Game Play Question By New Player

Hi All; just started playing this game and I like it very much so far. My question is: does anything expire or go bad like in other TL games (BS, RS, Fashion, NS, CS, PS)? Like if I start a job that is 8 hours, will it expire or get lost or whatever after another 8 hours? If I am building a room and don't click on it when it's done, does something bad happen after the amount of hours it took to build? I would appreciate any advice from seasoned players!

Just thought of one more thing: the gifts, letters, treats, etc. that appear in your home: will they eventually collect themselves or do you have to tap them? What happens to those things when you're not in the game?

Things don't expire so that's good. The gifts etc don't seem to collect themselves. I'm pretty certain they don't appear when your not in the game. My u der standing is that they're a bit of a reward for actively playing.
