which flower/place do you get them from?
i know this probably sounds like a silly question, but i can't seem to collect them anywhere!

The flowers we had to make in the valentines day goals are what I use. The old logs in the market give them too.

They're also a random drop from tall grass, ferns, plant in a log, old log and ivy's hut

If you want to actively get them, I've found the old log is a better bet than the tall grass. It's more expensive, but comes up more often for the use of fewer adventures. Ivy's hut is very rare and takes forever so don't rely on it. The castle story guide mentions the mushroom patch but that's wrong.
