View Full Version : How are you doing your Halloween setup?

The new Halloween items are great but they dont seem to match. You have blues with the wall and floor, greys with the tables and chairs, orange with the counter, and then there's purple and hot pink for the cupcake tree and Natasha! There's just too many colors to work with! And I dont have any items from the last Halloween to mix and match with. Here's a link to my Halloween corner so you can see what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/RwboGI7.png

How do your setups look like? Did you find a way to solve the matching problem?

Try the sun quilt tile. It looks like candy corn. Love it with this update.

I am also using the candy barrel floor decor. It has the round shape like the counters and lots of bright colors. It works well too.

I hate the "Halloween" Floor tiles from the latest update, because they're way too bright. But I do agree with the Sun Quilt tile does look like Candy Corn so maybe that would be a better option? I hope we get more stuff that matches & is cuter. Lol.

I found the tables work well over the boardwalk brown tile, it kinda looks like soil.

I really did not like the moonlit tiles very much until I realized that they kind of remind me of a river with moonlight reflected on it and floating leaves. So, I used the fallen leaves tile and then took the moonlit tiles and made a "winding" river. Then, I used the boardwalk brown tiles (as suggested above) to make a little dirt path. I put the twisted cupcake trees here and there so that it looks kind of like walking through a haunted forest at night. I also used the scary trees wallpaper (I can't remember the exact name, but it's the new wallpaper for this year with tree shadows) and the full moon clock as a back drop. Then, I put the mummy tables and skeleton hand chairs throughout. You definitely have to use your imagination to get the "haunted forest theme" out of it, but I like it overall. I put Natasha with her cauldron in my kitchen.

I love Halloween, and one of my favorite things about it is that Halloween is the one time of year when you can kind of be tacky with decorations and it looks completely appropriate!! So, don't worry about matching - I say, just have some fun with it!

Ok, I think I figured out how to post a photo. Here is the haunted mummy forest (this does include some items from last year's special Halloween box like the mummy family, light posts, and spider candles) Unfortunately, when you decorate like this, there isn't much room for tables. Having said that, I only have one door, so I never run out space for happy customers....

And, here is Natasha, the kitchen witch...

That's a great idea for the winding river. I love the bridge too.
