy, you basically just end up chopping nothingness... Umm it takes 1 energy to chop the crate.... So .. You see where I'm going with this ;)

I really appreciate the energy crates and think storing the energy in crates was brilliant. I have read through this thread and apologize if this has been suggested already but I would like to suggest that all energy given when we level up is given in a crate we can chop and use when we need it. It seems like I always level up when I am rushing or not when I could really use it. It would be great if we could save the bonus energy for when we need it. Just a thought.

The crates were only for people who jumped to or over the levels. Anyone reaching those levels after the cap increase will just get the standard energy refill and not the crate.

I appreciate the fact that we got "compensated" with energy for leveling up. I've been at the max level for over a year and every time I'd see those XP stars pop up with no where to go it was disappointing. Hahahaha. Keep the level increases coming please :)

I am at level 41 and I did not receive free energy like everyone else did. I heard people received 100 or 200 free energy in packs of 50 crates. I got nothing and I e-mailed help at storm 8 and they don't seem to understand what I am talking about

When you level up you get an energy refill. When they increased the cap from 30 to 50 a lot of people jumped from level 30 to higher levels (including straight to 50). All of these people missed out on the energy that they would have got when levelling up. What TL did was give them the energy crates depending on the level they jumped to. It didn't cover all the energy they would have got but it was a great gesture. If you've been levelling up normally you'll get the normal energy refil but you won't get the crates (because you didn't miss out on the energy refills).
