I doubt they'll give us anymore winter themed ideas since 1-7 is the date that they're pulling all winter themed items for sale.
I'm hoping that they'll start building towards either the Winter Olympics whose starting date is 2/6 or Valentines Day 2/14 instead of waiting till the week b4 either of them 2 give us items 4 them.
Whatever route they take I just hope the that there r more items 4 coins instead of gems. Last wks update cost me 132 gems b4 I was done redecorating a corner of my bistro.
O I forgot, recipes. It would b nice 2 get a recipe 4 each regular appliance- stove,oven, and grill. If not that then how about a new appliance like they use 2 do.

I'm hoping they have goals and updates for the Winter Olympics. I loved when they did it for the summer games in London hoping they do it this year too!! And valentines too!

I would love to see a winter Olympics, St. Patrick's Day, or even Presidents' Day goals over Valentine's Day goals. Items for Valentine's Day have been released since Christmas. I just don't want to be overwhelmed with pink like in BS.

OMG! I'm so touched when I saw the CNY goals. The final prize rewards, floor tile, wallpaper and the CNY appliances looks amazing! Actually most of the items looks awesome and the new recipes too! Thank you TL! :o

The dragon dancer looks quite similar like the one in bs years back. So happy we're able to get it as a final prize reward. Can't wait to unlock it.

Beautiful update!! Even though I had gotten impatient and switched everything over to valentines day, I will be integrating this all in because it is so beautiful!!
It is awesome TL have decided to add in some other international holidays! It is a lot of fun seeing and learning about other cultures!! Way to go TL! :)

I must say i was quite thrilled when i read the update 'around the world'. What a major disappointment! Every year we are given the same expected asian inspired items. Ok im prone to acknowledge if i dont like asian food , blame my totally western taste. But can TL designers realize 'around the world' there s more than asian cuisine again and again??? Why not carribean pepper pot french beef bourguignon german sauerkraut brazilian feijoada or tens of tasty international others?
All in all then not a totally boring update per se but just a dull impression of d?j? vu - and even revu....

I'm a Chinese and I have changed my restaurant theme to asian after Christmas as it's Chinese New Year in end jan. This update totally come at the correct timing! I always envy bakery to have cny items and now restaurant finally have some nice cny items too. Totally love it! And I also wasn't expecting a goal till next week. Such a nice surprise today. Thank you team lava :)

We've had at least 2 Asian themes each year in Restaurant Story and other games.
It seems as if the Chinese New Year is bigger than the mainly world wide celebrated new year on January 1st.
For the New Years update, we only got a few items. But this update consists of goals and a lot of new content...

Being in the game less than a year, and therefore having missed out on earlier Asian theme goals, I really like this one. The wallpaper's a little too dark as the lights and fans don't show up well against it. Otherwise, I really like the decor.

I had to come and post again about how in love I am with all this new decor. The FIREWORKS wallpaper is breathtaking!!! The colors chosen are PERFECT and just what I had in mind <3

I am going to keep my wallpaper all year round lol. If Disneyland can have fireworks every night of the year, so can I ;-).

I am just so in blown away at the beauty of all the items as I unlock them. Thanks again! It's all so beautiful! These items are going to be displayed for a very long time in my shop, as well as many other players shops and will be classic moments of this game. Hopefully when we all look back in a year or two... we will feel pride in the game and our stores that we were here to complete these fun goals! Thank you!!

That dog looks as though it doesn't belong there... kinda like it belongs in another game, or like it's going to awkwardly move it's head and ears in an unnormal fashion.

Glad im not the only one to be perplexed about the predominance of asian themes.... Since primary school ive been told there are five continents and NEVER EVER we ve been offered any african or middle eastern food. Strange way to open up players minds to other international cultures however well designed this update is

I personally like the Chinese New Year theme. I was just recently thinking how there are so many beautiful Asian items that I've never really tried using in my decorating. Now, of course, I'm wondering, "Did I do that right? Is that Japanese or Chinese?" I can pretty much guess where the Thai Elephant is from.

I started playing around the time of the Action Chef Lee goals, but was unable to finish them because I was such a newbie (really bummed about that, would love to have Action Chef Lee in my Restaurant). He's one of the main characters, so of course there's a lot of Asian food. I do wish the archway were bigger too, but something that big in real life is hard to squeeze into the amount of squares allotted. Plus, if it were too big, someone would be on here complaining about how much space it takes up.

Luckily I was playing last spring when we had the challenge that was all about Action Chef Lee. I have 3 doors so I pulled him out of storage to run the host table closest to where I setup my New Years items. I also pulled out the jade dragon we received as the final reward 4 it. I do believe it fits in nicely. I also discovered a mystery box that's Asian themed and the 1st try I got a panda fountain and the second try I received the stone lamps. There r 3 of them and I wish u could take them apart so u would be able 2 place them as needed. All 3 in 1 place looks dorky. I also tried the winter box and got the abominable waiter and placed him by the host table next 2 the 2nd door by the starry sky section in my place.
I'm making do w this challenge and will b done Monday morning. I would've preferred an Olympic or Valentines day theme cuz last years was cute w the fondue stove.
I hope that the upcoming updates, those that we get while this current goal takes place, r good since as of Monday morning it'll b back mastering the extra appliances since I've mastered all of the regular appliances.
It would b nice if TL would give us new appliances occasionally on updates since it adds spice 2 our life instead of just adding recipes 2 the regular ones. I believe the last one was the Vegan Stove.

I have mastered them all except for the dim sum oven. I probably will have those mastered by the end of the week or next week. And then back to waiting for new recipes. :( I have many more recipes to master in bakery story and I am taking my own sweet time doing it.
