Having a hard time getting those Super Rare Dragons? We've just started a special event for a limited number of players to enjoy a FREE BOOSTED BREED WEEKEND! During this time, select players will see the cost of the Boosted Breed be the same as a normal Breed. The special event ends on November 18th at 10 AM PST, so be sure to boost all the breedings that you can! If you weren't selected for this event, be sure to look out for similar events in the future! :)

This BB has been working for me compared to regular luck.
I have been throwing 3 colors against 3 colors in hopes for Diamond which I haven't received. Using mostly Morage and Spirit I ended up with a vampire, clown, mythic, tropic and hypnotic. I did use metal and zombie and did get cyber.

I think this is a special boosted breed. When Boosted breeding first came out, it was ****. I used it many times (coins price) and didn't see any difference. This time I think they've super charged it. Mine only costs 200 coins. I went for the split master combination, Pink & Black hoping for a Mask. First shot off the rank is Moon dragon! Yay, I can quest for Comet soon. Second try it's 11 hours... could be Mask, could be Athlete... can't want to find out.

I'm not impressed. The only decent breed I got was a Vampire and it WASN'T with the Boosted Breed because I was so in the habit of ignoring the feature, I forgot to use it for my first pair of Night & Metal. Next came an Aether (fail from Night & Metal) using Boosted. That would have been exciting a few months ago. I haven't been able to breed anything else all weekend because the system refuses to cooperate.
Constant crashes.
Internet connection error messages when the connection is fine.
Dragon pairs returning home without breeding.
I am sick and tired of deleting and reinstalling the app. Even the forum website seems to have issues the past couple days.
Try again next weekend, TeamLava. This Boosted Weekend was an EPIC FAIL!

Oh yay. Night & Metal with Boosted Breed now making Winter or Mistmoth. Would it be too much for one to expect a BLACK hybrid when using Boosted Breed with NIGHT plus whomever? Shouldn't the Boost minimize the splitting we usually hope to avoid when using compound elements?
Who are we kidding? Most of us have been convinced for months that this feature doesn't actually work anyway. Besides, when was the last time TeamLava created a new Common dragon? Since most of the dragons are classified as rare and super-rare (even the ones we're sick of seeing), what's the point of Boosted Breed now even if it DID work?

The game is running rubbish! Keeps crashing, is very laggy and takes ages to load up and travel to/from the arctic isle. Also having problems buying gold, I have a sale on, clicked to buy 250 gold but the confirmation screen vanished before I could confirm, it's radomly popping up but goes to quick to click. This is such a headach, I've only been able to do 4 battles today due to the game crashing and not letting me back in. Grrrrrr

With using 500 gold, I managed to get 4 dragons I didnt had b4. (Rainbow, tropic, libra, clown). Used many combos for different outcomes. Meanwhile I got leopard, planet (I had already) and many rares. Strange thing I had zero commons, only rare or super rares.

I am medium pleased with this action. The final outcomes are not better Than burning 500 gold without boosted breed. Still, I am happy with them. gL every one.

Well I managed to get 3 athletic, 3 mirage, a vampire, a tropic {still an egg} a caesar {still an egg}, a cornucopia, a wild, a serpent, a charm and a virtue. the cornucopia pays out 1175 per hour at level 3! Now I need to finish my expansions and buy a habitat.I guess they knew what they were doing, I had a 25.00 itunes card I used for an extra nest and gold to speed things up. I hope they do this again. I am out of gold until later so my boosted breeding is done. of course feel free to send me some :)

Thanks Panda, I did post that thread in Bugs by reason, so TL really can see it. Apart of that main issue if I take out game offline as mine again is not loading, that is no how to use this booster in game, hence it is only in pop up, which is no showing in my game at all except 2 times when I could not use it.
By other words I cant use this booster, and till they fix it, is booster for nothing. Hence I did post in Bugs part of gotum, otherwise noone will solve it, so make booster longer available if for nothinb if I dont see it in game.

Due to player feedback a while ago, you will only get pop ups once a day. Even though you do not see the pop up if you have the feature you can still use it. When you do breed you will see the boost breed for 200 coins above you normal breeding button.

The boost on my main account has always been 500K (not bad at all compared to some) and now that the "free" weekend is over it has been changed to 12 gold. I will NEVER use it now. Oh well :p
Yeah, i saw that same increase just before the free boosted breed went into effect. Now, i got 2 socials and a honeybee (and a rare moon i didn't have) using the free boost this weekend but i, too, will never ever pay gold for a boost! I have used the boost in the past (with mxed results, leading me to beleve that TL made boosting better just for the weekend) but no more.

I wonder if the boosted breed changed as well with its price. During this weekend, with boosted breed i only got rares and super rares. Not a single common dragon from like 30 tries.

If it continues this way, it worths the 12 gold price. Will try out later. If yes, then i should spend my whole golds i earn from neighbours etc.on boosted breed.

Earlier, with boosted breed (when costed 500k) i got a lot of commons as well.

But during the weekend I got mostly supers and rares, which I already had except for Vampire and around 4 commons. Seems the odds were better, but i'm not sure now since i'm not going to use it. Maybe the odds were only increased during the 2 days, but now probably back to lame results as usual.

Due to player feedback a while ago, you will only get pop ups once a day. Even though you do not see the pop up if you have the feature you can still use it. When you do breed you will see the boost breed for 200 coins above you normal breeding button.

yes, it seems this whole thing was a way to equalize the boosted breed to 12 gold for everyone.

I did get Vampire and Dark Steel from the free boosted breed this weekend (I actually have never used it before this, and I don't have it on my Android island so I still am not getting dark steel there) and I won't use it after this weekend because everything is just starting to be a money grab IMHO.

I don't get how one can complain about this feature since IT'S FREE! :confused: Just because people don't get the specific dragon they have in mind doesn't mean that it's the boosted breeds fault. I mean come on.... Really? It's not like it's called "Get the dragon you want!" event, even though that would be nice too. :p

I've also bred 4 night elfs and a ton of night dragons, which now trading them in I can get the tigers eye AND the jade dragons.... I'm only 1 small black gemstone to get onyx as well. So the only gemstone dragon I need now is quartz!!!

I'm still missing like 40 dragons and don't know what I should try for now. What would be good for me to try for now??? I'm missing a couple pinks, almost all diamonds, all 3 tropics, rainbow, the 2 royal dragons jester and castle.... Pterodactyl, umm...... Caesar. I need some help deciding. Oh, and nano is the only metal I got so far.

Getting long breed times, I wish this event was going for a week or 2. I'm happy they did this, but I really want my missing dragons list to be smaller.

Since now you Can avoid long common fails, you better choose Caesar for example. Usually you Can fail on sunrises, but not now.

Check your missing dragons from this point of view.

I am going to use royal + royal
that combo only gives 6 possibles
Air Dragon Common 2hrs
Magic Dragon Common 20hrs
Peacock Dragon Super Rare 18hrs
Castle Dragon Rare 14hrs
Jester Dragon Super Rare 8hrs
Royal Dragon Rare 8hrs

I think this will be my best bet and to get low hour fails

Well it seems that this "mega"-boosted breed works differently on different accounts. As I wrote before, during the weekend, used 500 gold, and tried this boost like ~30 times. I got not a single common dragons, only rares and super rares. I got some new dragons i didnt had before (rainbow, tropic, clown, mistmooth), also some I had before (2 leopards, 3 moons, also planet, tons of wizards and mindvolts etc.)

I dont think its just luck, I cant be so lucky avoiding commons every time. Seems that with this boost I cant fail on commons. (well maybe I can, pairing fire x fire cant give anything else than fire)

Still, what I said is true. Even if your boost can fail on commons, it worths to get dragons you are missing with long common fails, such as Caesar (sunrise fail). Even if you have chance to fail on sunrise it is a better chance getting Caesar than usual.

But, for me it seems color splitting is not better now. After trying for darksteel I gave up, because failed on countless wizards with 22 hrs. Even a 10hrs coral is a better fail.

So, going for black hybrids this event gives you worse chances than usual. This is my opinion.
(same is with other splitting colors)

I've breed three dragons that I had previously tried for with no luck: Rainbow (2 of them), Vampire, and Bubble (the last pink hybrid I needed other than Unicorn). I've also gotten a Kite, which I wouldn't have had already if it weren't for the fact that I bought one in a package awhile back, as well as a Deep dragon that I already have from back when Black was easier to get.

I've gotten multiple Mindvolts trying for either Clown or Libra, as well as several Wizards. I got one Serpent and one Fairy. The only common dragons I've gotten were two Genies and one Mist.

So all in all, I'm happy because for weeks and weeks now, I've gotten the same common dragons over and over again. Unless I've won it in a tournament, crafted it, or summoned it, the only new dragons I've gotten in recent time were the Boo when it was limited and a Black Swan I got with Virtue/Virtue. Still trying in vain for any Zodiac dragon other than Leo.

If you take a coin, the classical heads/tails flip will, statistically, give you a 50% chance of heads and a 50% chance of tails on each flip. If you stick a small piece of gum on one side of the coin, you skew your odds such that it will fall gum side down more often than it falls gum side up because the gum side weighs more. The bigger piece of gum you use, the more chance you have that it will fall gum side down. (There are more factors in dragon breeding than heads/tails (zero/one) option, but it is essentially the same.) Boosted breeding is "sticking the gum" on the coin for us. Each flip of the coin, though, STILL gives us the 50/50 chance of a common/rare dragon as before, except that the size of the gum wad on the coin will change that ever so slightly. What you got the flip before has absolutely nothing to do with what you get the flip after. Each and every flip is a new operation, carrying the same odds as before. It is perfectly normal to see 23 heads flps before 1 tails flip, even without the gum. The statistic of 50/50 (or a weighted flip of some other percentage) will ONLY approach the perfect split of 50/50 in a large sample - the larger the better. If 1 million people flip the coin in a 50/50 flip, the number of "heads" will be "close" to 500000. If 10 people flip the coin in a 50/50 flip, it may not necessarily be obvious that there is a 50/50 split of heads vs. tails. You may see 10 heads and zero tails. The sample size is simply too small.

And it's for that reason that Figment mentioned that I wouldn't use the boosted breed for 12 gold. It takes me 3 to 4 days to get 12 gold and no way am I spending it when I still have a chance to get something like a Water dragon! Now if TL said boosted breed would eliminate all common breeds from the pool, then maybe I would consider doing it every now and then. Not being able to get an Island, Coral, Water, or Mist would be nice. But then I guess they'd be guaranteeing a Diamond hybrid if one were to breed Diamond/Fire and such, so that wouldn't work.

I was considering using my boosted breed at 500,000 coins after this event was over to see if the results had improved. I can spare 500,000 coins sometimes. But 12 gold is not happening.

I have done a carefully counted 35 boosted breeds (when it was 500000 coins @) of diamond X water, trying for mercury. I got 35 waters. I have tried an unknown number of times since (all 500000 boosted breedings) with the same cross, also resulting in the "rare" water dragon. But that is the odds. If you assign a 1% chance of breeding a mercury with every diamond X water cross, then boost it with a triple chance, it STILL means I have ONLY a 3% chance of getting that mercury at every cross. That is 3 mercurys for every 100 breedings. It is not surprising that I have not gotten the dragon I seek.

Now, I realize the actual breeding crosses are far more complicated, with color splitting and other dragons being introduced. My numbers (percentages) are merely fiction, made up for the sake of the argument. What it means is - you are STILL dealing in odds. For some crosses the odds are very low. Boosted breeding will increase these odds. But it will not be a "magic guarantee" for a given dragon result.

Do not get disheartened. Just when you think you will never get something you want, it will happen. I have been after a particular dragon for a long time. I have not tote it, but along the journey, I have bred others tht I did not have. The rush of success is great. :) recognize it for what it's and enjoy it. That is what the game is specifically designed o do for the player. It is gambling - in a sanctioned, semi-sanitized fashion.

Like so many, I am getting some of the dragons I have been wishing for - so purchasing and spending gold feels "OK". No regrets! None of that mixture of anxiety/frustration/anger/self-doubt that often happens when I run through gold and come up empty-handed. So I would like to add my thanks to TL!

These past few days - reading the *upbeat* forums - does anyone remember many months ago, (I started playing in March 2012) there was a short window of time when we could expand without the map requirement? That was a great event! No map pressure! It was sweet!

This really has been a great event! I never get rares on the first try but just got three in a row, so it's great to catch up on the older dragons. And it's been wonderful to see a lot of happy players in the game.

Don't worry, Virtue is not possible from Night & Kitsune, so it may be Moon (31hrs) or Titan (32hrs, I think?).

I'm in the same boat, but it doesn't make sense to speed both nest and den at this point.
They weren't clear whether they were extending to Wednesday morning or Wednesday midnight.
If it didn't end half an hour ago, then we have another 13.5 hours.

Well I just lost 12 gold. It was still free, a short time ago, got interrupted at work, came back and hit it just as I realized it had gone back to regular price. Worst part is I ended up getting a breed time for a common dragon.

well...i must say thank you TeamLava for this awesome free feature. i finally got some new dragons : night elf, goblin, vampire and raven ! i also got some extra peacocks, night elfs, vampires and a night. my girlfriend got some really cool new dragons as well : clown, rainbow, social and today she got a wizard and an athletic ( also new dragons for her ). i hope TeamLava will repeat this soon ! i really want to try for leo and the other zodiacs and the new metal hybrids ( i only got metal and nano )

I also really appreciated the event and believe it helped me with some of my breedings. But an accurate, in game timer would have made it even better. I hope they do it again at least a few times a year.

I'm glad they did it - I understand it helped a lot of players. That said, since I am one who seems to have pulled more than my fair share of hindrances and handicaps, one of the few things I had going for me was the 500000 coin boost. I don't know how much it helped (I got a tremendous number of commons along with a smattering of more valuable dragons), but I used it every breeding. Now that, too, has been taken away. I am very sad. :( Parity is great, but make it parity in evolution numbers, trading abilities, etc. etc. Give, don't take! Give all others the 500000. Don't make it WORSE for everyone!

Yeah me too I didn't use boost before this event and this boost breed force me to waste my gold to try for new dragons :) I got 6 new dragons :):):)
