Does Decor matter?

I am still fairly new at this and was wondering. Does it matter if you add all the decorations? Does it boost your coin output? Or is it simply aesthetics? I keep buying all the decor for goals but I also sell it back at a loss once I reach the goal. Just wondering what the general consensus is on this.

No it doesn't matter. Decor is simply just for aesthetics.

Heavily decorated islands can also cause visiting players' games to crash. I, personally, don't use any decor.

I like those decors - but too much is not good for the performance.
