Trying to understand

I have been playing for a few months on a android. No biggie I'm still having fun breeding etc but I visit other islands and see players at my same level with 2 temples, while my game is maxed at 1. things suspended in the air, and I've read about arenas. Can anyone explain to me the differences between iPhones and androids? I've played other TL games and there hasn't seemed to be this big of.a.difference.
