When choosing to attack and pay the 250 gold the door with 2 swords comes down but freezes there. Gold is gone and can not attack others. But still being attacked.

My game appears to be working fine.

Have you tried reinstalling, and all that jazz?

I've been having similar problems. I can't get revenge on my attackers when I come back. Not because of shields but because the game says the player can't be attacked right now. It's very frustrating!
