I paid 75k for gemstones and got 400 food! I so can't remember all the other odd results but there have been some doozies😢

Quests do not give a guaranteed drop of gemss tones, gold etc. they give you a chance to get them. If you're unsuccessful you'll get either coins or food. I consider these quests to be a bit of a lucky dip.
