Sir Pigglesworth - is there a pattern?

So I was wondering... If you hit up sir pig after you hit sawmill, does he give you sap? If after ponds does he give you water? Or is it completely random?

I have never seen a pattern, I'll get truffles then odd random drops.

I collected from the purple cow, then Piggy, got Glimmerdust. So, nothing purple.

I have kinda noticed that pattern too... for example sometimes if I collect from my Workshop I get Fancy Beam or something like that.... but it doesn't work always...
