I thought more pretty tables and chairs, but is fine. Curious to know what's inside tha gift box:-)

I guess the players of BS and RS were a bit unfortunate with weekly updates falling on Christmas Day. Dragon Story got a bunch of retired dragons re-released -- that I believe differed from the Black Friday ones --from yesterday to New Year's Eve, so fingers crossed we will get our updates with a similiar extended availability. I do agree with IsisGarden that TL is probably off for today at least.

I'm quite underwhelmed with all of our xmas updates. I feel like they put more effort in the Autumn updates than the Christmas ones. Not a lot of coin content and all I really wanted was a big Christmas tree with presents underneath :( sigh, oh well. Not even going to gamble on the box considering Christmas is almost over. Hopefully we will have another big 40% sale like last year tomorrow or this weekend!

Why are Bakery Story's boxes always better (in my opinion) than Restaurant Story.
The way all the items are designed, for box and items and not for box items, it's really nice, while RS items look like it got little thought and any color the designer felt was necessary...

Yes, it looks nice, but I think we have enough pianos as it is.

As for the update, I like all the cool new coin items. Nice little update.

I like the bag of gifts and santa penguin, not so much the donut tree.

I just wanted to say thank you for everyone sharing pictures of box items. It's nice to see what all hides in there, helps people make a decision if they want to open this box or a different one, especially since some items are so rare, you might never come across them normally.

Lol! It's a shame TL didn't give your two ideas enough detail. I love the idea of a skating rink, but that one is tiny and the people inside of it are also tiny! Looks very odd to me :confused: If only a lot of us could work for their design team :rolleyes:

Yeah totally, I can definitely come up with a better design than that! I got 2x snowman workshop and one donut tree....I really wanted the piano...but too bad, not enough gems! Rawrrr

You're right. They do go well together. I'm not overly keen on that ice skating rink display. I think I have enough 'snow' displays for one bakery.

If they have a 40% sale again, I'll be tempted again lol but I doubt I'll ever purchase gems with money though..but sure is a good deal! Lol

Yeah my bakery's run by penguins (although now there are a few snowmen and people too), that's why I bought the box after someone mentioned they got a penguin :)

I seriously hope so, because I haven't had a sale in a while and I refuse to buy gems at full price, that's just ridiculous. A 40% off sale would be wonderful so I can buy a ton of gems! I'm really looking forward to this after the awesome Black Friday sale. I hope there will be some 2nd prize box items this time, since most of the 1st prize were already offered.

Looks like after 3 years, TL doesn't want to pay it's customers back, especially with all the money they earn off of us. I would at least think they'd release a really cool item for free for everyone in every game, or give us free gems.
Or why not continue with "tradition" and also give us a 40% gems sale and release old items at lower prices like they've always done?

If you look at the iTunes top 200 grossing apps, TL's main money makers are castle story, candy blast mania, jewel mania, dragon story, and bubble mania. Farm story 2 is usually in there too but not currently, perhaps because its grosses are being divided between the original and the Christmas edition. Naturally, the developers focus on the games that make them the most money, and the shop games, not so much. I was hoping for an after Christmas LTO sale too and stayed up until reset but alas, nothing. If there's not going to be anything special for sale, I may buy that 25 gem brick display case I've been eying but didn't get since I was saving gems for a potential after Christmas sale, although I feel silly about purchasing it now since it's after Christmas.

I for one don't want any new recipes for a while! I have 51 counters of mastered recipes which equates to millions of plates of food. I want the time to actually sell these before I need to master any new ones!

I totally agree! I have waaaay too much food, even with a better setup I can't get rid of it all to make some profit. So many counters with so much food and never enough money to expand my shop.

Then why don't you get rid of a lot of your counters? Food will never sell out if you have too many counters.

It's not useless because it's worth millions of coins that I will need later as I like to decorate regularly. I ended up with that many counters because I concentrated on a mastering every single recipe to get the gems, plus I like the fact I have every single recipe mastered that's available to me, as it makes me feel 'up-to-date' with the game. By the way, they are 51 counters of different recipes, I don't have the same recipe across multiple counters.

I don't see the problem with selling food. It all sells eventually anyway and without that profit, I know that I wouldn't be able to decorate or expand EVER. Just take a week off from cooking and it'll probably reduce by a third if not by half. Works for me, now I barely have any food left! lol

51 counters is pretty useless. The best way to go is only have several counters stocked with food that earns more than 4 coins such as red velvet cake, cinnamon rolls, gingerbread cookies, etc. Otherwise those 51 counters of food will take you much longer to earn a profit. If I have counters of only red velvet cakes I earn $200,000 in one day whereas counters of regular food gets me $100,000 or less. I used to think having 50 counters of food was the way to go, but in the end unless it earns you more than 4 coins, it's a waste.

Actually, I have mastered everything. Once I've mastered a recipe I dump the food because I make no profit from it. I don't earn money for expansions because I don't care to expand any more. Ever since the price spike it's alot harder to earn money, so I stick to food that makes me a profit and fast because having a million counters backs you up and you end up with holiday food still on counters from the previous year, so that tells you how slow food sells when there's too many counters. Obviously everyone will play however they want, I'm just pointing out you make zero profit in the long run because it could take you a year to sell out.

I'm just so sad that we didn't get a Christmas version or snow. : ( I am thankful for everything else we got please don't get me wrong but this is a special time of the year (my favorite) and for us not to get it just really stunk. Here's to hoping for it next Christmas season.

I was hoping for proper snow tiles too. But I suppose we can be creative with what we have already.

Was hoping for real snow tiles here too and cheaper than the 17,000 per tile we currently have. I tried to decorate my bakery with all of those tiles and was shocked how much money I lost just diong a medium size section of it. Maybe cheaper snow tiles that look like snow, that would be a nice addition.
