Quest for gem stones [Archive]

I just did the quest for gem stones using the fairy dragon and 75,000 coins and when it was done I got food (I'm pretty sure I got 1000 apples). Is that supposed to happen? Aren't I supposed to get gemstones? Does this happen to anyone else because 75000 coins is a lot to pay for some food.

The outcome is totally random. I got 200 food from that quest earlier. However, I have actually a question as well, is it possible to get any type of gem from this quest? I've only gotten small red and green gems thus far, won't mind a black gem...

I rarely get what I quest for. I was told as well that its random and you may or may not get what you are going for.
