Breeding Night Dragons

Every time I try to breed my night dragon with another dragon all I EVER get are coral dragons even though neither of the dragons I am breeding are water or magic types. This is very frustrating b/c I can't complete any of the quests that require me to breed a night dragon, has anyone else had this problem and what can I do to fix it?
