I'm going to use a same strategy that got me through the last tournament.

- use no gold
- aim to beat the 20th dragon on the first day
- aim to beat the 25th dragon on the second day
- fight the last five using random low level dragons (I have 97 dragons in total)
- if I get behind schedule, I'll set the computer alarm to go off every hour at night so I can battle an get back to sleep
- win the Avatar dragon by day four just like last time

I read every tournament posts like- use no gold etc and im wondering why is this thing a goal for ppl considering the fact that gold cant be used in real life. I dont understand this thing - why ppl dont like to make their way or life in game much easier . Do u rlly like to struggle or push urself to the limits? And ive seen posts like- Omg, i *****ed and i used gold- and i was like wth!!!I love to make my way very smooth and cosy and im always grateful to TL for games and i always spend ALL my gold in tournament. Just love urself more, ppl dont make ur life harder with impossible goals. And this was an advice with double meaning!:) Ah not to mention that usually in the end they r forced to spend much more gold for ults due the lacking of time or other things. Is a nice quote for this- Cheap usually means double lose!

My valkeryie is not as good as it used to be. Would like to try dynasty but he is not epic yet, so he will need to wait until next tourney.

The feeling is mutual esperia77 because i dont have diamond too and i remember very how dark angel made my life mesirable before so same as you i might use my gold. I give few try and then ult dark angel so he can go back to his darkest place hehehe

I read every tournament posts like- use no gold etc and im wondering why is this thing a goal for ppl considering the fact that gold cant be used in real life. I dont understand this thing - why ppl dont like to make their way or life in game much easier . Do u rlly like to struggle or push urself to the limits? And ive seen posts like- Omg, i *****ed and i used gold- and i was like wth!!!I love to make my way very smooth and cosy and im always grateful to TL for games and i always spend ALL my gold in tournament. Just love urself more, ppl dont make ur life harder with impossible goals. And this was an advice with double meaning!:) Ah not to mention that usually in the end they r forced to spend much more gold for ults due the lacking of time or other things. Is a nice quote for this- Cheap usually means double lose!

Lemonade - I understand your point of view. I don't view the use of gold as "*****ing", but many endeavors in life are done FOR the challenge. There is no true challenge if there is no chance of failure. You would not value something that was given to you for free - for that matter something that is given to everyone equally is also not given much value. (Why socializm/communism fails. Humans are designed to be competative). People run marathons to challenge themselves. I bike 1000 miles every summer. It is not easy, but I feel very proud of myself when I accomplish it - plus the friends and experiences gained along the way are unique and invaluable.

Anyone can buy a dragon. Not everyone can win a dragon! The rush of pleasure you get when winning a difficult battle is a very large part of WHY we choose to play. It is that rush that is addictive in all types of gambling, but in a controlled environment, it is what we all seek. There is no rush when you win with gold.

There is a place in my game or the ultimate bash. When the pay is no longer a challenge or a pleasure, the ultimate bash brings release from frustration and stress.

Speeding is part of the game. If you can afford to speed (more a factor of not needing the time to heal dragons than a gold count), then it brings a new experience to the game - swift success leading to more pleasure!

I'm going to use a same strategy that got me through the last tournament.

- use no gold
- aim to beat the 20th dragon on the first day
- aim to beat tehe 25th dragon on the second day
- fight the last five using random low level dragons (I have 97 dragons in total)
- if I get behind schedule, I'll set the computer alarm to go off every hour at night so I can battle an get back to sleep
- win the Avatar dragon by day four just like last time

I try very hard not to use gold in the tournaments. For me the #1 reason is that I'm saving for a diamond. I've been playing over a year and have never gotten one by breeding. So every time I use gold it sets me back in that goal. I've won seven tournaments now, and I won five of those without using any gold whatsoever, and the other two I used ultimate only once each time. I like to show that yes, it can be done (if you're able to battle frequently and have a good array of dragons to choose from). It used to be possible, not an impossible goal as you claimed, to win without gold--although now that TL has started putting 3-4 Champions in the mix along with 4-5 diamonds, it really is nearly impossible now. So people have to just decide whether they want to spend gold. Some people don't have enough gold saved up and won't spend real money on winning a tournament so that is why they don't use gold. For me it is because I want to save the gold for other things I consider more important.

My point wasnt for u who r saving for ur Diamond . It was for those who have but they dont wanna spend any for their own good after all. Tournament prizes r usually beautiful, unique dragons which cannot be obtain thru breeding. Think they worth a lil bit of gold. Im talkin about ppl who just keep the gold for idk what. To set up unproductive goals only to punish urself thats beyond my imagination. But like u said every1 is free to choose!Good luck!

Eak! Battle 13: Lvl 10 Leo Dragon, right? Fine. Beat him with Athletic lvl 10. Waited an hour? still shows the same Leo and the "Battle Now" button won't work! It's completely frozen and I can't figure out how to fix it! I reset the whole thing twice. No luck. Please help! Has anyone else ran into this? Does anyone know how to fix it? I don't have any Champions or Diamonds, so I know this tourney is going to be crazy hard for me and I'll need every hour I can get. I'm worried that I'm already running out of time. :(

Quickly delete the game and reinstall. Its saved in servers so u wont lose ur progress minus last battle .

I've never had enough gold to even afford an Ultimate lol - it's so easy misclicking and wasting gold in DS, so not bothering to save it up at all. And of same reason i'm not spending any real money on buying gold, why should i, when next thing i do may be to waste that gold finishing some tree i'm in process of removing! :)

I think it works ok using what little gold i have speeding up arena now and then, i think when the current tournament started i had 28 gold to spend, now down to 20, halfway through the fights. I don't think we're really meant to play tournaments without using gold, schedule is just too tight if you have a job to concentrate on during daytime making you unable to babysit arena every hour.

Getting through a tournament without using gold does make it into a greater achievement, more challenging indeed, but some just don't have the time for this. Myself i've decided to play it very casual, and if i miss out on reward dragon in the end there'll be a new one out a couple weeks later anyway! :D

also try Black Knight, Dynasty, dawntree, Lotus, or Aether. don't give up. Sometimes you get stuck on a dragon and it takes 10 to 15 times to **** it.

Filipina, I don't know what to tell you. I watch my attacks to see which is stronger, Truro note what colors they are and how close they are..... If they're really, really close, then I'll heal them and maybe try them again. I beat Palladin with Palladin, but I had to heal it once. It was pretty close the first time and when I used it the second time, it was straight out of the spa. Maybe it worked because it wasn't facing a level 18 or 20 Palladin. But it doesn't always work.

Filipina, I don't know what to tell you. I watch my attacks to see which is stronger, Truro note what colors they are and how close they are..... If they're really, really close, then I'll heal them and maybe try them again. I beat Palladin with Palladin, but I had to heal it once. It was pretty close the first time and when I used it the second time, it was straight out of the spa. Maybe it worked because it wasn't facing a level 18 or 20 Palladin. But it doesn't always work.

My black knight slated for trade for a jade is sitting, ready in crafting. I am not willing at this time to occupy a nest that long. I will also need to evolve him - so, hatching, evolving, trading, crafting jade, hatching jade and then feeding and raising jade puts me several weeks down the road for that jade dragon. It will be far too late to use it this tournament. I'm waiting.

If you already have that level 1 knight intended for trading - go for it! I gather you are one of the lucky ones that does not need to evolve before trading! You probably won't be able to use your jade this tournament, but for the following battles for immortal masks, that jade may become invaluable!

Maybe some will laugh but from all my 100+ dragons the ones i love most r lightning and scarecrow. I remember how happy i was when i get the reward. And... my diamond was breeded with scarecrow too. Lightning was like a champion for me in my firsts tournaments also. One of my best fighters!

Yes, feeding dragons is a constant for me. I have a ton of them sitting at levels 7,8,9 that I haven't gotten to yet because they take so much food. Ninja does pretty well for me and Paladin seems to be a good fighter too. Valkyrie is lukewarm however and I haven't had much of a chance to figure out the other two yet. For me if I keep the attacks the same with Ninja the attacks get stronger. For instance if I use bash- the first bash may be weak, but if I use a second bash- that one usually is powerful.

Speeding up is only good if you don't lose otherwise your dragons don't have time to heal. I wish you could put them in a queuing system so they can automatically heal when you are not playing.

Have you tried the Fuzzy / Pegasus combo? I am embarrassed to say I got Diamond first time with that pair. Of course since then it has not been as lucky. Electron gods must be PO'ed. :-)

How can you get diamond from Fuzzy/Pegasus? You're supposed to need four colors involved to get a diamond.
