Butterfly Collection

Whenever I click on a butterfly, instead of being added to the collection, I get coins and it disappears. Obviously I'm doing someone wrong but I have no idea what. Does anyone know?

You do not get a butterfly added to the collection 100% of the time. :)

You will only earn a butterfly for your collection every once in a while. Usually the butterflies give you coins when you click on them, but sometimes you get a butterfly for your collection or a brick or paint or other things like that.
