I dont get it

I think I may be missing something.... I have tried on several occasions to play Dragon Story but everything seems to require gems after the first 3 or 4 dragons. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong.

You need to breed the dragons you have bought and you will then get the rest of the dragons. For example of you breed fire and forest you could get life, wild, rose or landworm. By mixing your colour combinations you can breed any of the dragons in the market with the exception of Gold giving dragons,quest dragons, summoning dragons and tournament dragons. But you won't be able to access these dragons unless you are at a higher level and you have IOS.

You start by buying coin dragons, then from there you breed dragons together to get new dragons. The Dragon Guide is very helpful. Post 7 lists threads for the different dragons that give good color combos for the dragons.
Post 1 gives you an egg chart and other good information.
