1) Unlocked Sabina and Thurston
2) Must be Level 27+

Faerie Respite
1) There is no time limit to complete this asset
2) Asset must be built up
3) At Level 5, chance drops of various colored petals, Faeriebulb Seeds, Fey Crystal, Faerie Jar, Magic Fruit, and other goodies

The Faeries are fed up with Ivy using them as a light source! Complete this quest line to see why you're building a beautiful Faerie Respite!

Faerie bulb seed is a random drop from the faerie retreat and should start as from its first building. We will have to wait and see how random they arrive. I'm not sure if they are available from any other source.

I've used gems to speed up or skip the first few steps as I couldn't be bothered waiting a day and half to visit Ivy's hut 3 times. Finally some quest needed for the chocolate cake. I'm up to the Write The Wrongs quest which will take a few days as the 5 potions take 4 hours each and the pages 3 hours each, i already had one leftover from a previous quest and the book takes 2 days to craft.

Oh wow! Just tried it. I still got about 10 of x'mas tress littered (lol) around my kingdom due to lack of space but I wanted to play this little 25000 coins draw lol. I also noticed that the trees have disappeared from the shop now so you could no longer buy them. Aw. Guess I will chop down all but one and save that in the inventory :)

Thank you so, so, so much for not having a time limited quest. I love playing this game and have done so for a long time. One of the main reasons is that I find it quite relaxing. The time limited quests made it rather stressful for me which took the pleasure out of playing. Fortunately I was able to, and chose to, devote the time needed to complete them. However it is a much more relieved and relaxed me looking forward to completing this quest in my own time and at my own pace. Yay!

Wow, definitely a long term quest looking at the build and upgrade costs. Apparently there's a quest requiring glimmer shards coming next week so it may be wise to not spend all of your resources on this quest. After all since it's not time limited there's no rush to finish it.

Christmas trees cannot be stored. They must be chopped, or just sit in your kingdom!

TL should have CLEARLY stated this in the beginning, when people were using gems on these trees, that they could eventually be stored. That is nothing less than deceitful. Actually it was not an intelligent move on the part of TL. People may have bought even more trees, knowing they could be partially chopped then STORED! I certainly didn't want Christmas trees sitting around all year, so I chopped them all down!! TL needs to get their act straight on a lot of things!

I do not think they intended them to be stored. I think they are implementing a request from us, the users. If you look back and read the Xmas tree update thread you will notice that most posters pleaded to TL to allow us to store them. This is likely them being nice and fulfilling our request.

That being said we have two users that said they can store them and Kooky Panda saying to restart if you can't. There were no release notes on Xmas tree storage either. Can anyone else confirm storage of their tree(s)?

For what it's worth, I just checked storage ability on my three, unchopped Christmas trees, one of each level, and I CANNOT store any of them. I'm on iPhone 4S and I manually closed the Castle Story app and restarted my phone to be sure.

hurray! not timed!!! :D I can handle this. Long running quests like this are acceptable by me when I can see progress after a day or so of effort. I love that feeling of accomplishment towards a goal and the reward is beauty as well.

Also I'd like to put a word of appreciation to both the mods and development team for Castle Story. I stopped playing in May of '13 and returned around thanksgiving so i don't know everything. With the Christmas trees able to be stored and the freeing of the faeries quest, I feel like these are both excellent examples of community feedback (even with a lot of it negative at times) becoming part of the game play. So. from one programmer to all of you. Thank you very much.

Was the items I got above worth my 500000+ coins and the 90 gems spent? Nope. I had better drops with the classic x'mas trees over the holidays though. I remember that I got a few feasts (didn't keep track of my items back then), but still, nothing too spectacular that I can't cook / mix myself. The only two special items I got were two white dyes...


I see that they have taken the ability to store these trees away now. I'm gonna leave these trees in a corner of my kingdom where I won't chop them down by accident...
I tried today and the trees were storable (I saw the storage button), but now when I try again they are not storable. But it's okay. I don't mind leaving them in a deserted corner of my kingdom where I put my unchopped stones LOL.

I can not confirm since I am not yet there but it may be 100, in earlier caravan type quests sometimes we had to drop more than 100 item (like 120 milk or so), so I can believe it is 100.

Yes, but. I still think it's a typo since 1. They take forever to collect which milk doesn't and 2. All the other materials in that list needs 10 of each so it would be odd to have just one of them require such a higher amount and go from 10 to 100. But. I guess we'll see when we get there. Thanks to all of you who post these things in advance, really helps out a lot.:)

TL should have CLEARLY stated this in the beginning, when people were using gems on these trees, that they could eventually be stored. That is nothing less than deceitful. Actually it was not an intelligent move on the part of TL. People may have bought even more trees, knowing they could be partially chopped then STORED! I certainly didn't want Christmas trees sitting around all year, so I chopped them all down!! TL needs to get their act straight on a lot of things!

I chopped down my last 22 trees yesterday as they were taking up so much room and no previous option to store them. Would have been nice to have been told about this beforehand TL.

LOL I'm amused. Here is a quest that will take AGES to complete... just off the numbers alone.

I'm reasonably high level and a fairly aggressive player (I collect no less than 4 times per day, every day). Still; this would wipe out a lot of reserves and in some causes I'm already at or near zero (in the process of upgrading Amphitheaters and Cathedrals [2 of each]).

I welcome the challenge. May take me a little longer but that's half the fun.

Faerie bulb seed is a random drop from the faerie retreat and should start as from its first building. We will have to wait and see how random they arrive. I'm not sure if they are available from any other source.

I don't appear to have a limit because I just bought another one. I am at the limit of resource buildings but as this is a royal building you may have reached a limit there.

Perhaps you are at the limit of your royal buildings. Try to sell one of your royal building (perhaps one that you dont need, maybe already storaged it - buildings in storage counts as buildings). I dont know exactly what is the limit for royal buildings, but I know there is one.

I do not think they intended them to be stored. I think they are implementing a request from us, the users. If you look back and read the Xmas tree update thread you will notice that most posters pleaded to TL to allow us to store them. This is likely them being nice and fulfilling our request.

That being said we have two users that said they can store them and Kooky Panda saying to restart if you can't. There were no release notes on Xmas tree storage either. Can anyone else confirm storage of their tree(s)?

Also excited for this quest. I wish there was a regular fairy character that would run around the kingdom the way ivy and sabina etc do.

I love this idea, maybe there could be a fairy ambassador that stays in the kingdom to make sure Ivy doesn't have a lighting emergency and starts putting faeires is jars again.

When you store a Christmas Tree that's been chopped, even if it's down to to the last one, you can pull it back out and chop the whole thing again. We've passed on the feedback that you'd like to store them, but for now, this isn't an option.

This is/was a known exploit which was the reason for other types of trees not being storable. However the inventory system appears to be able to distinguish different levels of buildings (i.e. a level 1 watchtower is stored separately from a level 2 watchtower). Would it be possible to store christmas trees as 3/4/5 different types of objects depending on how much they had been chopped?

You can also get lemons from the glimmerbat habitat and Sir Pigglesworth. But without a lemon tree that's likely to take a long time.

Yes it is. You have to get the final shard to unlock those.

You need 5 ink, 5 parchment, & 2 leather covers (which I've had for a long time already) in order to craft the Treaty. So at both potion shops start inks (4 hrs each it will take 3 times to get 5), at both workshops start parchments (3 hrs each also take 3 times to get 5). It takes awhile to get all parts to craft the Treaty. The Treaty itself takes 2 days.

Anyuszko, I'm also having to craft silver at both my forges since I ran out after crafting all the armor & 1 silver platter. Seeing as how the platter takes 20 silver each, this is gonna take some time.

in the beginning of the game we could store all trees we bought.. and yes, at that time the bug was already there that the tree was 'new'. on taking it out of inventory, even when it only had 1 chop left on putting in. same thing with the rock formations...

if,the developers have not been able to fix this thing in over a year, i think they do not feel that it is important for us... how often we ask them for this option will not make any difference, i'm afraid..

When it says that you are at your limit it usually means that you can only have x amount of that building... Just like getting a hatchery.. You can only have 2 then if you try and get another one it says you are at your limit.

You're correct about the resource buildings, but Anyuszko is correct about the royal buildings. There is a limit to the total number of royal buildings you can have (I don't remember the limit). The jeweler is a royal building not a resource building. The player who cannot buy another jeweler is at the royal building limit.

hurray! not timed!!! :D I can handle this. Long running quests like this are acceptable by me when I can see progress after a day or so of effort. I love that feeling of accomplishment towards a goal and the reward is beauty as well.

Also I'd like to put a word of appreciation to both the mods and development team for Castle Story. I stopped playing in May of '13 and returned around thanksgiving so i don't know everything. With the Christmas trees able to be stored and the freeing of the faeries quest, I feel like these are both excellent examples of community feedback (even with a lot of it negative at times) becoming part of the game play. So. from one programmer to all of you. Thank you very much.

I wanted a large diamond for months and at Christmas gave in and paid the gems. So what have I got now ... A large diamond. I am also getting a lot of gold, like 4 gold eggs and 2 nuggets in three days. But I am short of other things that I need now.

What occurred to me is that, had there not been the deluge of time limited quests from the holidays, there would likely be a lot more complaining about the amount of resources needed for this quest. As it is, people are like, wow that's hard, but hey, we can take our own sweet time! LOL :D

Exactly, what is the resources after all? Just something to play with for the game.
Nothing lose nothing gain in real term. Many of the quests consume a lot, like the caravan
or the Alicorn, burning ember etc. Few complain the long wait and the random drop.
But the majority takes what it takes because everyone knows sooner or later we will get there.

It still hurts to see incomplete projects for my neighbors.
Somehow TL should either let them store away, and then maybe complete it next season.
I once saw a remarkable line - "The greatest thrill is not to **** but to let live!"
something worthwhile to think about.

I do not think they intended them to be stored. I think they are implementing a request from us, the users. If you look back and read the Xmas tree update thread you will notice that most posters pleaded to TL to allow us to store them. This is likely them being nice and fulfilling our request.

That being said we have two users that said they can store them and Kooky Panda saying to restart if you can't. There were no release notes on Xmas tree storage either. Can anyone else confirm storage of their tree(s)?

I'm enjoying these new goals. Yes there is a lot of stuff to craft/collect, but as there is no time limit who cares? 100 jewels, hundreds of silver... they will come. Maybe not today, or this week even, but I don't see it as a race which must be finished as soon as possible.
Well said. At first I freaked out at the amount of silver, jewels and glimmer dust needed for this, but then when I realised that this is not timed, and I don't have to worry about a half finished building, I relaxed. Having fun with this one; probably weeks of fun!!

I am still crafting the 2 days book (forgot the name), a few hours later it would be ready. Meanwhile, I was able to collect all petals that needed, readied magic garden for one visit. Crafting silvers in forges as hell, and as I count, after second visit in magic garden (following quests need 2 more visit) all ingredients should be ready for build the building.

I have 50+ mythrils, most of them I got from a trade (jewellers trade or something like this), before this quest started (now I wont do it coz collecting jewels), and from deep mines.

I enjoy the quest :)

I am currently waiting for burning ember, golden fleece and diamond, also stuck with the griselda quest line because i meed dragon scales for that and obviously don't have the dragon yet. So this quest line is acutally a great thing.
I feel like in the begining of the game. So many tasks, and "limited" resources.
I am in no rush to finish anything. I feel that whenever I log into the forums, while they are very helpful, the game becomes a race. And I am actually enjoying slowing down.
I'm kinda bummed I gave up early on the last timed quest, because the ice cream would have been helpful, but like I said, this is not a race.
So thank you to all of you who have gems to speed things up, or quantities of back stock, now I know what to prepare for, but I am going at my own pace.
In the mean time I found the time to redo my kingdom. :-)

Hi all, clarification now required. Previous posts have stated that you need 30 of the faerie bulb seeds to upgrade to level five. Ajax is asking where they come from. From previous posts Ajax cannot be level 5 without the seeds. Jp is asking if Ajax is at level 5 and is quoting from TL staff that they only drop from level 5. Hope my question makes sense. How can you get the seeds if they only drop from level 5, but according to previous posts you need them to get to level 5, how can that work. Basically, WHERE and WHEN, do the faerie seeds come from. Cheers

NZ, as far as I can read so far, this seems to be correct. However, someone further up the gem/food chain may be able to clarify. I am in the dark as much as you. I am maxed on Gbulbs and it looks like I need to do that awful trade with strawberries that I hate so that I can harvest more Gbulbs. Cheers. Thks Ajax. I guess the first post is a little off then about the drops. I'm still on the level 3 upgrade, waiting first my first cave adventure for columns but planted some glimmer bulbs anyway to see if I can get some faerie bulb seed ahead of time. Will let you know.

Took 4 adventures for me to get the 4 columns, I sent one to ancient vault through barracks, timed so that it would be ready to collect the statue at time when all columns were ready to complete, that way I didn't have to wait 24 more hours. As soon as I leveled up the columns, I was ready to level up again. Now waiting on glimmer bulbs to collect seeds.

So I fully upgraded the respite yesterday! Truly beautiful! Kudos to the TL artists and game designers for this wonderful quest!

BUT, I'm really bummed. I'm still getting faeries in the jar. As a matter of fact I got 2 yesterday from the magic garden and glimmerbulbs while I was looking for seeds. Why are we still capturing the faeries? Was this quest all about making amends with them? Poor little faeries.

I propose that we make the faerie respite a place where we come and release our captured faeries. And it'd be nice if we get a rewards for each faerie that we release!

It wasn't the exchange. I think it was just part of the dialogue of finishing a step in the process. Perhaps as part of placing the respite or just before that.

There was a quest that says "trade with the faeries" or something like that. I believe it's a reward from that quest. It follows the part when you give your swords, armors, silver platters and jewels. Then you collect from magic garden one more time. That's when you get 20 fruits. I think. I may be wrong but I noticed I have that amount of magic fruits right after that part.

Yes you can start ahead of time. I timed mine so I had two dark caves arriving when I needed the columns :) You need to go to the dark caves 4 times though because each adventure will bring 1 column only.

Thanks. I'd already set off from the barracks but wasn't sure if there was a requirement to 'send' before you would start receiving columns. It'll be nice to get two adventures on the way. And then I can use the barracks for ancient vault and do the other two from the castle, so I should be done in two days :)

So...about my previous post... When returning from the first dark cave adventure, I saw 2 columns get dropped among many other items. When I check the upgrade of the respite it showed only 1 column there. Is this a glitch or am I seeing things?

I think the only thing you can do is the magic fruit trade which gives you 15 energy. I imagine you can't get any more collecting from the garden, can you? Of course there could be new goals in the future which require magic fruit.

I do a lot of the milk and eggs trade (dairy trade? I forget what it's called and can't check because I am on another trade now). It's an easy one to replace resources for if you have 2 stables and 2 hatcheries, plus a few cows and chickens. Just clear those a few times and you will replace what you use.

The up grade should give you more then 5 coins,, do you mean 500 coins, level 3 gives 300 coins
